Silent Elementsaber: deck recipe [Apr 2020]

Duel Links Silent Elementsaber deck, Silent Elementsaber in the meta, how to use Silent Elementsaber cards.
update 17/04/2020

Overview

“Elementsaber” is a recently released archetype of Warrior-Type monsters whose main strategy revolves around setting up the Graveyard and then changing their Attributes in order to fulfill the Summoning Conditions of any “Elemental Lord” monster.

Instead of playing Pyrorex the Elemental Lord and Windrose the Elemental Lord, for this version of the deck I decided to focus on the synergy this archetype has with Silent Swordsman in Duel Links thanks to the Skill Light and Dark.

How to Use

Silent Swordsman

Silent Swordsman
Silent Swordsman
LIGHT Warrior ★4
ATK 1000 / DEF 1000
Swordbound Silence [UR]
Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. Must be Special Summoned (from your hand) by Tributing 1 Warrior-Type monster, and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. Once per turn, during the Standby Phase: This card gains 500 ATK. Once per turn, during either player's turn, when a Spell Card is activated: You can negate the activation. If this card is destroyed by battle, or if this card in its owner's control is destroyed by an opponent's card effect: You can Special Summon 1 "Silent Swordsman" monster from your hand or Deck, except "Silent Swordsman", ignoring its Summoning conditions.

You can Special Summon Silent Swordsman by Tributing a Warrior-Type monster (any “Elementsaber”). Each Standby Phase Silent Swordsman gains 500 ATK, so, while its original ATK is pretty low, thanks to this effect, Palace of the Elemental Lords, and Silent Sword Slash, this monster can quickly become a pretty big threat.

In addition to the ability to, once per turn, negate the activation of a Spell Card, which is particularly relevant now that Banishment of the Darklords is in the game, when it’s destroyed by battle or by an opponent’s card effect, Silent Swordsman, similarly to its Spellcaster counterpart, allows you to Special Summon from your Deck or hand another “Silent Swordsman” monster.

The “Silent Swordsman” monster you more than likely want to Special Summon via Silent Swordsman’s effect is Silent Swordsman LV7, a 2800 ATK Warrior-Type monster that negates the effects of all Spell Cards on the field.

Since Silence Sword Slash’s effect can’t be negated, you will still be able to target Silent Swordsman LV7 with it and, since its activation can’t be negated either, an opponent’s Silent Magician or Legendary Six Samurai - Shi En will not be able to prevent you from activating it.

Silent Sword Slash

Silent Sword Slash
Silent Sword Slash
Quick Spell
Crusaders Battleground [R]
Swordbound Silence [R]
Target 1 "Silent Swordsman" monster you control; that target gains 1500 ATK and DEF, and if it does, it is unaffected by your opponent's card effects until the end of this turn. This card's activation and effect cannot be negated. You can banish this card from your Graveyard; add 1 "Silent Swordsman" monster from your Deck to your hand.

This Quick-Play Spell permanently increases the ATK and DEF of a “Silent Swordsman” monster you control by 1500 and, until the end of the turn, it makes that monster immune to your opponent’s card effects. Sphere Kuriboh, Enemy Controller and Drowning Mirror Force will not be able to stop your Silent Swordsman.

Elementsaber Makani & Palace of the Elemental Lords

Elementsaber Makani
Elementsaber Makani
WIND Warrior ★2
ATK 1300 / DEF 1200
Dark Dimension [N]
Once per turn: You can send 1 "Elementsaber" monster from your hand to the GY; add 1 "Elementsaber" or "Elemental Lord" monster from your Deck to your hand, except "Elementsaber Makani". Once per turn, if this card is in the GY: You can declare 1 Attribute; this card in the GY becomes that Attribute until the end of this turn.

Once per turn, by sending 1 "Elementsaber" monster from your hand to the GY, Elementsaber Makani allows you to add 1 "Elementsaber" or "Elemental Lord" monster from your Deck to your hand, except "Elementsaber Makani".

Normal Summon Makani, send any “Elementsaber” monster from your hand to the Graveyard, search Elementsaber Molehu, return Molehu to the Deck to add Silent Swordsman to your hand using Light and Dark, Special Summon Silent Swordsman by Tributing Makani. Now you can change the Attribute of Makani and, if necessary, of the other “Elementsaber” monster in your Graveyard to LIGHT and DARK, banish them and Special Summon Chaos Sorcerer.

