Madolche: deck recipe [Feb 23]

Duel Links Madolche deck, Madolche in the current meta, how to use
update 23/02/2023

Overview

“Madolche” is an archetype of EARTH monsters with various Types that was originally introduced via the D.D. Tower WIND and EARTH Dimension Event. Although “Madolche” did receive some pretty good support from Burning Nova, then other supports including Key Xyz Boss, Madolche Queen Tiaramisu are released on the 44th Mini Box: Lord of Borrel.

The “Madolche” archetype focuses on recycling their cards for repeated use, with all of the "Madolche" monsters being sent back to the Deck or the hand when they are destroyed by the opponent’s card. This unique trait is this archetype’s biggest strength and it gives this deck the ability to quickly recover while the opponent’s resources are slowly depleted.

How to Get

Madolche Puddingcess

Madolche Puddingcess
Madolche Puddingcess
EARTH Fairy ★5
ATK 1000 / DEF 1000
Burning Nova [SR]
If this card in your possession is destroyed by your opponent's card (by battle or card effect) and sent to your Graveyard: Shuffle this card into the Deck. While you have no monsters in your Graveyard, this card gains 800 ATK and DEF. After damage calculation, when this card battles an opponent's monster: You can target 1 card your opponent controls; destroy that target.

Madolche Puddingcess is a Level 5 monster with pretty low base stats. Even with no monsters in your graveyard, her ATK boost only pushes her up to 1800 ATK. You use Hootcake to Special Summon Puddingcess from your Deck by banishing the other 1 Monster, it will have 1800 ATK and DEF, which goes up to 2300 ATK and DEF with Madolche Chateau. You can also Special Summon Madolche Puddingcess from your hand using Mewfeuille.

The best part about Puddingcess is her free removal effect, but even this is quite slow. Only being activated after your battle leaves Puddingcess vulnerable to all forms of disruption. If you do manage to pull it off, use this effect to get rid of your opponent’s back row or of any threat on the field.

Madolche Magileine

Madolche Magileine
Madolche Magileine
EARTH Spellcaster ★4
ATK 1400 / DEF 1200
Dimension of the Wizards [SR]
When this card you control is destroyed by your opponent's card (either by battle or by effect) and sent to your Graveyard: Shuffle this card into your Deck. When this card is Normal or Flip Summoned: You can add 1 "Madolche" monster from your Deck to your hand.

Normal Summon Magileine and search Mewfeuille or Hootcake, depending on whether Messengelato is in your hand or deck respectively. Summon Mewfeuille or Hootcake then use their effect to Special Summon Messengelato. Messengelato searches your Field Spell which gives you non-stop monster recycling. This combo is a good demonstration of the Madolche playstyle and strategy, good resource gain but low power output.

Magileine can search another copy of herself to cycle through your deck. But you will need to wait till your next turn to use the searched Magileine's effect.

Madolche Petingcessoeur

Madolche Petingcessoeur
Madolche Petingcessoeur
EARTH Fairy ★4
ATK 1400 / DEF 1400
Card Trader [UR]
If this card in your possession is destroyed by an opponent's card and sent to your Graveyard: Shuffle this card into the Deck. You can only use each of the following effects of "Madolche Petingcessoeur" once per turn.
●If you have no monsters in your Graveyard: You can Special Summon this card from your hand.
●If this card is Special Summoned: You can Special Summon 1 "Madolche" monster from your hand or Deck, except "Madolche Petingcessoeur", and if you do, reduce its Level by 1, also you cannot Special Summon monsters for the rest of this turn, except "Madolche" monsters.

Madolche Petingcessoeur is a 1-card XYZ starter by special summoning herself while your Grave is empty of monsters. She will bring out Madolche Puddingcess with Level 1 Reduction (Level 4), making this card can easily let you dive into Madolche Queen Tiaramisu.

Madolche Hootcake

Madolche Hootcake
Madolche Hootcake
EARTH Beast ★3
ATK 1500 / DEF 1100
Dimension of the Wizards [SR]
When this card in your possession is destroyed by your opponent's card (either by battle or by card effect) and sent to your Graveyard: Shuffle this card into the Deck. You can target 1 monster in your Graveyard; banish it, and if you do, Special Summon 1 "Madolche" monster from your Deck, except "Madolche Hootcake". You can only use this effect of "Madolche Hootcake" once per turn.

