How to Play

Noble Knight Monsters

Noble Knight Medraut
Noble Knight Medraut
LIGHT Warrior ★4
ATK 1700 / DEF 1000
Crusaders Battleground [UR]
Selection Box Vol. 02 [UR]
This card is treated as a Normal Monster while face-up on the field. While equipped with a "Noble Arms" Equip Spell Card, this card becomes an Effect Monster with this effect.● This card becomes DARK and its Level is increased by 1. Once per turn, if you control no other monsters: You can Special Summon 1 "Noble Knight" monster from your Deck in Defense Position, except "Noble Knight Medraut", and if you do, destroy 1 Equip Spell Card you control.

Medraut plus any Noble Arms is all you need to get your Xyz plays going.

  1. Normal Summon Medraut then equip him with a Noble Arms to Special Summon Borz.
  2. The Noble Arms attached to Medraut is destroyed and given to Borz.
  3. Borz lets you fetch a Noble Arms which you will attach to Medraut.
  4. Use Borz and Medraut to make Sacred Artorigus.
  5. Equip Sacred Artorigus with the Noble Arms in your graveyard.
Noble Knight Drystan
Noble Knight Drystan
LIGHT Warrior ★4
ATK 1800 / DEF 800
Crusaders Battleground [SR]
Selection Box Vol. 02 [SR]
While you control another "Noble Knight" monster, your opponent cannot target your monsters with less than 1800 ATK, except this card, for attacks or with card effects. If a "Noble Arms" Equip Spell Card is equipped to this card: Target 1 face-up card on the field; destroy that target. You can only use this effect of "Noble Knight Drystan" once per turn.

Drystan has a good removal effect but doesn't really contribute to the deck's new Xyz spam playstyle. Nonetheless, he is still worth running, and can occasionally be used to get rid of problem cards.

You can use Medraut's effect to Special Summon Drystan from the deck. Attach the destroyed Noble Arms to Drystan and get rid of an enemy card. Then equip Medraut with another Noble Arms to make Sacred Artorigus.

Noble Knight Borz
Noble Knight Borz
LIGHT Warrior ★4
ATK 1700 / DEF 900
Crusaders Battleground [R]
Selection Box Vol. 02 [R]
This card is treated as a Normal Monster while face-up on the field. While equipped with a "Noble Arms" Equip Spell Card, this card becomes an Effect Monster with these effects.● This card becomes DARK and its Level is increased by 1. During your Main Phase: You can reveal 3 "Noble Arms" cards from your Deck, have your opponent randomly add 1 of them to your hand, and send the rest to the Graveyard. You can only use this effect of "Noble Knight Borz" once per turn.

Borz's search effect is somewhat random, but this isn't much of a problem since most of the time any Noble Arms would do. If you want a specific Noble Arms, you can select multiple copies of it so that it's more likely to be chosen.

If she's still in the deck, you always want to chose Gwenhwyfar as one of the search targets. Gwenhwyfar will be useful whether she goes to the hand or graveyard; but especially in the graveyard where she can be reused.

Noble Knight Brothers
Noble Knight Brothers
LIGHT Warrior ★4
ATK 1200 / DEF 2000
Lords of Shining [R]
Crusaders Battleground [R]
Swordbound Silence [R]
Tales of the Noble Knights [R] [R]
This card can only attack if you control exactly 3 "Noble Knight" monsters (and no other monsters). When this card is Normal Summoned: You can Special Summon up to 2 "Noble Knight" monsters from your hand, also you cannot Special Summon monsters for the rest of this turn, except "Noble Knight" monsters. Once per turn: You can target 3 "Noble Knight" and/or "Noble Arms" cards in your Graveyard; shuffle all 3 into the Deck, then draw 1 card.

Another Xyz enabler. Normal Summon Brothers and Special Summon a Noble Knight to make the Rank-4 Artorigus. Brothers is best used mid to late game when you have a graveyard loaded with Noble Arms, ideally including Gallatin. Additionally, Rank-4 Artorigus has an arguably better effect than Sacred Artorigus in terms of OTK potential; being able to clear enemy backrow paired with a high ATK stat (equip Gallatin and Gwenhwyfar) makes for a deadly combination.

