Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. Must first be Special Summoned (from your hand) by banishing 2 monsters you control and 1 monster from your Graveyard. Once per turn: You can target 1 face-up monster your opponent controls; equip that target to this card. (You can only equip 1 monster at a time to this card with this effect.) This card gains ATK and DEF equal to the ATK and DEF of that equipped monster.

Evaluation

Rating9.0/10

Pros

  • Able to steal an opponent's monster and equip it to this card.
  • Good synergy with other banish-supporting cards.

Cons

  • Cannot be normal summoned or set.
  • Can be difficult to summon.
  • Low base stats.

Tips

Swarm monsters

Use cards like The Agent of Creation - Venus, Bubonic Vermin, or Caligo Claw Crow to make it much easier to summon this card.

Destroy your equip

Similar to Relinquished, cards that can destroy the equip card like Interdimensional Matter Transporter, Release Restraint Wave or Storm will let you equip another monster again on the next turn.

Tokens can be used as tribute

Use tokens as cost for summoning The Atmosphere. This makes him easier less costly to summon.

Rulings

  • Token monsters can be removed to special summon The Atmosphere.
  • The Atmosphere in the graveyard that is special summoned can be special summoned from the graveyard using revive card effects.

Very difficult to summon? You must be joking if this card is "very difficult to summon." Some things to be considered...

1. The monster can be ANYTHING, not limited to 1 type or attribute.
2. This is a FREAKING SPECIAL SUMMON. Means that 2 tributes isn't as hard as you think.

Say, you have a monster and you can stall 1 turn. Then you normal summon a monster next turn. On the same turn, after you normal summon, you can summon this card. It's not hard (unlike enrise).

Best combo is with sphere kuriboh (sigh, another sphere kuriboh. I really need a 2nd copy of this card for this and Necrofear).

Thought the same thing: harder to summon than 1-tribute monsters, sure, but easier than 2-tribute monsters.

and you can use any token to summon it to i guess

You only need 1 tribute for this card.

I can see this monster work really well in a venus deck, possible OTK there too.

This card is not out yet. I have checked the Neo Impact deck and it is not there. He is NOT in the game.

LOL. This is another freaking relinquished...

Its more stronger than him. Lol

Only thing is that relinquished can use the equipped monster to survive a battle. This thing can't. Then again, it'll probably be strong enough that only card effects can 🔥 it anyway.

I just pulled this card! any tips?

Use cards that can fill the field quickly. Anything that can summon tokens is perfect, since it's not a tribute summon. Besides the mentioned cards in the thread, Twin-Headed Behemoth can work, Blockman has some serious potential too if you have a way to stall while it's face-up. On the 2nd turn you can tribute it for 2 tokens so then you immediatly meet all requirements for the summon.

Use the card light impulse from Valkyrie's rage pack, because what it does is you can send two cards, one should be a monster, so you have 2 tokens on the field and 2 monsters in the gravyard

Light impulse only works for tribute summons. Try venus instead. She can summon up to two shine balls for you to tribute. Bonus points if you have order to charge because that's one tribute in your graveyard AND an opponent's monster destroyed all at once.

Better version of relinquish

But, couldn't atmosphere take control of relinquished XD

You serious? Relinquished is way stronger than this 🔥 for all the possible reasons! Easier to summon. Stronger effect. Etc

Relinquished

This card's ATK and DEF become equal to that equipped monster's. If this card would be destroyed by battle, destroy that equipped monster instead.

Atmosphere

This card gains ATK and DEF equal to the ATK and DEF of that equipped monster.

Reverse Trap will easily destroy the Atmosphere by dropping its atk to zero.
Just run this along with Possessed Dark Soul to counter both!

To be fair 90% of the time, you wouldn't want to target a face down card with the atmosphere. The only reason this is good with Relinquish is because of its other two effects.

Why don't you say something? Are you dead too?

Never mind just tested it out myself and it is after the attack reduction.