By banishing a monster from your Graveyard, Madolche Hootcake allows you to Special Summon another “Madolche” monster from your Deck. Normal Summon Madolche Hootcake, banish the other Monsters from your Graveyard then Special Summon Messengelato to search your Field Spell. Or, if you already have your Field Spell, Special Summon Puddingcess for a beater with a slightly slow removal effect.

Madolche Chateau

Madolche Chateau
Madolche Chateau
Field Spell
Burning Nova [R]
When this card is activated: Shuffle all "Madolche" monsters in your Graveyard into the Deck. All "Madolche" monsters on the field gain 500 ATK and DEF. If a monster(s) in your Graveyard would be returned to the Deck by the effect of a "Madolche" monster, you can add it to your hand instead.

This Field Spell will increase the ATK and DEF of all “Madolche” monsters on the field, including the ones your opponent controls in a mirror match, by 500. Additionally, if any monster in your Graveyard would be returned to the Deck by the effect of a “Madolche” monster while you control Madolche Chateau, you can add it to your hand instead. This second effect is the most amazing part of Chateau, letting you endlessly recycle your monsters to keep up resources.

Since adding the monster back to the hand is not mandatory, you can still just shuffle the destroyed monster(s) back into the Deck to prevent yourself from running out of cards before your opponent.

Madolche Messengelato
Madolche Messengelato
EARTH Warrior ★4
ATK 1600 / DEF 1000
Burning Nova [R]
When this card in your possession is destroyed by your opponent's card (either by battle or by card effect) and sent to your Graveyard: Shuffle this card into the Deck. When this card is Special Summoned: You can add 1 "Madolche" Spell/Trap Card from your Deck to your hand. You must control a face-up Beast-Type "Madolche" monster to activate and to resolve this effect.

If Madolche Messengelato is Special Summoned and you control a Beast-Type “Madolche” monster (Hootcake or Mewfeuille), it allows you to add a “Madolche” Spell/Trap Card from your Deck to your hand. Use Messengelato’s effect to add the Field Spell to your hand.

Madolche Nights

Madolche Nights
Madolche Nights
Counter Trap
Burning Nova [N]
Lord of Borrel [N]
When a monster effect is activated, if you have no monsters in your Graveyard: Negate the activation, then if you control "Madolche Puddingcess", shuffle 1 random card from your opponent's hand into the Deck.

A Great Monster Effect Negation counter with 1 Random Hand Card shuffle back while you have 0 monsters in your Graveyard.

Techs

Magical Mallet
Magical Mallet
Normal Spell
Card Trader [R]

Reshuffles cards into your deck then draw that many cards, so you can try to get cards you need.

Crackdown
Crackdown
Continuous Trap
Selection Box Vol.02 Super Mini [UR]
Activate by targeting 1 face-up monster your opponent controls; take control of that monster. While you control that monster, it cannot attack or activate effects. When that monster leaves the field, destroy this card.
Compulsory Evacuation Device
Compulsory Evacuation Device
Normal Trap
Selection Box Vol.04 Mini [UR]
Target 1 monster on the field; return that target to the hand.

Very powerful monster removal card that can disrupt your opponent's combo easily.

Ice Dragons Prison
Ice Dragons Prison
Normal Trap
Selection Box Vol.06 [UR]
Target 1 monster in your opponent's GY; Special Summon it to your field, but its effects are negated, then, you can banish 1 monster from both players' fields that have the same Type as each other. You can only activate 1 "Ice Dragon's Prison" per turn.

Ice Dragon's Prison is used as Disruption Tech and is very useful against the Deck that only contains or mostly 1 Monster-Type like Gouki and Mekk-Knight.

Extra Decks

Madolche Queen Tiaramisu
Madolche Queen Tiaramisu
EARTH Fairy ★4
ATK 2200 / DEF 2100
Lord of Borrel [UR]
2 Level 4 "Madolche" monsters
Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target up to 2 "Madolche" cards in your Graveyard; shuffle those cards into the Deck, also, after that, shuffle cards your opponent controls into the Deck, up to the number of "Madolche" cards returned.