Gwenhwyfar, Queen of Noble Arms

Gwenhwyfar, Queen of Noble Arms
Gwenhwyfar, Queen of Noble Arms
LIGHT Spellcaster ★2
ATK 300 / DEF 300
Lords of Shining [N]
You can target 1 "Noble Knight" monster you control; equip this card from your hand or Graveyard to that target. You can only use this effect of "Gwenhwyfar, Queen of Noble Arms" once per turn. The equipped monster gains 300 ATK. Apply the appropriate effect, depending on the Attribute of the equipped monster.
● LIGHT: If the equipped monster would be destroyed by a card effect, you can destroy this card instead.
● DARK: If the equipped monster battles an opponent's monster, at the start of the Damage Step: You can destroy that monster, then destroy this card.

Gwenhwyfar is a versatile recyclable equip card, so you should get her in the graveyard early with Borz's effect. Most of the time she'll be attached to a LIGHT monster as protection from destruction. This is true for your Xyx monsters and Drystan. Equipping her to Medraut or Borz is also viable as a way to get rid of powerful enemy monsters.

Attaching her to a Noble Knight is an ignition effect. This works well when attaching her to Drystan for on-demand removal.

Merlin

Merlin
Merlin
LIGHT Spellcaster ★4
ATK 1400 / DEF 500
Tales of the Noble Knights
You can only use each effect of "Merlin" once per turn.
● You can Tribute this card; Special Summon 1 "Noble Knight" monster from your Deck. You cannot Special Summon monsters the turn you activate this effect, except "Noble Knight" monsters.
● During either player's turn: You can banish this card from your Graveyard; immediately after this effect resolves, Synchro Summon 1 "Noble Knight" Synchro Monster using monsters you control.
● During either player's turn: You can banish this card from your Graveyard; immediately after this effect resolves, Xyz Summon 1 "Noble Knight" Xyz Monster using monsters you control.

As a combo starter, you can summon Merlin then tribute him to Special Summon Medraut. After that proceed with Medraut's combo into Sacred Artorigus.

The third effect can be used during your Battle Phase to quickly make an Xyz monster and deal additional damage. You can also use this in response to an enemy effect activation to dodge it.

Glory of the Noble Knights

Glory of the Noble Knights
Glory of the Noble Knights
Quick Spell
Crusaders Battleground [R]
Selection Box Vol. 02 [R]
Target 1 "Noble Knight" monster you control; equip it with 1 Equip Spell from your Deck that can equip to that target. You can only activate 1 "Glory of the Noble Knights" per turn.

Glory of the Noble Knights equips a Noble Arms directly from the deck. This can be useful in Medraut's combo into Sacred Artorigus. You can attach the searched equip to your Noble Knight Xyz; something like Gallatin which you only have one copy of.

Glory can also be used to during the opponent's turn, particularly when you control Drystan. This lets you use Drystan's effect during the opponent's turn. You can also quickly attach Gallatin to a Noble Knight for a sudden ATK boost when your opponent declares battle.

Noble Arms

In order to use Noble Arms’ effects efficiently, you have to understand what each of them does, and which are more suitable to be used in which situation. All Noble Arms share the effect of re-equipping themselves to any Noble Knight monster you choose, when they are destroyed and sent to the Graveyard. In other words, you can keep destroying them with card effects and they will still be re-equipped as long as there are Noble Knight monsters. You can only control 1 of each Noble Arms on the Field.

Noble Arms - Arfeudutyr
Noble Arms - Arfeudutyr
Equip Spell
Crusaders Battleground [R]
Selection Box Vol. 02 [R]
You can only control 1 "Noble Arms - Arfeudutyr". Equip only to a Warrior-Type monster. Once per turn: You can target 1 Set card your opponent controls; the equipped monster loses exactly 500 ATK, and if it does, destroy that target. (This ATK loss remains even if this card leaves the field or the monster becomes unaffected by card effects.) If this face-up card on the field is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard: You can target 1 Warrior-Type "Noble Knight" monster you control; equip this card to that target. You can only use this effect of "Noble Arms - Arfeudutyr" once per turn.

Noble Arms - Arfeudutyr is good for clearing backrow so you can attack safely. Especially useful against backrow heavy decks like Weather Painter. The downside is that the ATK loss is permanent even if you remove Noble Arms - Arfeudutyr from your Field. However, this won't be a problem if you activate Arfeudutyr's effect while attached to a Noble Knight that is about to be used for Xyz material.

