Nekroz Ritual Monsters

Nekroz of Brionac
Nekroz of Brionac
WATER Warrior ★6
ATK 2300 / DEF 1400
Chaotic Soldiers [UR]
You can Ritual Summon this card with any "Nekroz" Ritual Spell. Must be Ritual Summoned, without using "Nekroz of Brionac". You can only use each of these effects of "Nekroz of Brionac" once per turn.

● You can discard this card; add 1 "Nekroz" monster from your Deck to your hand, except "Nekroz of Brionac".
● You can target up to 2 face-up monsters on the field that were Special Summoned from the Extra Deck; shuffle them into the Deck.

It's an important searcher for any Nekroz monster:

  • Valkyrus is often a safe choice to search for because of its powerful effect to end the battle phase.
  • If you already have Cycle/Mirror, search for Shurit.
  • If Shurit and a ritual spell are in hand; Gungnir is good if you get turn 1, while Trishula is if you can activate it.
  • If you already have a Nekroz monster on the field; Decisive Armor gives an ATK boost, Gungnir protects it from destruction, while Trishula negates cards that target your Nekroz monsters.

After you use its search effect, you can ritual summon it from the grave by using Nekroz Cycle and Shurit from the hand. Using Shurit as the material for ritual summoning will activate Shurit's effect to search a Brionac from your deck.

Its on-field effect is VERY useful if you go against extra deck monsters, but it's pretty situational and kind of slow, giving your opponent a chance to stop it from happening. Have a Gungnir/Trishula in hand so you can either protect Brionac from destruction targeted effects.

Nekroz of Trishula
Nekroz of Trishula
WATER Warrior ★9
ATK 2700 / DEF 2000
Maximum Gustav [SR]
You can Ritual Summon this card with any "Nekroz" Ritual Spell Card. Must be Ritual Summoned without using any Level 9 monsters, and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. You can only use each of these effects of "Nekroz of Trishula" once per turn.

● During either player's turn, when a card or effect is activated that targets a "Nekroz" monster(s) you control: You can discard this card; negate the activation.
● When this card is Ritual Summoned, you can: Banish exactly 3 of your opponent's cards, 1 each from their hand, field, and Graveyard. (The card in the hand is chosen at random.)

This card is searchable with Brionac and Shurit. It's an incredibly strong monster to summon because of its powerful effect that can remove multiple cards without targeting, and it works on-summon too. However, this only works when your opponent has a card in each place. Even if it doesn't work, it's at least a good beater with 2700 ATK.

It's not a good card to bring out if you get turn 1, but more for turn 2 onwards. You can start the turn by summoning this to use its effect, or to force your opponent's backrow. If Trishula gets destroyed or removed from the field, you'll be able to activate Cycle/Mirror in the grave to search for another ritual spell to make another play.

The hand effect can protect your monsters from being targeted, which is useful if your monsters are going to get hit with something like Chalice or Lance.

Nekroz of Decisive Armor
Nekroz of Decisive Armor
WATER Dragon ★10
ATK 3300 / DEF 2300
Judgement Force [R]
You can Ritual Summon this card with any "Nekroz" Ritual Spell Card. Must be Ritual Summoned without using any Level 10 monsters, and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. You can only use each of these effects of "Nekroz of Decisive Armor" once per turn.
● During either player's turn: You can discard this card, then target 1 "Nekroz" monster you control; it gains 1000 ATK and DEF until the end of this turn.
● You can target 1 Set card your opponent controls; destroy it, and if you do, banish it.

Has the highest base ATK out of all the Nekroz ritual monsters. Because of Shurit's effect, summoning a high-level ritual monster like this isn't an issue compared to most other ritual decks.

Even if you can't summon it on the field, its hand effect helps your other Nekroz monsters get an attack boost. Since the other Nekroz ritual monsters are above 2000 ATK, giving a +1000 ATK increase makes them over 3000+ ATK to beat over most monsters in the game.

Nekroz of Valkyrus
Nekroz of Valkyrus
WATER Spellcaster ★8
ATK 2900 / DEF 1700
Judgement Force [R]
You can Ritual Summon this card with any "Nekroz" Ritual Spell Card. Must be Ritual Summoned without using any Level 8 monsters, and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. You can only use each of these effects of "Nekroz of Valkyrus" once per turn.

