How To Play

Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning

Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning
Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning
LIGHT Warrior ★8
ATK 3000 / DEF 2500
Selection Box Vol.05 [UR]
Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. Must first be Special Summoned (from your hand) by banishing 1 LIGHT and 1 DARK monster from your Graveyard. Once per turn, you can activate 1 of these effects.

● Target 1 monster on the field; banish that target face-up. This card cannot attack the turn you activate this effect.
● If this attacking card destroys an opponent's monster by battle, after damage calculation: It can make a second attack in a row.

Easily special summonable in this deck since there are LIGHT (Wightprincess) and DARK (Lunalight Monsters). Its effect is pretty decent for either monster removal or as an OTK option.

Lunalight Monsters

Lunalight Emerald Bird
Lunalight Emerald Bird
DARK Winged Beast ★4
ATK 1200 / DEF 1000
Judgement Force [N]
If this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can send 1 "Lunalight" card from your hand to the GY, and if you do, draw 1 card. If this card is sent to the GY by a card effect: You can target 1 of your Level 4 or lower "Lunalight" monsters that is banished or in your GY, except "Lunalight Emerald Bird"; Special Summon it in Defense Position, but negate its effects. You can only use each effect of "Lunalight Emerald Bird" once per turn.

To start your combo, Normal Summon Emerald Bird and send Lunalight Yellow Marten from the hand to the Graveyard to draw a card. If you don't have Yellow Marten onhand, you can discard Crimson Fox instead to reduce a monster's ATK to 0.

Lunalight Yellow Marten
Lunalight Yellow Marten
DARK Beast-Warrior ★4
ATK 800 / DEF 2000
Judgement Force [SR]
If this card is in your hand or GY: You can target 1 "Lunalight" card you control, except "Lunalight Yellow Marten"; return it to the hand, and if you do, Special Summon this card in Defense Position, but banish this card when it leaves the field. If this card is sent to the GY by a card effect: You can add 1 "Lunalight" Spell/Trap from your Deck to your hand. You can only use each effect of "Lunalight Yellow Marten" once per turn.

After being discarded by Emerald Bird, use Yellow Marten’s effect to search Lunalight Fusion.

Now you can return Emerald Bird to your hand to Special Summon Yellow Marten from your Graveyard, and then use them to Fusion Summon Cat Dancer with the Lunalight Fusion you searched. Yellow Marten can then immediately be revived by Emerald Bird's effect.

Lunalight Crimson Fox
Lunalight Crimson Fox
DARK Beast-Warrior ★4
ATK 1800 / DEF 600
Judgement Force [N]
If this card is sent to the Graveyard by a card effect: You can target 1 face-up monster your opponent controls; its ATK becomes 0 until the end of this turn. During either player's turn, when a card or effect is activated that targets a "Lunalight" monster(s) you control: You can banish this card from your Graveyard; negate the activation, and if you do, both players gain 1000 LP.

If you use Lunalight Crimson Fox as Fusion Material, or you simply discard it via Emerald Bird, you can target 1 face-up monster your opponent controls and reduce its ATK to 0 until the end of this turn. This obviously has incredible synergy with Cat Dancer’s ability to attack multiple times and can easily enable an OTK.

While in the Graveyard, you can use Crimson Fox to protect your Lunalight monsters from a targeting effect. This can help you get your Cat Dancer OTK through opponent's disruption. Giving her extra utility, and another reason to put her in the Graveyard.

Lunalight Purple Butterfly
Lunalight Purple Butterfly
DARK Beast-Warrior ★4
ATK 1000 / DEF 1000
Judgement Force [R]
You can send this card from your hand or field to the Graveyard, then target 1 "Lunalight" monster you control; it gains 1000 ATK until the end of this turn. You can banish this card from your Graveyard; Special Summon 1 "Lunalight" monster from your hand. You can only use this effect of "Lunalight Purple Butterfly" once per turn.

Boost up Lunalight Fusion Monster especially Sabre Dancer to get rid of Bigger Monster on your opponent's field. You can pair up with Crimson Fox combo to OTK your opponent easily.

Wightprincess

Wightprincess
Wightprincess
DARK Zombie ★3
ATK 1600 / DEF 0
Energy of Gigarays [R]
This card’s name becomes "Skull Servant" while it is in the Graveyard. If this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can send 1 "Wightprince" from your Deck to the Graveyard. During either player's turn: You can send this card from your hand or field to the Graveyard; all monsters currently on the field lose ATK and DEF equal to their own Level/Rank x 300, until the end of this turn.