Noble Arms of Destiny
Noble Arms of Destiny
Equip Spell
Crusaders Battleground [R]
Selection Box Vol. 02 [R]
You can only control 1 "Noble Arms of Destiny". Equip only to a Warrior-Type monster. Once per turn, the equipped monster cannot be destroyed by battle or by card effects. If this face-up card on the field is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard: You can target 1 Warrior-Type "Noble Knight" monster you control; equip this card to that target. You can only use this effect of "Noble Arms of Destiny" once per turn.

Generally, Noble Arms of Destiny is the most used because of its ability to protect your Noble Knight once ever turn. This makes your Noble Knight Xyz quite sturdy, requiring the opponent to spend multiple removal effects to get rid of it.

Noble Arms - Gallatin
Noble Arms - Gallatin
Equip Spell
Crusaders Battleground [R]
Swordbound Silence [R]
You can only control 1 "Noble Arms - Gallatin". Equip only to a Warrior-Type monster. It gains 1000 ATK. During each of your Standby Phases, it loses 200 ATK. If this face-up card on the field is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard: You can target 1 Warrior-Type "Noble Knight" monster you control; equip this card to that target. You can only use this effect of "Noble Arms - Gallatin" once per turn.

Even considering your Extra Deck monsters, the overall ATK stat of this deck is quite low. Gallatin fixes this with a huge 1000 ATK boost, that can be transferable between monsters. Rank-4 Artorigus works well with Gallatin due to his inherent backrow clearing ability, giving you an opening to OTK.

Reinforcement of the Army

Reinforcement of the Army
Reinforcement of the Army
Normal Spell
Starter/Special Set Bundle Sale [UR]
Add 1 Level 4 or lower Warrior monster from your Deck to your hand.

Another Core Techs to search out Noble Knights Monsters especially Mendraut for boarding setup.

Backrow Counter Techs

Even with Arfeudutyr, the backrow removal in this deck might not be enought. You also won't be summoning Rank-4 Artorigus as much as Rank-5 Artorigus so he won't be as reliable. To give Sacred Artorigus the OTK potential of Rank-4 Artorigus, run these backrow removal techs.

Double Cyclone
Double Cyclone
Quick Spell
Valiant Souls [SR]
Ancient Gear Awakening [SR]
Selection Box Vol. 01 [SR]
Target 1 Spell/Trap Card you control and 1 Spell/Trap Card your opponent controls; destroy them.
Parallel Twister
Parallel Twister
Normal Spell
Blades of Spirits [SR]
Dragunity Overdrive [SR]
Send 1 other Spell/Trap Card you control to the Graveyard, then target 1 card on the field; destroy it.

Until Noble Arms are Needed Once Again

Until Noble Arms are Needed Once Again
Until Noble Arms are Needed Once Again
Normal Trap
Tales of the Noble Knights
Excavate cards from the top of your Deck, equal to the number of "Noble Arms" Equip Spells you control, and if you do, add 1 of them to your hand, also place the remaining cards on top of your Deck in any order. You can banish this card from your GY, except the turn this card was sent to the GY; Special Summon from your Deck, 1 "Noble Knight" monster with a different name from the cards you control or in your GY. You can only use this effect of "Until Noble Arms are Needed Once Again" once per turn.

It's relatively easy to excavate two cards with the first effect. This cycles a card out of the deck and gives you information on your next turn draw. The second effect is usually used to bring Drystan out in a pinch; he will most likely be the only one available since you only have one copy, and Medraut with Borz is part of your main combo.

Artorigus Xyz Monsters

Sacred Noble Knight of King Artorigus
Sacred Noble Knight of King Artorigus
LIGHT Warrior ★5
ATK 2200 / DEF 2200
Tales of the Noble Knights [UR]
2 Level 5 "Noble Knight" monsters
When this card is Xyz Summoned: You can target up to 3 "Noble Arms" Equip Spell Cards with different names in your Graveyard; equip those targets to this card. Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 other monster on the field; destroy that target. If this card is sent from the field to the Graveyard: You can target 1 Level 4 or higher "Noble Knight" monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon that target.

Easily summoned with the Medraut combo; most of the time, this will be your go-to Xyz. Equipping Noble Arms from your graveyard is strong because it gives you a ton of effects. Prioritize Noble Arms of Destiny first for protection, and then Gallatin for ATK boost. For the third Spell/Trap slot, you can equip Gwenhwyfar for more protection and slight ATK boost.

Sacred Artorigus' removal effect is useful but nothing special. Use this to get rid of things you can't run over in battle.