● When an opponent's monster declares an attack: You can banish 1 "Nekroz" card from your Graveyard and discard this card; negate the attack, then end the Battle Phase.
● During your Main Phase: You can Tribute up to 2 monsters from your hand and/or your side of the field, and if you do, draw the same number of cards you Tributed.

This card is limited because of its powerful hand effect to help survive and stall a duel, which is mostly what this is going to be used for.

Nekroz of Gungnir
Nekroz of Gungnir
WATER Spellcaster ★7
ATK 2500 / DEF 1700
Judgement Force [R]
You can Ritual Summon this card with any "Nekroz" Ritual Spell Card. Must be Ritual Summoned, without using any Level 7 monsters, and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. You can only use each of these effects of "Nekroz of Gungnir" once per turn.
● During either player's turn: You can discard this card, then target 1 "Nekroz" monster you control; it cannot be destroyed by battle or by card effects this turn.
● During either player's turn: You can discard 1 "Nekroz" card, then target 1 card on the field; destroy it.

Decent monster to ritual summon since it has a card removal that's a quick effect. Discarding a Nekroz monster can be fine since they can be ritual summoned with Cycle, and Shurit can still be used in the grave with Mirror.

Its hand effect is useful to prevent a destruction. The deck has no quick effect to search for Gungnir from the deck during your opponent's turn, so you pretty much have to prepare this beforehand.

Shurit, Strategist of the Nekroz

Shurit, Strategist of the Nekroz
Shurit, Strategist of the Nekroz
WATER Warrior ★3
ATK 300 / DEF 1800
Chaotic Soldiers [SR]
If you Ritual Summon exactly 1 "Nekroz" Ritual Monster with a card effect that requires use of monsters, this card can be used as the entire requirement. If this card is Tributed by a card effect: You can add 1 Warrior-Type "Nekroz" Ritual Monster from your Deck to your hand. You can only use this effect of "Shurit, Strategist of the Nekroz" once per turn.

The 1 monster cost that's used to ritual summon any Nekroz ritual monster. Use Nekroz Cycle to ritual summon a Nekroz ritual from the grave by using Shurit from the hand. This will activate Shurit's effect to search for Brionac/Trishula from the deck. You can then follow it up by using Nekroz Mirror to use the Shurit in the grave.

Keep in mind that Shurit's search effect is only once per turn, so ritual summoning twice per turn won't let you search 2 Brionac/Trishula from the deck.

Manju of the Ten Thousand Hands

Manju of the Ten Thousand Hands
Manju of the Ten Thousand Hands
LIGHT Fairy ★4
ATK 1400 / DEF 1000
Maximum Gustav [SR]
When this card is Normal or Flip Summoned: You can add 1 Ritual Monster or 1 Ritual Spell Card from your Deck to your hand.

To help get a ritual spell or monster from the deck. It's also a level 4, which can be used to ritual summon Valkyrus or Decisive Armor with another level 4 or Brionac in hand, but it's usually just used as a beater or rank 4 Xyz instead.

Reinforcement of the Army

Reinforcement of the Army
Reinforcement of the Army
Normal Spell
Starter/Special Set Bundle Sale [UR]
Add 1 Level 4 or lower Warrior monster from your Deck to your hand.

Reinforcement of the Army gives a big advantage to Nekroz Deck which can allow you to search out Shurit, Brionac, or Trishula from your Deck for a combo setup board as soon as possible.

Nekroz Ritual Spells

Nekroz Cycle
Nekroz Cycle
Ritual Spell
Chaotic Soldiers [R]
This card can be used to Ritual Summon any "Nekroz" Ritual Monster. Tribute monsters from your hand or field, then Ritual Summon 1 "Nekroz" Ritual Monster from your hand or Graveyard whose Level exactly equals the total Levels of those monsters. You can only use this effect of "Nekroz Cycle" once per turn. If you control no monsters: You can banish this card and 1 "Nekroz" monster from your Graveyard; add 1 "Nekroz" Spell Card from your Deck to your hand.

Lets you special summon Nekroz ritual monsters from the grave, allowing you to use Nekroz monsters' hand effects a little more freely.

A common use for this is to ritual summon Brionac from the grave after you use Brionac's search effect to pick up Shurit or any other ritual monster.

The last effect is useful for some recovery so you can make continuous ritual plays. The search effect is very non-restrictive since it can search for any Nekroz spell, including itself if you want to ritual summon a Nekroz from your grave.