Madolche Queen Tiaramisu, a great Madolche Rank 4 Xyz monster that has Up to 2 Non-Targeting/Destruction Removal, and also recycles back the same amount of Madolche cards to the Deck. This Queen is powerful against those Boss Monsters that cannot be targeted or destroyed by Battle or Card Effect, you can also shuffle the opponent's back-row for safety play or attack.

Madolche Puddingcess Chocolat-a-la-Mode
Madolche Puddingcess Chocolat-a-la-Mode
EARTH Fairy ★5
ATK 2500 / DEF 2200
Lord of Borrel [SR]
2 Level 5 EARTH monsters
You can also Xyz Summon this card by using a Rank 4 or lower "Madolche" Xyz Monster you control as the Xyz Material. (Xyz Materials attached to that monster also become Xyz Materials on this card.) Once per turn: You can target 1 "Madolche" card in your Graveyard; shuffle it into the Deck. While this card has "Madolche Puddingcess" as Xyz Material, when a "Madolche" card(s) in your Graveyard is shuffled into the Main Deck (except during the Damage Step): You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; Special Summon 1 "Madolche" monster from your Deck in Attack Position or face-down Defense Position.

Rank 5 Boss Monster which can be "Rank-Up" Xyz Summon by stacking on top of other Rank 4 Madolche Xyz Monsters (Queen or Teacher). Chocolat-a-la-Mode acts as a Great Recycle Tech that not only Madolche Monster but Spell/Trap too. She can also swarm 1 Madolche monster from your Deck while there is a Madolche card shuffled back to the Main Deck but except during Damage Step.

Madolche Teacher Glassouffle
Madolche Teacher Glassouffle
EARTH Fairy ★4
ATK 1800 / DEF 2500
Lord of Borrel [SR]
2 Level 4 "Madolche" monsters
(Quick Effect): You can detach 1 material from this card, then target 1 "Madolche" monster on the field; this turn, that face-up monster is unaffected by monster effects, except its own. If a "Madolche" card is sent to your GY while this card is on the field (except during the Damage Step): You can shuffle up to 2 cards from the GYs into the Deck(s). You can only use each effect of "Madolche Teacher Glassouffle" once per turn.

Rank 4 Madolche Xyz Monster allows 1 of your Madolche Monsters unaffected by monster effects except the targeted himself.

Not only that, Glassouffle can shuffles to 2 cards (yes, including the other cards like Spell/Trap Cards that have been used) from your Grave back to the Deck effect while a Madolche Card is sent to your Graveyard. This effect is very useful to let you recycle your Tech or Key Cards for next play.

Diamond Dire Wolf
Diamond Dire Wolf
EARTH Beast ★4
ATK 2000 / DEF 1200
Voltage of the Metal [SR]
Selection Box Vol.03 Mini [SR]
2 Level 4 monsters
Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 Beast, Beast-Warrior, or Winged Beast-Type monster you control and 1 other card on the field; destroy them.

Destroy itself or Hootcake and 1 card your opponent controls. You can make a Dire Wolf and destroy an opponent's spell/trap before your normal summon to have safer and uninterrupted play.

Knightmare Phoenix
Knightmare Phoenix
FIRE Fiend
ATK 1900 / DEF 2
Future Circuit [SR]
2 monsters with different names
If this card is Link Summoned: You can discard 1 card, then target 1 Spell/Trap your opponent controls; destroy it, then, if this card was co-linked when this effect was activated, you can draw 1 card. You can only use this effect of "Knightmare Phoenix" once per turn. Co-linked monsters you control cannot be destroyed by battle.

Similars to Knightmare Cerberus but Backrow Removal Effect by discarding 1 card. Phoenix's co-linked effect will allow you to have 1 Card Draw and Battle Destruction Protection.

Link Disciple
Link Disciple
LIGHT Cyberse
ATK 500 / DEF 1
Link Revolution [R]
1 Level 4 or lower Cyberse monster
You can Tribute 1 monster this card points to; draw 1 card, then place 1 card from your hand on the bottom of the Deck. You can only use this effect of "Link Disciple" once per turn.