Can be used during either players' turn makes this card more useful to prevent OTK from your opponent by reducing their ATK regarding to their own Level/Rank. After that, you can Special Summon BLS - Enboy of the Beginning by banishing this card and 1 Lunalight Monster from your Graveyard.

Lunalight Fusion

Lunalight Fusion
Lunalight Fusion
Normal Spell
Judgement Force [R]
Fusion Summon 1 "Lunalight" Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck, using monsters from your hand or field as Fusion Material. If your opponent controls a monster that was Special Summoned from the Extra Deck, you can also use 1 "Lunalight" monster in your Deck or Extra Deck as Fusion Material. You can only activate 1 "Lunalight Fusion" per turn.

Search Lunalight Fusion with Yellow Marten's effect as part of the combo mentioned in the section above. If you go second against most decks, there is a high chance your opponent will already have Extra Deck monsters on the field. This makes Lunalight Fusion much more powerful, allowing you to use monsters from your deck as material.

Using monsters as fusion material is considered sending them to the Graveyard by card effect. You can take advantage of this to trigger your Lunalight monsters’ effects. This is especially useful when using fusion materials from your deck letting you use effects on-demand, like Crimson Fox' debuff or Yellow Marten's search.

Fire Formation - Tenki

Fire Formation - Tenki
Fire Formation - Tenki
Continuous Spell
Eternal Stream [SR]
When this card is activated: You can add 1 Level 4 or lower Beast-Warrior-Type monster from your Deck to your hand. All Beast-Warrior-Type monsters you control gain 100 ATK. You can only activate 1 "Fire Formation - Tenki" per turn.

Since all Lunalight monsters are Beast Warriors, Tenki can let you search any monster in your Deck. The usual targets would be a Lunalight that can start your combos like Emerald Bird or Yellow Marten.

Extra Decks

Lunalight Cat Dancer
Lunalight Cat Dancer
DARK Beast-Warrior ★7
ATK 2400 / DEF 2000
Judgement Force [R]
2 "Lunalight" monsters
Cannot be destroyed by battle. Once per turn, during your Main Phase 1: You can Tribute 1 other "Lunalight" monster; for the rest of this turn, the first time each monster your opponent controls would be destroyed by battle, it is not destroyed, also this card can attack all monsters your opponent controls, twice each, this turn. If this card declares an attack: Inflict 100 damage to your opponent.

Cat Dancer will be your main damage dealer. Her effect is a bit unusual giving your opponent's monster protection from battle destruction, but its purpose is to let you get in more attacks to deal more battle and burn damage. This effect is especially deadly when combined with Crimson Fox' debuff.

Your combo with Emerald Bird and Yellow Marten usually ends with summoning Cat Dancer. To restate the combo mentioned in the section above, Emerald Bird discards Yellow Marten, which searches Lunalight Fusion. Yellow Marten revives herself by returning Emerald Bird to the hand. Use both monsters as fusion material to make Cat Dancer, then Emerald Bird revives Yellow Marten. You can then tribute Yellow Marten for Cat Dancer's effect.

If your opponent controls an Extra Deck monster, modify the combo after you revive Yellow Marten. Instead of using Emerald Bird and Yellow Marten as material, use Crimson Fox and Sabre Dancer from your Deck and Extra Deck. Tribute the self-revived Yellow Marten for Cat Dancer's effect. This combo will also 0 an enemy monster's ATK for Cat Dancer's OTK, while preparing 2 good Graveyard effects.

Lunalight Sabre Dancer
Lunalight Sabre Dancer
DARK Beast-Warrior ★9
ATK 3000 / DEF 2600
Judgement Force [SR]
3 "Lunalight" monsters
Must be Fusion Summoned. Gains 200 ATK for each Beast-Warrior monster that is banished or in the GYs. Your opponent cannot target this card with card effects. During your Main Phase, except the turn this card was sent to the GY: You can banish this card from your GY, then target 1 Fusion Monster you control; it gains 3000 ATK until the end of this turn. You can only use this effect of "Lunalight Sabre Dancer" once per turn.

With higher overall stats and protection from targeting, Sabre Dancer is a better turn 1 option than Cat Dancer if you can make her. If your opponent manages to remove Sabre Dancer, you can use her graveyard effect during your turn for a comeback OTK. Sabre Dancer is also a good monster to mill with Lunalight Fusion.