Palace of the Elemental Lords
Palace of the Elemental Lords
Field Spell
Dark Dimension [SR]
All monsters you control gain ATK/DEF equal to the number of different Attributes in your GY x 200. Once per turn: You can add 1 "Elementsaber" monster from your Deck to your hand, but skip the Battle Phase of your next turn (even if this card leaves the field). Once per turn, if an "Elementsaber" monster in your hand or field would send a card(s) from the hand to the GY to activate an effect, you can send that many "Elementsaber" monster(s) from your Deck to the GY, instead.

If you have Palace of the Elemental Lords in your Field Zone, once per turn, if an “Elementsaber” monster would require you to send a card from your hand to the Graveyard in order to activate its effect, you can instead send that card to the GY directly from your Deck.

Being able to activate the effect of your “Elementsaber” monsters this way obviously makes a huge difference because it means that Makani can now search any other “Elementsaber” monster gratis and, thanks to Light and Dark, it also means that the Level 2 WIND Warrior can turn into a Silent Swordsman “by itself”.

In addition to boosting the ATK and DEF of all your monsters and changing the activation cost of the effects of your Elementsabers, once per turn, Palace of the Elemental Lords also allows you to add 1 “Elementsaber” monster from your Deck to your hand. You do have to skip the Battle Phase of your next turn, but this effect is a great way of recovering.

Elementsaber Molehu

Elementsaber Molehu
Elementsaber Molehu
DARK Warrior ★4
ATK 1900 / DEF 0
Dark Dimension [UR]
Once per turn (Quick Effect): You can send 1 "Elementsaber" monster from your hand to the GY, then target 1 face-up monster on the field; change it to face-down Defense Position. Once per turn, if this card is in the GY: You can declare 1 Attribute; this card in the GY becomes that Attribute until the end of this turn.

Once per turn, by sending 1 "Elementsaber" monster from your hand to the GY, Elementsaber Molehu allows you to flip a face-up monster on the field face-down. Molehu gives you interaction with your opponent during their turn, which is extremely valuable. It allows you to disrupt your opponent’s plays and, if the Palace of the Elemental Lords is in your Field Zone, you get to do it at no cost.

You can also activate Molehu’s effect during your own turn, which can be relevant if you’re trying to activate a Spell Card that can be negated while your opponent controls a Legendary Six Samurai - Shi En or a Silent Magician, if you want to force your opponent to activate a card or effect, or if you’re simply trying to get over a monster with high ATK but low DEF.

Skill Suggestion

This Skill gives a pretty unfair advantage to any deck that revolves around LIGHT and/or DARK monsters, giving it a considerable boost in consistency. The fact that you can get to Silent Swordsman and Elementsaber Molehu so easily is the main reason why this deck is able to function so well.

Weaknesses

  • Thanks to Light and Dark and Elementsaber Makani, you can get a Silent Swordsman out with relative ease, but that’s still only one monster on the field. Sure, Silent Swordsman can float into Silent Swordsman LV7, if nothing goes wrong, but it’s not like a Darklord Nasten after Beatdown is going to struggle to get over it.

  • Silent Swordsman can be returned to the hand (Legendary Six Samurai - Enishi and Six Style - Dual Wield), returned to the Deck (Drowning Mirror Force), banished (Subterror Behemoth Umastryx and Metaphys Daedalus), or even sent directly to the Graveyard (Lava Golem) in order to get around its floating effect. Additionally, Armades, Keeper of Boundaries, Ancient Gear Reactor Dragon and U.A. Mighty Slugger can destroy it by battle without allowing it to activate its effect.

  • Strong Trap Cards such as Treacherous Trap Hole and Wall of Disruption can be problematic to deal with if you don’t have Elementsaber Lapauila or Jinzo on the field.

  • Without the Palace of the Elemental Lords, activating the effects of your “Elementsaber” monsters is obviously a lot more costly.

Shame that this deck doesn't even make use of their own boss monsters. Why isn't there a variant that uses the Elemental Lords?

This deck is underrated, it's actually super powerful

I love the build. I've built something similiar with the Lord's but you only run 2 and you will have to ditch the sorcerer. However it is nasty if you get silent, lapuila, and Molehu on the field, you just need to make sure this happens earl. Running the elementsaber trap card helps alot as well as when your monsters targeted by an effect, in most cases they just wasted the effect.

Is there any way for any of these silent swordsman combination decks to be at least kog worthy without using the light and dark skill?
Anonymous
Silent swordsman says: "you better deck, because I'm about to turn left and I don't wanna smack you with my D*ck".
Spoiler Master
Good idea of using Elementsabers, but the end result is not good enough.

Just use dark and light Elementsabers (so Molehu and Lapauila), with 2x Silent Swordsman lv4 and 1x SS lev7 and 2x SSSlash, and 2 other warrior choices.

Now. Please use World Legacy Clash cuz it works with SS lev7, and counter traps Parshath Engine.
