Ballista Squad | Normal Trap |
Fortress of Gears [UR] | |
Tribute 1 monster, then target 1 card your opponent controls; destroy it. |
Since 009 can special summon 2 monsters on its own, some Deskbots can be treated as expendable monsters. There are likely going to be times where you want to clear up some space to use other Deskbots or make synchro plays as well, so using Ballista Squad is a good way to clear up a space and destroy a card.
Paleozoic Canadia | Normal Trap |
Valiant Souls [UR] | |
Target 1 face-up monster your opponent controls; change it to face-down Defense Position. Once per Chain, when a Trap Card is activated while this card is in your Graveyard: Special Summon this card as a Normal Monster (Aqua-Type/WATER/Level 2/ATK 1200/DEF 0). (This card is NOT treated as a Trap Card.) If Summoned this way, this card is unaffected by monster effects, also banish it when it leaves the field. |
Not as strong as something like Floodgate Trap Hole, but it still works quite well, especially if you also use level 3 monsters so that you can go into a rank 3 XYZ.
Super Team Buddy Force Unite! | Normal Trap |
Spirit of the Beast [SR] Selection Box Vol. 02 Mini [SR]
Target 1 face-up monster on the field; Special Summon 1 monster from your hand or GY, with the same original Type as that monster's, but with a different original name. If this card in its owner's Spell & Trap Zone is destroyed by an opponent's card effect: You can Set 1 "Super Team Buddy Force Unite!" directly from your Deck to your Spell & Trap Zone. |
Together with 004 or 002, this becomes a decent card to special summon monsters since you'll be able to reliably get specific monsters from the deck, and reviving them activates their on-summon effect for more combos.
Debunk | Counter Trap |
Card Trader [SR] | |
When a monster effect is activated in the hand or Graveyard: Negate its activation, and if you do, banish it. |
Many decks in the meta often uses effect related to the graveyard. While it seems somewhat situational, it can work somewhat often and can be the card winning game when it works. It's also an easy tech since you can buy it from the card trader instead of using gems.
Trishula, the Dragon of Icy Imprisonment | WATER Dragon ★9 ATK 2700 / DEF 2000 |
Arena of Sanctuary [UR]
3 monsters with different names Must first be either Fusion Summoned using only monsters in your hand and/or field, or Special Summoned (from your Extra Deck) by banishing the above cards you control (in which case you do not use "Polymerization"). If this card was Special Summoned using only monsters that were originally Dragons: You can reveal and banish 3 cards (1 from your Deck, 1 from the top of your opponent's Deck, and 1 from their Extra Deck). You can only use this effect of "Trishula, the Dragon of Icy Imprisonment" once per turn. |
Mainly used to unclog your field if your cards ever get Floodgate Trap Hole or Fiendish Chain'ed since they are somewhat commonly used. The effect of banishing is unusable in this deck since there are no Dragon-type cards.
Scrap Dragon | EARTH Dragon ★8 ATK 2800 / DEF 2000 |
Valhalla Calling [UR] | |
1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters Once per turn: You can target 1 card you control and 1 card your opponent controls; destroy them. When this card is destroyed by your opponent's card (either by battle or by card effect) and sent to the Graveyard: Target 1 non-Synchro "Scrap" monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon that target. |
A decent form of removal, but mostly situational because of its level. It has a pretty high attack too so you're most likely able to destroy a monster from Wheeleder's effect as well.
Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Barrier | WATER Sea Serpent ★6 ATK 2300 / DEF 1400 |
Aerial Assault [UR] Selection Box Vol.04 [UR]
1 Tuner + 1+ non-Tuner monsters You can discard any number of cards to the GY, then target the same number of cards your opponent controls; return those cards to the hand. You can only use this effect of "Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Barrier" once per turn. |
A very powerful generic level 6 synchro since it can return multiple cards in a turn. Sending Deskbots to the grave can help with setting up your graveyard to be special summoned using 004's effect as well.
Naturia Barkion | EARTH Dragon ★6 ATK 2500 / DEF 1800 |
Infernity Destruction [SR] Selection Box Vol. 03 [SR]
1 EARTH Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner EARTH monsters During either player's turn, when a Trap Card is activated: You can banish 2 cards from your Graveyard; negate the activation, and if you do, destroy it. This card must be face-up on the field to activate and to resolve this effect. |
Better in the later turns when you have more cards in your graveyard other than the 2 that you used to synchro into this. The effect is like a lite version of 009, and can help secure games against trap heavy decks.
Decent 2500 ATK too so Wheeleder can potentially destroy something.
Armades, Keeper of Boundaries | LIGHT Fiend ★5 ATK 2300 / DEF 1500 |
Secrets of the Ancients [UR]
1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters If this card attacks or is attacked, your opponent cannot activate cards or effects until the end of the Damage Step. |
When you revive Deskbot 001 with Deskbot 004's effect, you have the option of making Armades on your next turn. All your Deskbots might have higher ATK potential than Armades when you use their effects, but summoning Armades gives you a beater with decent base stats. Additionally, like Deskbot 009 it locks your opponent out of using effects when it battles.