Brotherhood of the Fire Fist - Tiger King
Brotherhood of the Fire Fist - Tiger King
FIRE Beast-Warrior ★4
ATK 2200 / DEF 1800
Eternal Stream [UR]
2 Level 4 Beast-Warrior-Type monsters
When this card is Xyz Summoned: You can Set 1 "Fire Formation" Spell/Trap Card directly from your Deck. Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; negate the effects of all face-up Effect Monsters currently on the field, except Beast-Warrior-Type, until the end of your opponent's turn. When this card is sent from the field to the Graveyard: You can send 3 "Fire Formation" Spell/Trap Cards you control to the Graveyard; Special Summon 2 Level 4 or lower Beast-Warrior-Type monsters with the same ATK from your Deck, in face-up Defense Position.

Upon summoning Tiger King, you get to fetch Tenki which results in fetching another Beast-Warrior monster, great for resource gain. The mass effect negation is very powerful because it can shut off powerful effects, like Cyber Slash Harpie Lady. Lastly, Tiger King floats into two Level-4 monsters letting you set up your next Xyz play. However, you do need to clog your entire backrow for this to work.

Number 70: Malevolent Sin
Number 70: Malevolent Sin
DARK Insect ★4
ATK 2400 / DEF 1200
Photons of Galaxy [SR]
2 Level 4 monsters
Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 monster your opponent controls; banish it until your opponent's next Standby Phase. At the end of the Damage Step, if this card attacked: You can make this card gain 300 ATK, and if you do, increase its Rank by 3.

Malevolent Sin is an anti-Xyz tech. Summon Malevolent Sin and use its effect to temporarily banish an enemy Xyz monster. The Xyz monster will return with no materials attached to it.

Photon Papilloperative
Photon Papilloperative
LIGHT Warrior ★4
ATK 2100 / DEF 1800
Photons of Galaxy [R]
2 Level 4 monsters
Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 Defense Position monster on the field; change it to face-up Attack Position, and if you do, it loses 600 ATK.

Having this as an option lets you force your opponent into attack position so you can deal some damage and potentially OTK with just 1 attack.

Weaknesses

  • Crimson Fox doesn’t protect your “Lunalight” Fusion Monsters from everything; Drowning Mirror Force, Mirror Wall and Wall of Disruption do not target and thus they cannot be negated. Lava Golem is another card that can get rid of your Cat Dancer even if you have Crimson Fox in the Graveyard.

  • Floodgate Trap Hole and Canadia might not prevent you from Fusion Summoning since you can use face-down monsters as Fusion Material but, in order to Special Summon Yellow Marten, you do need to target a face-up Lunalight card. For the Predaplant version, this will also prevent Chlamynosundew from activating.

Other Useful Cards

Block Attack

Sphere Kuriboh
Sphere Kuriboh
DARK Fiend ★1
ATK 300 / DEF 200
The Ultimate Rising [UR]
Selection Box Vol. 01 [UR]
When an opponent's monster declares an attack: You can send this card from your hand to the Graveyard; change the attacking monster to Defense Position. When you Ritual Summon a monster, you can banish this card from your Graveyard as 1 of the monsters required for the Ritual Summon.

Use to block any attack and change enemy monster to defense position.

Predaplant Engine

Predaplant Chlamydosundew
Predaplant Chlamydosundew
DARK Plant ★2
ATK 600 / DEF 200
Witchs Sorcery [R]
Monsters with a Predator Counter that you use as Fusion Materials are treated as DARK. During your Main Phase: You can Fusion Summon 1 DARK Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck, using this card on the field and monsters from your hand, field, and/or monsters with a Predator Counter your opponent controls as Fusion Materials. You can only use this effect of "Predaplant Chlamydosundew" once per turn.

All Lunalight monsters are DARK, so you can pair any Lunalight you have onhand with Chlamydosundew to make Chimeraflessia. This will trigger the effect of the Lunalight monster, so it is best to pair Chlamydosundew with Yellow Marten to search Lunalight Fusion or with Crimson Fox to debuff a monster.

Predaplant Chimerafflesia
Predaplant Chimerafflesia
DARK Plant ★7
ATK 2500 / DEF 2000
Witchs Sorcery [UR]
1 "Predaplant" monster + 1 DARK monster
Once per turn: You can target 1 monster on the field with a Level less than or equal to this card's; banish it. When an attack is declared involving this card and an opponent's face-up monster: You can activate this effect; until the end of this turn, that opponent's monster loses 1000 ATK, and if it does, this card gains 1000 ATK. Once per turn, during the next Standby Phase after this card was sent to the Graveyard: You can add 1 "Polymerization" Spell Card or "Fusion" Spell Card from your Deck to your hand.