Artorigus, King of the Noble Knights
Artorigus, King of the Noble Knights
LIGHT Warrior ★4
ATK 2000 / DEF 2000
Tales of the Noble Knights [UR]
2 Level 4 "Noble Knight" monsters
When this card is Xyz Summoned: You can target up to 3 "Noble Arms" Equip Spell Cards with different names in your Graveyard; equip those targets to this card. Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; destroy any number of Spell/Trap Cards on the field, up to the number of "Noble Arms" Equip Spell Cards you control.

Has a similar effect with Sacred Artorigus that lets you attach multiple Noble Arms from the graveyard. Summon Artorigus with Noble Knight Brother's combo. Rank-4 Artorigus' backrow wipe effect lets you attack the opponent safely, making him more suited for OTKs.

Heroic Champion - Excalibur
Heroic Champion - Excalibur
LIGHT Warrior ★4
ATK 2000 / DEF 2000
Eternal Stream [UR]
2 Level 4 Warrior-Type monsters
Once per turn: You can detach 2 Xyz Materials from this card; this card's ATK becomes double its original ATK until your opponent's next End Phase.

Summon Excalibur and immediately activate its effect to double its ATK. This should be enough to beatdown any enemy monster. If your opponent has an empty field, you can attack directly for an OTK.

Abyss Dweller
Abyss Dweller
WATER Sea Serpent ★4
ATK 1700 / DEF 1400
Photons of Galaxy [UR]
Selection Box Vol.03 Mini [UR]
2 Level 4 monsters
While this card has an Xyz Material attached that was originally WATER, all WATER monsters you control gain 500 ATK. Once per turn, during either player's turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; any card effects that activate in your opponent's Graveyard cannot be activated this turn.

Won't be able to become 2200 ATK since there are no WATER monsters in the main deck, but this is still useful to stop your opponent's plays that rely on effects that happen in the graveyard.

Steelswarm Roach
Steelswarm Roach
DARK Fiend ★4
ATK 1900 / DEF 0
Photons of Galaxy [SR]
Selection Box Vol.05 [SR]
2 Level 4 monsters
During either player's turn, when a Level 5 or higher monster would be Special Summoned: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; negate the Special Summon, and if you do, destroy it.

Roach is great for monster suppression, much like a Trap Hole card. When your opponent summons a boss monster, use Roach's effect to immediately destroy it. This is an especially good counter against High-Level Monster Summoning, especially Mekk-Knight, Galaxy, Infernoid, or Synchro Decks. But most of the time, just Roach's presence on the field is enough to deter the opponent from making big monsters.

Sacred Noble Knight of King Custennin
Sacred Noble Knight of King Custennin
LIGHT Warrior ★4
ATK 1500 / DEF 2500
Infinite Ray [SR]
2+ Level 4 "Noble Knight" monsters
You can detach any number of materials from this card, then target that many cards your opponent controls; return them to the hand. If this card is destroyed by battle or card effect and sent to the GY: You can Special Summon 1 "Noble Knight" Xyz Monster from your Extra Deck, except "Sacred Noble Knight of King Custennin", and if you do, attach this card from the GY to that monster as material. (This is treated as an Xyz Summon.) You can only use each effect of "Sacred Noble Knight of King Custennin" once per turn.

Custennin is a good "safe" option to summon if you're not going on the offensive. His removal effect lets you spend all his materials at once to remove multiple enemy cards. Equally important, his floating effect is great because you'll still get to use Sacred Artorigus or King Artorigus' recovery effects.

Custennin can also be used offensively if your opponent is down to 1500 or less LP. Summon Custennin and use his effect to clear the way for a direct attack.

Other Cards Option

Noble Knight Pellinore

Noble Knight Pellinore
Noble Knight Pellinore
LIGHT Warrior ★4
ATK 1900 / DEF 500
Infinite Ray [SR]
You can target 1 "Noble Arms" Equip Spell equipped to this card and 1 face-up monster your opponent controls; destroy them, then draw 1 card, also, this card cannot attack for the rest of this turn. You can only use this effect of "Noble Knight Pellinore" once per turn.

Pellinore has a great effect for gaining card advantage. Noble Arms equips are able to recover themselves after being destroyed so you spend nothing by using this effect. Destroying an opponent's monster is decently good, and on top of that you also get a free draw.

Sphere Kuriboh

Sphere Kuriboh
Sphere Kuriboh
DARK Fiend ★1
ATK 300 / DEF 200
The Ultimate Rising [UR]
Selection Box Vol. 01 [UR]
When an opponent's monster declares an attack: You can send this card from your hand to the Graveyard; change the attacking monster to Defense Position. When you Ritual Summon a monster, you can banish this card from your Graveyard as 1 of the monsters required for the Ritual Summon.