Nekroz Mirror
Nekroz Mirror
Ritual Spell
Chaotic Soldiers [R]
This card can be used to Ritual Summon any "Nekroz" Ritual Monster. Tribute monsters from your hand or field, and/or banish "Nekroz" monsters from your Graveyard, then Ritual Summon 1 "Nekroz" Ritual Monster from your hand whose Level exactly equals the total Levels of those monsters. You can only use this effect of "Nekroz Mirror" once per turn. If you control no monsters: You can banish this card and 1 "Nekroz" monster from your Graveyard; add 1 "Nekroz" Spell Card from your Deck to your hand.

A useful follow-up after using Shurit's effect from the hand since you can use it again in the graveyard to be the full cost for a ritual summon.

It also has a search effect, similar to Nekroz Cycle, so you can search for another copy of Mirror or Cycle from the deck.

Fossil Support

These Fossil Fusion Monsters are good Synergy with Nekroz Kaleidoscope. Skull Knight's graveyard effect will allow you to remove a monster by banishing himself. Skull Wagon shares a similar effect to Skull Knight but back row removal by banishing itself from your Graveyard.

Fossil Warrior Skull Knight
Fossil Warrior Skull Knight
EARTH Rock ★6
ATK 2400 / DEF 1100
Shining Sunrise [R]
1 Rock monster + 1 Level 5 or 6 monster
Must first be Special Summoned with "Fossil Fusion". If this card attacks a Defense Position monster, inflict piercing battle damage. When this attacking card destroys a monster by battle: You can activate this effect; this card can make a second attack in a row. You can banish this card from your GY, then target 1 monster on the field; destroy it. You can only use this effect of "Fossil Warrior Skull Knight" once per turn.
Fossil Machine Skull Wagon
Fossil Machine Skull Wagon
EARTH Rock ★6
ATK 1700 / DEF 1600
Shining Sunrise [N]
1 Rock monster in your GY + 1 Level 5 or 6 monster
Must first be Special Summoned with "Fossil Fusion". This card can make up to 2 attacks on monsters during each Battle Phase. When this card destroys an opponent's monster by battle: You can inflict 400 damage to your opponent. You can banish this card from your GY, then target 1 Spell/Trap on the field; destroy it. You can only use this effect of "Fossil Machine Skull Wagon" once per turn.
Nekroz Kaleidoscope
Nekroz Kaleidoscope
Ritual Spell
Judgement Force [SR]
This card can be used to Ritual Summon any number of "Nekroz" Ritual Monsters. Tribute 1 monster from your hand or field, or send 1 monster from your Extra Deck to the Graveyard, also, after that, Ritual Summon any number of "Nekroz" monsters whose total Levels exactly equal the Level of that monster. You can only use this effect of "Nekroz Kaleidoscope" once per turn. If you control no monsters: You can banish this card and 1 "Nekroz" monster from your Graveyard; add 1 "Nekroz" Spell Card from your Deck to your hand.

Extra Decks

Having these Xyz monsters can help if you need certain effects, or if you want to get more use out of Trishula after the effect is used. Just keep in mind that doing this means they are no longer Nekroz monsters, so you can't use the Nekroz monsters in hand to protect them from destruction or targeted effects.

Constellar Ptolemy M7
Constellar Ptolemy M7
LIGHT Machine ★6
ATK 2700 / DEF 2000
Infinite Ray [UR]
Selection Box Vol.03 Mini [UR] [UR]
2 Level 6 monsters
You can also Xyz Summon this card by using a "Constellar" Xyz Monster you control as the Xyz Material, other than "Constellar Ptolemy M7". (Xyz Materials attached to that monster also become Xyz Materials on this card.) If Summoned this way, the following effect cannot be activated this turn. Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 monster on the field or in either player's Graveyard; return that target to the hand.

Brionac can only remove special summoned monsters, but this can remove any monster as long as they can be targeted. Also lets you target monsters in the grave to disrupt your opponent or to recover your own card.

Number 70: Malevolent Sin
Number 70: Malevolent Sin
DARK Insect ★4
ATK 2400 / DEF 1200
Photons of Galaxy [SR]
2 Level 4 monsters
Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 monster your opponent controls; banish it until your opponent's next Standby Phase. At the end of the Damage Step, if this card attacked: You can make this card gain 300 ATK, and if you do, increase its Rank by 3.