Chimeraflessia is a good alternate boss monster that works well even on its own. His first effect is a free once per turn removal effect that banishes an opponent's monster. The banishing bypasses some floating effects, and prevents the removed monster from using its graveyard effect. And because this removal does not destroy, you can get around protection like Archfiend Zombie-Skull. The downside is you can only use this on level-7 and lower monsters so bigger boss monsters like Shiranui Sunsaga are safe.

The second effect makes Chimerafflesia practically unbeatable in battle, unless your opponent has a monster higher than 4500 ATK. Also watch out for monster effect negation like Witchcrafter Madame Verre, because Chimerafflesia's 2500 base ATK is not that good.

To top it off, Chimerafflesia can search Lunalight Fusion when he is sent to the graveyard. This lets you make another Fusion monster to fall back on when Chimerafflesia is removed by your opponent. And at this point, your opponent will most likely have at least one Extra Deck monster giving you Lunalight Fusion's full effect.

Ritual Beast Engine

Spiritual Beast Tamer Winda
Spiritual Beast Tamer Winda
WIND Psychic ★4
ATK 1600 / DEF 1800
Spirit of the Beast [UR]
Selection Box Vol.04 [UR]
If this card in its owner's possession is destroyed by an opponent's card (by battle or card effect): You can Special Summon 1 "Ritual Beast" monster from your Deck or Extra Deck, ignoring its Summoning conditions. You can only Special Summon "Spiritual Beast Tamer Winda(s)" once per turn.

Winda is the only card you need to tech into the Main Deck for this engine to work. Due to the engine's small size and not requiring any combos to be performed, it won't hurt your consistency at all. Just summon Winda and crash it into an enemy monster to summon Ulti-Apelio, or set Winda and summon Ulti-Pettlephin on the opponent's Battle Phase as a wall.

Having Winda destroyed is also the best opportunity to activate Reincarnation Dance.

Ritual Beast Ulti-Apelio
Ritual Beast Ulti-Apelio
WIND Pyro ★6
ATK 2600 / DEF 400
Spirit of the Beast [UR]
Selection Box Vol.04 [UR]
1 "Ritual Beast Tamer" monster + 1 "Spiritual Beast" monster
Must be Special Summoned (from your Extra Deck) by banishing the above cards you control, and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. (You do not use "Polymerization".) If this card attacks, it is unaffected by other cards' effects until the end of the Damage Step. During either player's turn: You can return this card you control to the Extra Deck, then target 2 of your banished monsters (1 "Ritual Beast Tamer" monster and 1 "Spiritual Beast" monster); Special Summon them in Defense Position.

Ulti-Apelio is the offense option in the Ritual Beast Engine. It has decent ATK stat, but its best trait is the immunity to all card effects during battle. This protects Ulti-Apelio from battle traps such as Drowning Mirror Force and Sphere Kuriboh.

Ritual Beast Ulti-Pettlephin
Ritual Beast Ulti-Pettlephin
WIND Aqua ★6
ATK 200 / DEF 2800
Spirit of the Beast [R]
1 "Ritual Beast Tamer" monster + 1 "Spiritual Beast" monster
Must be Special Summoned (from your Extra Deck) by banishing the above cards you control, and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. (You do not use "Polymerization".) Cannot be destroyed by card effects. During either player's turn: You can return this card you control to the Extra Deck, then target 2 of your banished monsters (1 "Ritual Beast Tamer" monster and 1 "Spiritual Beast" monster); Special Summon them in Defense Position.

Ulti-Pettlephin is the Ritual Beast Engine's defense option. Summon it when your opponent attacks into Winda to wall subsequent attacks. The high DEF and destruction immunity helps Pettlephin stay on the field longer.

Kuriboh

Kuriboh
Kuriboh
DARK Fiend ★1
ATK 300 / DEF 200
Ranked Rewards [SR]
During your opponent's turn, at damage calculation: You can discard this card; you take no battle damage from that battle (this is a Quick Effect).

Use to block directs and lethal battle damage.

Artifact Vajra

Artifact Vajra
Artifact Vajra
LIGHT Fairy ★5
ATK 1800 / DEF 1900
Sera Unlock Event - Transcend Game Part 2 [UR]
You can Set this card from your hand to your Spell & Trap Zone as a Spell Card. During your opponent's turn, when this Set card in the Spell & Trap Zone is destroyed and sent to your Graveyard: Special Summon it. If this card is Special Summoned during your opponent's turn: Destroy all cards in your Spell & Trap Zone. When a monster your opponent controls declares a direct attack: You can Special Summon this card from your hand.