Having a handtrap can help stop a potential OTK. Sphere Kuriboh gives your monsters an extra layer of defense on top of having Noble Arms of Destiny. Alternatively, you can play Battlin Boxer Veil to make rank 4's easier.

Wightprincess

Wightprincess
Wightprincess
DARK Zombie ★3
ATK 1600 / DEF 0
Energy of Gigarays [R]
This card’s name becomes "Skull Servant" while it is in the Graveyard. If this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can send 1 "Wightprince" from your Deck to the Graveyard. During either player's turn: You can send this card from your hand or field to the Graveyard; all monsters currently on the field lose ATK and DEF equal to their own Level/Rank x 300, until the end of this turn.

Can be used during either players' turn makes this card more useful to prevent OTK from your opponent by reducing their ATK regarding to their own Level/Rank.

Other Extra Decks

Blade Armor Ninja
Blade Armor Ninja
WIND Warrior ★4
ATK 2200 / DEF 1000
Sign of Harpies [UR]
2 Level 4 Warrior-Type monsters
Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card to target 1 "Ninja" monster you control; it can make a second attack during each Battle Phase this turn.

Can also equip the Noble Arms equip cards since this is a warrior, and being able to attack twice with Gallatin gives it a decent chance to OTK your opponent.

Starliege Paladynamo
Starliege Paladynamo
LIGHT Warrior ★4
ATK 2000 / DEF 1000
Selection Box Vol.04 [UR]
2 Level 4 LIGHT monsters
Once per turn: You can detach 2 Xyz Materials from this card to target 1 face-up monster your opponent controls; its ATK becomes 0, and if it does, its effects are negated. When this card you control is destroyed by your opponent's card (either by battle or by card effect) and sent to your Graveyard: Draw 1 card.

Reduces ATK compared to Excalibur that increases its ATK instead. Excalibur's ATK boost lets it get over high ATK monsters that are untargetable, but having a negate effect and reducing to 0 can be situationally better.

Zubaba General
Zubaba General
EARTH Warrior ★4
ATK 2000 / DEF 1000
Zexal World Release Campaign [UR]
2 Level 4 monsters
Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; equip 1 Warrior-Type monster from your hand to this card. This card gains ATK equal to the combined ATK of the monsters equipped to it by this effect.

Zubaba General is the strongest monster in your deck if you have the resources to invest in him. He can be a bit more difficult to make than your Noble Knight Xyz, but still manageable. You also need to equip him with monsters from your hand to turn him into a significant beater. But at his best, you're looking at a 5000+ ATK beater.

Gagaga Cowboy
Gagaga Cowboy
EARTH Warrior ★4
ATK 1500 / DEF 2400
Gagaga XYZ [UR]
2 Level 4 monsters
Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; apply this effect, depending on this card's current battle position.
● Attack Position: If this card attacks an opponent's monster this turn, it gains 1000 ATK, also the opponent's monster loses 500 ATK, during the Damage Step only.
● Defense Position: Inflict 400 damage to your opponent.

Attack position effect is good for running over powerful monsters. Defense position effect is good for stealing wins when your opponent is at 400 or less LP.

It is not, what made karakuri good was the draw power and the backrow: 2 high atk (almost vanilla) monsters + 3 backrow

this deck is so trash, floodgate or karma or anything that prevents that interrupts that normal summon, its over you've lost. This deck requires so many equip spells to work, that you have no way to play around disruptions, you play out your combo uninterrupted and maybe you can otk, or you get interrupted and lose, there's no other path
<< Anonymous
SpoilerMaster Reply
Tell me, which deck doesn't have a problem against those traps going second?

It is time for you to change your mindset, interrupting plays is how Duel Links is now and how it will be forever. It doesn't matter if your monster if you can't continue your combo.

What IS important is, does that deck has its own interruption or floating? Does it have recovery? I say well made NK has it.
<< Anonymous

Noble Knight needs 4 to 5 of those noble arm cards in order to function, other than their monsters. If you 6 staple traps, it reduces your consistency. Archetype such as Shiranui only need their monsters. Too bad Konami killed it.

There was interaction and out-of-turn play long before "🔥 your normal summon" became a norm.

Not all interaction is "cut them off at the knees". Frankly, it'd be nice if more people remembered that.