Old Entity Hastorr | WIND Reptile ★4 ATK 2300 / DEF 1000 |
Masters of Shadow [SR] | |
1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters If this card is sent from the Monster Zone to the Graveyard: You can target 1 face-up monster your opponent controls; equip this card from your Graveyard to that monster. That monster cannot attack, also its effects are negated. If this card leaves the field while equipped to an opponent's monster by this effect: Take control of the monster this card was equipped to. |
Hastorr is the easiest Synchro to make in this deck, just Special Summon Deskbot 001 with Deskbot 003's effect upon being Normal Summoned. Hastorr's effect activates when it is sent to the graveyard, doesn't matter if it was a destruction effect or not, so it is quite hard for your opponent to avoid. It attaches itself to an opponent's monster, giving it a Fiendish Rhino Warrior-like debuff. Your opponent can't even get rid of Hastorr unless they want to give you their monster.
However your opponent can still use the monster Hastorr is attached to as tribute fodder, synchro material, etc. to get rid of it without giving you their monster. Knowing this, you should only use Hastorr when your opponent's boss monster is out.
Samurai Destroyer | EARTH Machine ★7 ATK 2600 / DEF 1400 |
Dark Dimension [R] | |
1 Tuner + 1+ non-Tuner monsters If this card battles an opponent's monster, your opponent cannot activate cards or effects until the end of the Damage Step, also that opponent's monster has its effects negated during the Battle Phase only. If this face-up card in its owner's control leaves the field because of an opponent's card effect: You can target 1 Machine monster in your GY; Special Summon it. |
Effect mostly works the same way as 009, but this only works when you're attacking a monster. Summoning this is also not as quick as easy as going into a level 6 synchro since you can't special summon Wheeleder with a level 4. However, it can be worth considering since the effect is still good, and it has some floating effect that works with Deskbots.
Constellar Ptolemy M7 | LIGHT Machine ★6 ATK 2700 / DEF 2000 |
Infinite Ray [UR] Selection Box Vol.03 Mini [UR] [UR]
2 Level 6 monsters You can also Xyz Summon this card by using a "Constellar" Xyz Monster you control as the Xyz Material, other than "Constellar Ptolemy M7". (Xyz Materials attached to that monster also become Xyz Materials on this card.) If Summoned this way, the following effect cannot be activated this turn. Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 monster on the field or in either player's Graveyard; return that target to the hand. |
Decent ATK with a monster removal or to recover a card from your grave, and it can still attack after using it.
Number 61: Volcasaurus | FIRE Dinosaur ★5 ATK 2500 / DEF 1000 |
Rage of Volcano [UR] | |
2 Level 5 monsters Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 face-up monster your opponent controls; destroy that opponent's monster, and if you do, inflict damage to your opponent equal half to the destroyed monster's original ATK. This card cannot attack your opponent directly during the turn you activate this effect. |
005 is pretty useful to destroy a spell/trap your opponent controls, having this can make it a good follow-up after summoning 2 005 on the field so you can remove a monster afterward. Since it can't attack after using its effect, you can then use it to special summon Thunder Charger.
Tiras, Keeper of Genesis | LIGHT Fairy ★5 ATK 2600 / DEF 1700 |
Rage of Volcano [SR] | |
2 Level 5 monsters This card's effects can only be applied/resolved while it has Xyz Material. This card cannot be destroyed by card effects. At the end of the Battle Phase, if this card attacked or was attacked: Target 1 card your opponent controls; destroy that target. During each of your End Phases: Detach 1 Xyz Material from this card. |
A follow-up to a rank 5 or 6 if you need a higher ATK monster that has a piercing effect.
Gear Gigant X | EARTH Machine ★4 ATK 2300 / DEF 1500 |
Voltage of the Metal [UR]
2 Level 4 Machine-Type monsters Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; add 1 Level 4 or lower Machine-Type monster from your Deck or Graveyard to your hand. When this card leaves the field: You can target 1 Level 3 or lower "Geargia" monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon that target. |
Against decks that play more passively, you can use this to get a more consistent form of search effect.
The Phantom Knights of Break Sword | DARK Warrior ★3 ATK 2000 / DEF 1000 |
Phantom of Rebellion [SR]
2 Level 3 monsters Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 card you control and 1 card your opponent controls; destroy them. If this Xyz Summoned card is destroyed: You can target 2 "The Phantom Knights" monsters with the same Level in your Graveyard; Special Summon them and increase their Levels by 1, also you cannot Special Summon monsters for the rest of this turn, except DARK monsters. |
With no phantom knights in the deck, it's not going to have a further follow-up from itself, it's simply used for its card removal effect. The benefit is that you can destroy any other card you control.
If you have both scales to pendulum summon, you can use a pendulum monster as the cost for its card removal effect so you can bring it back to the field.
Ghostrick Alucard | DARK Zombie ★3 ATK 1800 / DEF 1600 |
Photons of Galaxy [SR] | |
2 Level 3 monsters Monsters your opponent controls cannot target face-up "Ghostrick" monsters, or any face-down Defense Position monsters, for attacks, except this one. You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 Set card your opponent controls; destroy that target. You can only use this effect of "Ghostrick Alucard" once per turn. If this card is sent to the Graveyard: You can target 1 other "Ghostrick" card in your Graveyard; add that target to your hand. |
Useful as a backrow remover so you can more safely do your plays.
Soul of Silvermountain | EARTH Rock ★3 ATK 1800 / DEF 2200 |
Shark Fang [R] | |
2 Level 3 EARTH monsters Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card to target 1 Set card in your opponent's Spell & Trap Card Zone; it cannot be activated while this card is face-up on the field. If this card destroys an opponent's monster by battle while it has Xyz Material: You can target 1 EARTH monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon that target in face-up Defense Position. |
This can help force your opponent to use their set card before you make big plays and commit with 009 into battle.
The last effect of this card can be situationally useful against certain decks like Harpies. But this is mainly just used to negate monster effects.
