When this card in your possession is destroyed by your opponent's card (either by battle or by card effect) and sent to your Graveyard: Shuffle this card into the Deck. You can target 1 monster in your Graveyard; banish it, and if you do, Special Summon 1 "Madolche" monster from your Deck, except "Madolche Hootcake". You can only use this effect of "Madolche Hootcake" once per turn.
Returning to the deck can lessen your consistency.
The strategy of Madolche decks don’t want monsters in their graveyard. This makes it difficult to have a monster in your graveyard to use as cost for Madolche Hootcake’s effect.
If ever there was a monster in your graveyard Madolche Hootcake can be good for clearing it and helping the Madolche strategy. However Madolches do not have any effects for retrieving banished cards so that monster is gone for the rest of the game.
With Madolche Chateau you will sometimes find your hand overflowing and needing to discard monsters. Madolche Hootcake can be useful for getting those monsters out of your graveyard.
Here are some of the monsters you can special summon with Madolche Hootcakes’s effect. All Madolche monsters have a similar effect of returning to the deck when they are destroyed and a second effect that usually supports this strategy.
Madolche Nights and Madolche Tea Break are excellent Negation cards and double as destruction when Madolche Puddingcess is on the field.
