Select 1 face-up card in the Spell & Trap Card Zones and destroy it. The controller of the destroyed card can then Set 1 Spell or Trap Card from their hand. If this Set card is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard, select and destroy 1 face-up card on the field.

Pros

  • If it's destroyed when it is set, it can destroy any face up spell/trap/field-spell/monster on the field.

Cons

  • Targeted spell/trap cards must be face-up.
  • Opponent can set a spell/trap card which can be activated immediately if it's a quick-play spell.

This card was activated in response to Favorite hero's effect in battle phase (play a field spell from the hand or deck). It understandably destroyed the spell, but it also negated the effect of the card by chaining.

Can anyone explain this to me? It isn't a counter trap, or negation. As far as I understand, the spell effect should still allow the field spell to be played after activation, as long as it wasn't negated.

Continuous Spells/Traps, Field Spells and Equip Spells must stay on the field in order to activate their effects. If you chain something that removes those cards from the field, the activation will stop.

*There's some typo above: The activation won't stop but the card effect won't resolve

feels like this card is better than twister? just need to set and it basically serves the same function as twister without the 500 LP cost

It should not, the description says "spell/trap zone" which is the 3 spaces you got, the other one is field spell zone where wild tornado cant access

it could destroy the field spell card if say it was targeted by Storm or Harpies because of it's second effect

Is there another monster/magic/trap card like this one that when destroyed, either destroy a card or return a card on the field ?

In case you were wondering: doesn't work with Vision Hero Witch Raider (you can't destroy one face-up card when you use this card as one of the tributes for witch raider)

Seems bugged considering it is supposed to only destroy monsters if the trap is destroyed while set, but even when it's activated and destroys a spell/trap it then destroys a monster when it leaves the field. Please fix otherwise it's an OP bugged card. Should only be able to destroy monsters if it is destroyed when set, not when it's active and destroyed because it was used.

dd tower uses them way often and can shut down AG deck.

Is there a bug with this card where it can't destroy special summoned monsters such as fusion or ritual? Used it in a nephthys deck but it failed big time... Am I getting something wrong about this mechanics?