Effective for when your opponent only controls one monster, which can often lead to an easy OTK. Also pretty good against your opponent's Xyz monster since doing this will remove their materials as well.

Steelswarm Roach
Steelswarm Roach
DARK Fiend ★4
ATK 1900 / DEF 0
Photons of Galaxy [SR]
Selection Box Vol.05 [SR]
2 Level 4 monsters
During either player's turn, when a Level 5 or higher monster would be Special Summoned: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; negate the Special Summon, and if you do, destroy it.

Roach is great for monster suppression, much like a Trap Hole card. When your opponent summons a boss monster, use Roach's effect to immediately destroy it. This is an especially good counter against Synchro Decks or High-Level Monster Spam Decks like Mekk-Knight Deck. But most of the time, just Roach's presence on the field is enough to deter the opponent from making big monsters.

Super Quantal Mech King Great Magnus
Super Quantal Mech King Great Magnus
LIGHT Machine ★12
ATK 3600 / DEF 3200
Shining Sunrise [R]
3 Level 12 monsters
If this card is sent to the Graveyard: You can Special Summon 3 "Super Quantal Mech Beast" Xyz Monsters with different names from your Graveyard. This card gains these effects, based on the number of Xyz Materials with different names attached to it.

● 2 or more: Once per turn, during either player's Main Phase: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; shuffle 1 card on the field into the Deck.
● 4 or more: It is unaffected by card effects, except "Super Quant" cards.
● 6 or more: Your opponent cannot add cards from the Deck to the hand by card effects.

Great Magnus will becomes powerful controller on board with min. 3 materials which can be Xyz Summoned easily by using Dreadnoid's effect.

Number 27: Dreadnought Dreadnoid
Number 27: Dreadnought Dreadnoid
WATER Machine ★4
ATK 2200 / DEF 1000
Maximum Gustav [R]
2+ Level 4 monsters
At the end of the Battle Phase, if this card destroyed an opponent's monster by battle: You can Special Summon from your Extra Deck, 1 Rank 10 or higher Machine Xyz Monster by using this face-up card you control as material. (This is treated as an Xyz Summon. Transfer its materials to the Summoned monster.) You can only use this effect of "Number 27: Dreadnought Dreadnoid" once per turn. If this face-up card on the field would be destroyed by battle or card effect, you can detach 1 material from this card instead.

Decent ATK and defensive effect to help survive. Bring this out if your opponent only has 1 monster on the field that you know you can get over. Destroying a monster by battle will let you Xyz summon a rank 10, which can be used to bring out Great Magnus with 3 materials.

Other Cards Option

Other Ritual Supports

Gishki Chain
Gishki Chain
WATER Sea Serpent ★4
ATK 1800 / DEF 1000
Abyss Encounters [UR]
If this card is Normal Summoned: Look at the top 3 cards of your Deck, you can reveal 1 Ritual Monster or 1 Ritual Spell Card among them and add it to your hand, also after that, place any remaining cards on the top of your Deck in any order.

A ritual support to help with getting a ritual monster or spell to your hand. The re-arrange effect is only beneficial if you don't make plays that require shuffling the deck, like using search effects from Brionac or Shurit.

Since Gishki chain only looks at the top 3 cards of your deck, it can be a little unreliable at times. You can choose to play Sonic Bird or Senju of the Thousand Hands as an alternative.

Senju of the Thousand Hands
Senju of the Thousand Hands
LIGHT Fairy ★4
ATK 1400 / DEF 1000
Neo-Impact [UR]
When this card is Normal or Flip Summoned: You can add 1 Ritual Monster from your Deck to your hand.

This is used over Sonic Bird since the ritual monsters are more useful to get because of their effects that can activate in the hand. Searching for Brionac can already lead to a Shurit or any other ritual monsters in the deck.

Cosmic Cyclone

Cosmic Cyclone
Cosmic Cyclone
Quick Spell
Galactic Origin [UR]
Selection Box Vol. 01 Mini [UR]
Pay 1000 LP, then target 1 Spell/Trap Card on the field; banish it.