Used as Filter Draw by tributing 1 monster this card points to; usually used to get rid of Knightmare Corruptor Iblee that was special summoned to your field by the opponent.

Weaknesses

  • Necrovalley on its own can shut down your entire strategy. Preventing your Madolches from recycling themselves and preventing you from using Hootcake's effect.

  • This deck lacks any form of protection. Because of this it relies on generic backrow to stop your opponent from using their own disruption.

  • A lot of your recycling potential comes from your Field Spell. If Chateau gets outed you lose your fast recycling engine and also the boost that turns your monsters into decent beaters.

Other useful cards

Synchros

Psychic Wheeleder
Psychic Wheeleder
EARTH Psychic ★3
ATK 600 / DEF 0
Dimension of the Wizards [UR]
If you control a Level 3 monster other than "Psychic Wheeleder", you can Special Summon this card (from your hand) in Defense Position. You can only Special Summon "Psychic Wheeleder" once per turn this way. If this card is sent to the GY as Synchro Material: You can target 1 monster on the field with less ATK than the Synchro Monster that used this card as material; destroy it. You can only use this effect of "Psychic Wheeleder" once per turn.

You can Special Summon Psychic Wheeleder when you control Mewfeuille or Hootcake. Since Mewfeuille and Hootcake usually Special Summon Messengelato, you have the option of making level-6 or level-7 Synchros. Keep in mind this puts monsters in your graveyard which interferes with Puddincess' stat boost. However, the synchro materials in your graveyard can be used as cost for Hootcake's effect.

A full combo with Hootcake and Wheeleder on hand would go something like this:

  1. Normal Summon Hootcake and banish Dark Verger to Special Summon Messengelato. Messengelato searches Chateau.
  2. Special Summon Wheeleder and make a level-7 Synchro. Usually Ancient Pixie Dragon for control or Samurai Destroyer for offense.
  3. Activate Chateau which lets you draw a card with Ancient Pixie Dragon and returns Messengelato to the deck. You can also destroy an opponent's monster with Ancient Pixie Dragon.
  4. On your next turn, you can use Hootcake's effect to banish Wheeleder in your graveyard and Special Summon Puddingcess. Now with your graveyard empty of monsters Puddingcess will get her ATK boost.

Swarming

Summoner Monk
Summoner Monk
DARK Spellcaster ★4
ATK 800 / DEF 1600
Lord of Borrel [SR]
While this card is face-up on the field, it cannot be Tributed. If this card is Normal or Flip Summoned: Change this card to Defense Position. Once per turn: You can discard 1 Spell Card; Special Summon 1 Level 4 monster from your Deck, but that monster cannot attack this turn.

Summoner Monk is a Swarming Board monster that allows you to bring out another Level 4 Monster by discarding Spell Card. Although that Special Summoned monster cannot attack during that turn being summoned, you can still activate its' effect for combo play or directly dive into Xyz Summon or LINK Summon.

Madolche Mewfeuille

Madolche Mewfeuille
Madolche Mewfeuille
EARTH Beast ★3
ATK 500 / DEF 300
Burning Nova [R]
When this card you control is destroyed by your opponent's card (either by battle or by card effect) and sent to your Graveyard: Shuffle this card into your Deck. When this card is Normal Summoned: You can Special Summon 1 "Madolche" monster from your hand.

Similar to Hootcake, Mewfeuille is used to swarm your field with Madolche monsters. But while Hootcake Special Summons from the deck, Mewfeuille Special Summons from the hand. Since Madolche Mewfeuille is a Beast-Type monster, if you use its effect to Special Summon Madolche Messengelato you will also get to search your Field Spell.

For both monsters you don't want to Special Summon Magileine because her effect won't activate.

Synchro Monsters

Ancient Pixie Dragon
Ancient Pixie Dragon
DARK Dragon ★7
ATK 2100 / DEF 3000
Truth Universe [UR]
1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters
After resolving a Field Spell Card that was activated during your turn: Draw 1 card. You can only use this effect of "Ancient Pixie Dragon" once per turn. Once per turn: You can target 1 face-up Attack Position monster on the field; destroy that target. There must be a face-up Field Spell Card on the field to activate and to resolve this effect.

