text

If a face-up DARK Machine monster(s) you control is destroyed by battle or card effect: You can Special Summon this card from your hand. Once per turn, during the Battle Phase (Quick Effect): You can toss a coin 3 times; destroy face-up monsters on the field, up to the number of Heads, then if the result is 3 heads, draw 1 card. This card cannot attack the turn this effect is activated. If this card is sent to the GY: You can add 1 Level 7 or lower monster that has a coin tossing effect, from your Deck to your hand.

RatingB

Pros

  • Inherent Special Summoning effect.
  • Good stats.
  • Can destroy multiple opponent monsters.
  • Searches deck for the monster when he is sent to the graveyard.

Cons

  • Cannot attack the turn it activates removal effect.
  • Can only destroy face-up monsters.
  • Coin toss effects are inconsistent.

Tips

  • DARK Machine is a fairly common attribute-type combination. Some archetypes with this combination include Ally of Justice, Genex Ally, and Jinzo.

Cyberdark

Cyberdark monsters are almost all DARK Machine-type monsters so you won’t have any trouble summoning Desperado Barrel Dragon. Desperado Barrel Dragon also offers monster removal and high base stats that none of the Cyberdark monsters have. Use Cyberdark Cannon to search for Machine-Type Cyberdark monsters.

Arcana Force

Barrel Dragon

Two of Desperado Barrel Dragon’s effects functions well with other barrel dragons. Because Barrel Dragons are DARK Machine-types they can fulfill Desperado Barrel Dragon’s Special Summoning condition. Also, they all have coin flip effects making them searchable by Desperado Barrel Dragon.

Coin Toss Support

Second Coin Toss lets you retry your coin toss to get a better result. Proton Blast gives you additional effects based on the number of heads. Additionally Proton Blast can be banished from your graveyard to make all of Desperado Barrel Dragon’s tosses heads.

*sigh* I really thought this game was pretty fair going in.....

So for those who don’t know, this card and many others are locked behind a paywall. Starter deck exclusive. You can buy 1 with gems, then cash if you want 3. This wasn’t an issue when I thought you could get these cards from boxes, as the game rewards a fair amount of gems. But you can’t. I thought Hearthstone was bad, but even THEY don’t do this.

Not only that, but this is easily one of the most broken cards in the game (of course).

Advantages:
- You pay nothing to summon it (except money).
- You summon it during your opponents turn.
- It’s big.
- Flip effects are usually bad, as they rely on luck. Not this card. 3 flips, with each heads resulting in instant card advantage. Almost zero chance you won’t get at least 1. So you decimate your opponents tiny Duel Links sized board, PLUS a draw effect if you get 3 heads. You get that every turn. Better hope you play Subterrors, the only deck in the game that plays it’s boss monsters face-down.
- Synergy with a guaranteed coin flip skill.
- Specific draw effect on death.

Look, if you whale, just admit it. Don’t defend this garbage.

you are absolutely right, but there is nothing we can do about it because it's the whales' fault for supporting this 🔥. If they refused to buy when ancient gear came out, konami wouldn't have regularly realeased p2w starter decks. At least with the last few boxes you have a chance to create some good decks, but this game has really been p2w since the beginning of this year.

lmao no it’s not. You can easily beat the p2w decks with f2p ones- I sure have. You whiners just don’t want to put in any effort for it, and there lies your problem- YOU

Desparado should not be able to attack on any copy if it already used it’s effect in the same turn, overpowered in my opinion.

Lmao it’s a coin flip based effect card, not overpowered in the slightest XD

Someone just used desperado barrel dragon on me and they flipped the coin for 2 heads and it was just my card on the field that was destroyed. Doesn’t it destroy itself as well?

Pay attention to the word "up to...".
Your opponent could choose to destroy 1 card only.

Is this card still so popular, or can I play again?

The fact that this 🔥 effect can also activate during your Battle Phase makes it impossible for you to beat it with a beater.

Unless you can get rid of this thing by banishing it, you’re pretty much 🔥ed because after beating one of them, they’ll just summon another

AG can't do 🔥 if Desperado Barrel Dragon is already on the field and there's no Fortress on the field

> there's no Fortress on the field

and what's the problem to set Fortress?
you have a 50% chance of getting at least one in your starting hand
it's like, you know, you will lose with a great chance any duel without a fortress anyway

Also use E-con and tribute Wyvern to get Barrel dragon on your side of the field.
Then use his ability and make Harakiri