Forbidden Dress

Forbidden Dress
Forbidden Dress
Quick Spell
Primal Burst [UR]
Target 1 face-up monster on the field; until the end of this turn, that target loses 600 ATK, but cannot be targeted or destroyed by other card effects.

You can use Forbidden Dress to protect your monster from being destroyed or targeted by card effects like Karma Cut or Fiendish Chain. However, this card is not working against not-target cards like Floodgate Trap Hole.

Lunalight Reincarnation Dance

Lunalight Reincarnation Dance
Lunalight Reincarnation Dance
Normal Trap
Judgement Force [R]
If a monster(s) you control is destroyed by battle or card effect: Add up to 2 "Lunalight" monsters from your Deck to your hand. You can only activate 1 "Lunalight Reincarnation Dance" per turn.

Fetches two Lunalight monsters which is good for maintaining your resource count. Ideally, the two monsters you want to fetch are Emerald Bird and Yellow Marten for their combo.

Other Extra Decks

Diamond Dire Wolf
Diamond Dire Wolf
EARTH Beast ★4
ATK 2000 / DEF 1200
Voltage of the Metal [SR]
2 Level 4 monsters
Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 Beast, Beast-Warrior, or Winged Beast-Type monster you control and 1 other card on the field; destroy them.

A decent Xyz to make for quick backrow/monster removal.

Number C39: Utopia Ray
Number C39: Utopia Ray
LIGHT Warrior ★4
ATK 2500 / DEF 2000
Infinite Ray [UR]
3 Level 4 LIGHT monsters
You can also Xyz Summon this card by using a "Number 39: Utopia" you control as the Xyz Material. (Xyz Materials attached to that monster also become Xyz Materials on this card.) You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; it gains 500 ATK and 1 monster your opponent controls loses 1000 ATK, until the End Phase. You must have 1000 Life Points or less to activate and to resolve this effect.
Number 50: Blackship of Corn
Number 50: Blackship of Corn
DARK Plant ★4
ATK 2100 / DEF 1500
Voltage of the Metal [SR]
2 Level 4 monsters
Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 face-up monster your opponent controls with ATK less than or equal to this card's; send it to the Graveyard, and if you do, inflict 1000 damage to your opponent. This card cannot attack the turn you activate this effect.

Could anybody please explain why my [Crimson Fox]'s "sent to GY" effect wasn't triggered in this duel?

I surrendered because I was counting on reducing my opponent's monster's ATK to 0 but, after triggering [Emerald Bird]'s "sent to GY" effect, the game only offered me the option of triggering [Cat Dancer's] effect or moving to Battle Phase; effectively forfeiting [Crimson Fox]'s effect. I've used that combo several times!

I've watched the replay carefully, but couldn't gather anything of it. Should I report something here?

I don't think so. It's not popular enough, despite being good.

I expect Shiranui Squire to be limited to 2. She's too good. Thankfully I didn't attempt to get a third copy.

Popularity is not a consideration for Komoney in determining a new banlist. Many cards in the current banlist are not popular and never generally found in tier 1 deck before.

This deck deserved to be tiered.

This is the same degenarative OTK deck like blackwings that spammed Hey Trunade and Raikiri ! Limit !

So? Every deck has counters. Doesn’t mean it’s not overpowered. I said it’s OP, not unbeatable.

Decks can tech in Necrovalley to shut down pretty much every GY based deck in the meta right now, doesn’t mean decks like Pre nerf Grass Shira and Darklords aren’t broken.

Semi-limit some of the Normal rarity cards. Then no more TTH or Kiteroid for this deck.
Anonymous
Some great cards that you can use with Lunalights:
-Caninetaur, send Crimson Fox to the graveyard to make the monster that you are attacking have 0 attack.
-Akz the Pumer, you can banish 2 beast warriors from the GY to summon him and either directly attack their life points or double his attack into 3000.
-Spiritual forest, it makes all beast warrior, beasts, and plants you control not be destroyed by your opponents firs attack.
Can also use Field of the Warriors skill or Dark as Night skill for a little attack boost

Those aren't really "great" cards but they are quite interesting options.

Caninetaur is the best choice as a staller. Can also use him to discard Yellow Luna Light in your deck.

So tired of this deck already. At least limit some of it’s more degenerate cards so that they don’t have access to kiteroid.