Having a backrow remover can be helpful since it lets you deal with enemy spell/traps before you get hit with them, allowing you to more safely make your plays. Cosmic Cyclone works the best with the deck because of the LP cost, which will let you activate the skill to fetch a ritual spell/monster. You can even use it twice per turn if you use the skill after taking damage (or from previous Cosmic Cyclone), then use Cosmic Cyclone again to take another 1000 to use the skill again.

Other Extra Decks

Number 9: Dyson Sphere
Number 9: Dyson Sphere
LIGHT Machine ★9
ATK 2800 / DEF 3000
Darkness Gimmick [UR]
2 Level 9 monsters
Once per Battle Step, during your opponent's turn, if this card with Xyz Material is attacked: Negate the attack (this is a Quick Effect). When this card is targeted for an attack while it has no Xyz Materials: You can target 2 monsters in your Graveyard; attach those targets to this card as Xyz Materials. During your Main Phase 1: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; this card can attack your opponent directly this turn. Your opponent must control a monster with higher ATK than this card for you to activate and to resolve this effect.

Since Trishula's effect only works on-summon, there isn't any good reason to keep it on the field after the effect went off. You can use them to Xyz into Number 9 if you need an attack blocker, or if you know you're going against a deck that can summon a 2800+ ATK monster.

Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon
Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon
DARK Dragon ★4
ATK 2500 / DEF 2000
Phantom of Rebellion [UR]
2 Level 4 monsters
You can detach 2 Xyz Materials from this card, then target 1 face-up monster your opponent controls; its ATK becomes half its current ATK, and if it does, this card gains that lost ATK.

General Rank 4 Xyz Monster for players to use so far. Its effect essentially lets you deal 2500 (its own ATK) damage if this attacks the monster you targeted. The advantage is that your opponent's monster's ATK is also lowered, allowing you to attack over it with your other weaker monsters.

Abyss Dweller
Abyss Dweller
WATER Sea Serpent ★4
ATK 1700 / DEF 1400
Photons of Galaxy [UR]
2 Level 4 monsters
While this card has an Xyz Material attached that was originally WATER, all WATER monsters you control gain 500 ATK. Once per turn, during either player's turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; any card effects that activate in your opponent's Graveyard cannot be activated this turn.

Abyss Dweller is an anti-Graveyard interaction tech, intended to hinder Decks that activate a ton of effects from the graveyard. It's best to activate this at the start of the opponent's turn, so make sure to toggle Chain to "ON" and activate Abyss Dweller's effect during the opponent's Draw Phase.

Fairy Cheer Girl
Fairy Cheer Girl
LIGHT Fairy ★4
ATK 1900 / DEF 1500
Tori Meadows [UR]
2 Level 4 Fairy-Type monsters
You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; draw 1 card. You can only use this effect of "Fairy Cheer Girl" once per turn.

Has higher ATK than Manju/Senju and this clears up space plus a draw card effect.

Decent ATK and defensive effect to help survive. Bring this out if your opponent only has 1 monster on the field that you know you can get over. Destroying a monster by battle will let you Xyz summon a rank 10, which can be used to bring out Great Magnus with 3 materials.

Diamond Dire Wolf
Diamond Dire Wolf
EARTH Beast ★4
ATK 2000 / DEF 1200
Voltage of the Metal [SR]
Selection Box Vol.03 Mini [SR] [SR]
2 Level 4 monsters
Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 Beast, Beast-Warrior, or Winged Beast-Type monster you control and 1 other card on the field; destroy them.

If you already have 2 level 4 monsters on the field, you can Xyz into this to destroy your opponent's backrow before doing other plays. This lets you safely make your plays instead of getting disrupted by your opponent's trap.

Daigusto Emeral
Daigusto Emeral
WIND Rock ★4
ATK 1800 / DEF 800
Sign of Harpies [SR]
2 Level 4 monsters
Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then activate 1 of these effects.
● Target 3 monsters in your Graveyard; shuffle all 3 into the Deck, then draw 1 card.
● Target 1 non-Effect Monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon that target.

Summon Emeral by using two Level 4 monsters like Manju or Senju as material. Emeral will then be used as a mini self-sufficient draw engine. Emeral can help you recover the monsters in the graveyard so you don't run out of sources.

Pure Nekroz recieved a buff with Oracle of Zefra and Zefrasaber. Yes Pendulums and Rituals are an akward combination but it provides infinite level 4-5 tribute fodder. Zefrasaber is a condensed ritual spell in monster form.
