If a face-up DARK Machine monster(s) you control is destroyed by battle or card effect: You can Special Summon this card from your hand. Once per turn, during the Battle Phase (Quick Effect): You can toss a coin 3 times; destroy face-up monsters on the field, up to the number of Heads, then if the result is 3 heads, draw 1 card. This card cannot attack the turn this effect is activated. If this card is sent to the GY: You can add 1 Level 7 or lower monster that has a coin tossing effect, from your Deck to your hand.

RatingB

Pros

  • Inherent Special Summoning effect.
  • Good stats.
  • Can destroy multiple opponent monsters.
  • Searches deck for the monster when he is sent to the graveyard.

Cons

  • Cannot attack the turn it activates removal effect.
  • Can only destroy face-up monsters.
  • Coin toss effects are inconsistent.

Tips

  • DARK Machine is a fairly common attribute-type combination. Some archetypes with this combination include Ally of Justice, Genex Ally, and Jinzo.

Cyberdark

Cyberdark monsters are almost all DARK Machine-type monsters so you won’t have any trouble summoning Desperado Barrel Dragon. Desperado Barrel Dragon also offers monster removal and high base stats that none of the Cyberdark monsters have. Use Cyberdark Cannon to search for Machine-Type Cyberdark monsters.

Arcana Force

Barrel Dragon

Two of Desperado Barrel Dragon’s effects functions well with other barrel dragons. Because Barrel Dragons are DARK Machine-types they can fulfill Desperado Barrel Dragon’s Special Summoning condition. Also, they all have coin flip effects making them searchable by Desperado Barrel Dragon.

Coin Toss Support

Second Coin Toss lets you retry your coin toss to get a better result. Proton Blast gives you additional effects based on the number of heads. Additionally Proton Blast can be banished from your graveyard to make all of Desperado Barrel Dragon’s tosses heads.

I've seen cards get limited forever for worse effects than this one, this game balance is a joke.
Hey komoney
You aren't just losing free to pay users, you are losing casual spenders as well. You're really twisting everyone's arm into buying this card, but it's just pissing people off that bought neos or red eyes. We don't want to spend 10 bucks a month just to be able to play the game when we have already spent upwards of 30 dollars. We want to be able to be creative and have different decks. Not be forced to all buy the same deck

Then don’t buy it- there’s so many good f2p decks that can beat it lol

Ability of desperado is not targeting. This is op mass destruction ability. If it was targeting there are few ways to go around it. without targeting there is even less ways.

With a skill that flip heads for the first 3 coin tosses, you moron!

Free card, DM Zorc: hard to summon, has a 5/6 probability of destroying opponents monster, and a 1/6 chance to destroy your own.

Free card, snipe Hunter: requires a discard and has 2/3 chance to destroy opponents monster.

Paid card, DBD: has 7/8 probability of destroying at least one monster, and it can be used during both turns, and it's easy to summon.

The only people who like this card are those who bought into it, and are now scared it will be nerfed, so they try to shame others into silence.

Yes it is easy to counter if you know you will face it, but so is every other gimmick. The difference is that other gimmicks are not nearly as OP
Smd
The only ppl that talk shiz about this card being was to counter are ppl who spent money to get easy wins. Obviously this card is super OP or it wouldn't generate this much discussion. But those who spent money don't want to see it nerfed because then they wouldn't have enough skill to win without it

Lmao, if you can’t beat this card you just suck

Ppl are just ashamed to admit they spent money on this card, because if they didn't they would agree with you 100%. This card can easily be countered if you are planning on facing it. But otherwise it's a hands down butt fuQ.

How to counter this card?
<< Anonymous

Desperado’s effect to destroy 3 cards happens in 1 activation. So yes, it would prevent desperado from destroying all cards- not just 1

Ugh Do you understand what people told you, or are you pretending to be a stubborn kid?

Barrel dragon has higher attack. He can easily 🔥 Stardust.

Ok, if the player decides for some reason not to 🔥 it, BM-4 Blast Spider can do this job and clear field for OTK.

Again, Spider and Desperado combo easily stops Stardust.

I activate Spider's effect targeting Stardust, you're forced to activate Stardust's effect. Since Stardust's effect destroys, Desperado can be Special Summoned into the field.

Now I have Desperado on the field that can destroy the rest of your cards and hit you directly while you don't have Stardust since you removed it to negate Spider.

If you have power of the guardians equipped with some spell counters, you can remove one to prevent Barrel Dragon's destruction effect.
