Silent Magician LV8 | Decks and Tips

Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. Must be Special Summoned by "Silent Magician LV4" and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. This card is unaffected by your opponent's Spell effects.

• Strong base ATK.
• Immune to your opponent’s Spell effects.

• Defense is low which makes it an easy target when switched to defense position.
• You cannot normal summon or set this card.
• Special summoning requires multiple cards. Either through LV4's effect, Level Up!, or Level Modulation.

• Enemy Controller cannot be used on Silent Magician Lv 8, effectively disabling your opponent’s option to switch or take control of your Silent Magician Lv 8. Similarly, Super Rush Headlong’s effect does not affect Silent Magician Lv 8 therefore it cannot be destroyed by Super Rush Headlong.
• This card can still be targeted by your opponent's spell cards, but not affected by them. This means that your opponent can use cards like Soul Exchange, but unable to use it as tribute.
• However, Silent Magician Lv 8 is still vulnerable to position switching Trap cards such as Windstorm of Etaqua, Curse of Anubis or Pulse Mines. Other alternatives is to use monster effects like Black Brachio to switch Silent Magician Lv 8 to DEF position.
• If you are including this monster in Spellbook deck, be reminded it cannot be Special Summoned via Spellbook of Life’s effect.

You can use Level Up! on Silent Magician Lv 4 to Special Summon Silent Magician Lv 8 directly from your Hand or Deck.

With Silent Magician Lv8 on the Field, these cards can activate its effects as part of the Spellbook combo.

You can attack all your opponent's monsters with Silent Magician LV8 using Diffusion Wave-Motion by paying 1000 life points. It also negates the effect of the destroyed effect monsters.

Level Modulation ignores the summoning condition of LV monsters. You can use it to special summon Silent Magician LV8 from your Graveyard at the cost of your opponent drawing 2 cards. Also, Silent Magician LV8 cannot attack, nor activate or apply its effect this turn.

Since it's unaffected by your opponent's spell cards, it can only be stopped by their trap cards, and also Sphere Kuriboh. Bringing cards like Trap Jammer, or Seven Tools of the Bandit will almost ensure that your attack will go through. While Divine Wrath can stop cards like Sphere Kuriboh, Yomi Ship / Exploder Dragon, or Relinquished / The Atmosphere.

Since it's a quick-play spell card, you can use it during your opponent's turn to save your monster when you think it's in danger. Additionally, you can also use it during your turn after you attack with a higher level monster, then activate level down to special summon your lower level monster for extra damage. This is only recommended when you are certain that your attack will go through.
