Versatile destruction effect that works for Spell, Trap and monster cards regardless of their position.
“Send 1 other Spell/Trap Card you control to the Graveyard” is a cost, so you can’t chain that card to this effect.
You can trigger Inzektor monsters’ effects with this card, get rid of Continuous Traps in Ninja deck that are not connected to a monster anymore or combo it with Big Bang Shot to remove two cards from the field; you can also send Silent Burning to the GY and then search a Silent Magician from the deck.
Recommended Spell/Trap Combo
These are the cards recommended to be used together with Parallel Twister. “Ninjitsu Art” cards can see some benefits here should they no longer are in use but clogging up your backrow, you can instead “recycle” and send them to the graveyard and destroy 1 card on your opponent’s side of the field. Silent Burning can be banished from the Graveyard to add 1 Silent Magician Lv 4 monster to your hand, while Scramble Union can also be banished from the Graveyard to add 1 banished LIGHT Machine-Type Union/Normal monster to your hand. This card also acts as a kill-switch to Burning Land, in the event your LP is lesser than your opponent and you need to get rid of Burning Land, you can use Parallel Twister to stop the damage and destroy 1 card from your opponent’s field. You can equip Big Bang Shot to your opponent’s monster, send that Big Bang Shot to the graveyard using Parallel Twister’s effect, doing this will banish the monster equipped with Big Bang Shot, and you additionally get to destroy another 1 of your opponent’s card.
The greatest drawback of this card is that the card that is sent to the graveyard cannot be chained to its effect, resulting in limited card choices to utilize with this card.
This card however is still very good in certain decks that requires their backrow to be removed, depending on situations, therefore they can gain the benefit from this card to destroy 1 card from the opponent’s field to their advantage.
They're very different cards. There aren't a whole lot of decks where they're comparable. Double Cyclone destroying your card is its main selling point, which Parallel Twister doesn't do.
The main issues with Parallel Twister are it's not Quick-Play, and very little benefits from its cost, so you'll usually be giving up a card, as opposed to Double Cyclone, where the destruction is often wanted.
Between this and Double Cyclone, I feel this one is the better spell since it's versatile. If you just need to destroy spells/traps than Double Cyclone is a little bit better cause it's a quick-play spell.
This card works great in Aquaactress since you can revive a Aquaactrss monster after sending an Aquarium to the GY.