Ancient Pixie Dragon works well in most Field Spell reliant decks. The activation of the Field Spell lets you draw a card, recouping the resources spent on making Ancient Pixie Dragon. And since decks like Madolche want their Field Spell out earlier, you can immediately make use of Ancient Pixie Dragon's free removal effect.

Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Barrier
Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Barrier
WATER Sea Serpent ★6
ATK 2300 / DEF 1400
Aerial Assault [UR]
1 Tuner + 1+ non-Tuner monsters
You can discard any number of cards to the GY, then target the same number of cards your opponent controls; return those cards to the hand. You can only use this effect of "Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Barrier" once per turn.

With Chateau active, Madolche decks will practically always have their hand full with monsters. You can make use of this large amount of resources by discarding them as cost for Brionac and clearing your opponent's field. This makes Brionac the best Synchro to make when you are ready to OTK your opponent.

HTS Psyhemuth
HTS Psyhemuth
EARTH Psychic ★6
ATK 2400 / DEF 1800
Valhalla Calling [SR]
1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters
After damage calculation, when this card battles an opponent's monster: You can banish that monster, also banish this card.

Psyhemuth removes monsters that Brionac and Zeta cannot, which are monsters who are immune to targeting. This also bypassing floating effects that require the monster to be destroyed or "sent to the graveyard". However, this removal is quite costly because you essentially use up two monsters and an Extra Deck slot.

Naturia Barkion
Naturia Barkion
EARTH Dragon ★6
ATK 2500 / DEF 1800
Selection Box Vol. 03 [UR]
1 EARTH Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner EARTH monsters
During either player's turn, when a Trap Card is activated: You can banish 2 cards from your Graveyard; negate the activation, and if you do, destroy it. This card must be face-up on the field to activate and to resolve this effect.

Barkion helps with this deck's lack of protection by negating disruptive Trap cards. Barkion's effect cost also keeps your graveyard free of monsters, maintaining Puddingcess' ATK boost.

PSY-Framelord Zeta
PSY-Framelord Zeta
LIGHT Psychic ★7
ATK 2500 / DEF 1800
Future Horizon [R]
1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters
Once per turn, during either player's turn: You can target 1 Special Summoned monster your opponent controls in face-up Attack Position; banish both that monster and this card from the field, but return them in your next Standby Phase. If this card is in your Graveyard: You can target 1 other "PSY-Frame" card in your Graveyard; return this card to the Extra Deck, and if you do, add that target to your hand.

Zeta is a good way to get rid of an opponent's boss monster until you have some way of dealing with it. Banish Zeta and your opponent's boss monster until your next turn, and keep doing this whenever they come back. Then when you have another removal effect ready, use it to get rid of the boss monster. Remember to leave an empty monster zone for Zeta to come back to.

Yeah... puddingcess has to be unlimited the deck is a brick house whether you use switcheroo, monk or labyrinth builder. Not mentioning how fragile it is too.
If they are that afraid of tiaramisu (for some reason) a limit 1 to it should do, peting locks you into madolche only anyways I don't see why they are so scared of her

I don't see what's wrong with this list. The searcher is a madolche monster, the combo starters is a madolche monster, the boss monster is a madolche monster. Madolche monsters do all the work unlike others like "crusadia" where mekks carry.

What else do you want? Don't tell me you would rather have the deck filled with those random madolche monsters that make no sense.

I main Madolches in the TCG. I've been stocking gems in hopes for anjelly and the continuous spell madolche salon to be released. They'll be a great rank4 engine.

I would love to have the queen, but good Lord is she strong, even in the TCG. We probably won't see her until much later.

The Teacher can recycle handtraps like sphere kuribo with their field spell out. We probably won't see her sadly unless they want to semi-limit every handtrap in the game due to her.

Pettingcessour... She'll rip duel links in half without things like Ash Blossom to check her. Just her alone can give you a full field, and you'll still have a normal summon!
