Destroys 1 Spell/Trap card your opponent controls.
It is a Quick-Play spell, can be activated during your Opponent’s Main or Battle Phase.
Destroys 1 of your own Spell/Trap card as a cost.
The difference between this card and Parallel Twister is that, Parallel Twister may be able to destroy any card your opponent controls, but it is not a Quick-Play spell so the usage is limited to only your Main Phase. They both have pros and cons for different situations.
Very important to take note, both targeted Spell/Trap card from your field and your opponent’s Field can be chained in response to Double Cyclone’s activation, if they are able to be used during that moment.
This card destroys Spell/Cards but does not negate their effects should the cards were activated in response to this card.
It can be a good idea to use characters that has Field Spell skills, so that you may start with a Field Spell on your field, that can be used as a cost should the situation requires it.
Destroy own cards
Wild Tornado can destroy 1 face-up monster when it is being destroyed and sent to the Graveyard. Dimension Gate is able to bring back one of your own monster from the Banished zone to the Field. You can equip Big Bang Shot to your opponent’s monster, and use Double Cyclone to destroy Big Bang Shot, and destroy 1 targeted opponent’s Spell/Trap, also banishing the monster equipped with your Big Bang Shot at the same time.
Excellent for TILT decks. Formidable Combo: Tribute to the Doomed + Double Cyclone!!! First, activate TttD! Now, you are left wondering, what if I don't want to discard any? Worry not, choose Cyclone to discard! Upon activation (toggle it on or else you'll miss it!) it will prompt you to activate Cyclone as well because it's a Quick-Play spell! Oh no, I don't want to destroy any of my valuable backrows! Again, WORRY NOT! Remember, you already activated TttD, right? Choose it as the destroyed card, then proceed to watch your opponent's field removed of 1 monster card and 1 spell/trap WITHOUT you discarding an important hand nor destroying a crucial backrow! Just drawing the two cards in this combo means MINUS TWO for opponent's field! Very strong if activated early in game! (something that parallel twister can't pull off!)
Don't have a problem with night beam since it's restricted to facedown s/t and isn't a quickplay. MST may be fair according to some people but since it destroys s/t no questions asked with no restrictions it's easy to see why people get pis$ed at it.
