Duel Links Mayosenju deck, Mayosenju in the current meta, how to use.
update 27/08/2022

Overview

Mayosenjus focuses more on the pendulums of the archetype. They are the high level boss monsters with effects that can return multiple cards on the field when they are summoned. They return back to your hand each end phase, allowing you to re-use their effects every time you summon them.

Set Skill

[Skill] descriptionUser
Neo New Sylvio
At the beginning of the Duel, add 1 "Yosenju Shinchu L", and 1 "Yosenju Shinchu R" to the bottom of your Deck. In addition, the following effect can be used once per Duel after your Life Points decrease by 2000. Return 1 "Yosenju" card in your hand to your Deck and add 1 "Yosenju Oroshi Channeling" to your hand from outside of your Deck. This Skill can only be used if you begin the Duel with a Deck that contains at least 9 "Yosenju" cards. (Extra Deck does not count.)

Mayosenju Hitot

Mayosenju Hitot

WIND Beast ★10
ATK 2000 / DEF 3000
Sylvio Sawatari at Lvl 21 [SR]
Sylvio Sawatari [SR]
Pendulum Effect

You can target 1 "Yosenju" card in your Pendulum Zone; for the rest of this turn, its Pendulum Scale becomes 11, also you cannot Special Summon monsters, except "Yosenju" monsters (even if this card leaves the field). During your End Phase: Return this card to the hand. You can only use each Pendulum Effect of "Mayosenju Hitot" once per turn.

Monster Effect

Cannot be Special Summoned, except by Pendulum Summon. If this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can target 1 card your opponent controls; return it to the hand. Each time a card(s) on the field is returned to the hand or Main Deck by your card effect, while this card is on the field: All "Yosenju" monsters you currently control gain 500 ATK. Once per turn, during the End Phase, if this card was Special Summoned this turn: Return it to the hand.

The pendulum effect lets you pair this with any other Yosenju pendulum effect to ensure that you can special summon Hitots and/or Daibaks.

The monster effect gives 1 non targeting removal and gives an additional +500 ATK.

Mayosenju Daibak

Mayosenju Daibak
Mayosenju Daibak
WIND Beast ★10
ATK 3000 / DEF 300
Pendulum Genesis [SR]
Pendulum Effect
When a "Yosenju" monster you control declares an attack: You can have that attacking monster gain 300 ATK until the end of the Battle Phase.

Monster Effect
Cannot be Special Summoned, except by Pendulum Summon. This card's Pendulum Summon cannot be negated. If this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can target up to 2 cards on the field; return them to the hand. During the End Phase, if this card was Special Summoned this turn: Return it to the hand.

The pendulum effect helps for when you can't make a pendulum play, and have to attack using the low level monsters. If you activate this as a pendulum monster, you'll want to make sure not to activate Shinchu L, since both of them don't have a scale increasing effect, preventing you from being able to pendulum summon the Mayosenjus.

Daibak is best used as a monster to be summoned, so it's often not worth using this as a pendulum effect. Rely on your traps or Oyam until you can pendulum summon this instead.

Yosenju Shinchu

Both of these have somewhat similar monster effects, but they're mostly used to help with pendulum summoning. Shinchu R can be used more carefree because of its pendulum increasing effect, but you'll have to be careful with Shinchu L since it doesn't pair with Daibak.

Having multiple copies of this in the deck can help give it some consistency, ensuring that you can activate the second effect of Oroshi Channeling from the skill.

If you can only special summon 2 monsters, you can consider normal summoning Shinchu L first before doing the pendulum summon. Making them untargetable to prevent most interruptions.

Pendulum Effect
Once per turn, if you have a "Yosenju" card in your other Pendulum Zone: You can make this card's Pendulum Scale become 11 until the end of this turn, also you cannot Special Summon monsters for the rest of this turn, except "Yosenju" monsters (even if this card leaves the field).

Monster Effect
If this card is Normal Summoned: Change it to Defense Position. Your opponent cannot target "Yosenju" monsters for attacks, except this one.

Pendulum Effect

If a "Yosenju" monster(s) you control would be destroyed by battle or card effect, you can destroy this card instead.

Monster Effect

If this card is Normal Summoned: Change it to Defense Position. Your opponent cannot target "Yosenju" monsters you control with card effects, except this one.

Yosenju Izna

Yosenju Izna
Yosenju Izna
WIND Beast-Warrior ★4
ATK 800 / DEF 1200
Spirit of the Beast [R]
Once per turn, during the End Phase, if this card was Normal Summoned this turn: Return it to the hand. You can only use each of the following effects of "Yosenju Izna" once per turn.
● You can discard this card; this turn, your opponent cannot activate cards or effects when a "Yosenju" monster(s) is Normal or Special Summoned.
● If you control another "Yosenju" monster: You can draw 1 card.

If you control another “Mayosenju” monster, Izna allows you to draw a card.

You can also discard Izna during your Main Phase to prevent your opponent from activating cards or effects when a “Moyosenju” monster is Normal or Special Summoned this turn. I doubt you are ever going to use this effect unless you know for sure that your opponent has a Floodgate Trap Hole, but I guess it’s always nice to have more options.

Yosenju Misak

Yosenju Misak
Yosenju Misak
WIND Beast ★6
ATK 2300 / DEF
Cross Dimension [N]
At the start of the Damage Step, if this card battles a face-up non-WIND monster: You can destroy that monster. When this card is Pendulum Summoned: You can target 1 card your opponent controls; destroy it. During the End Phase, if this card was Special Summoned this turn: Return it to the hand.

Card Removal effect (target effect) when Misak is Pendulum Summoned. Return it during the End Phase, then pendulum summon it on the next turn to trigger the effect again.

Cross Dimension [SR]
Neo New Sylvio (Skill) [SR]
If you control no monsters: Activate 1 of the following effects; also for the rest of this turn after this card resolves, you cannot Special Summon monsters, except "Yosenju" monsters.

● Add 1 Level 5 or higher "Yosenju" monster from your Deck to your hand.
● Place 1 "Yosenju Shinchu L" and 1 "Yosenju Shinchu R" from your Deck in your Pendulum Zones, but destroy them during your opponent's next End Phase.

One of the Main Core of this Deck. Oroshi Channeling is a non-once per turn limit searcher for adding 1 Hitot or Daibak from your Deck to your hand.

Also, you can place 1 "Yosenju Shinchu L" and 1 "Yosenju Shinchu R" from your Deck in your Pendulum Zones for Pendulum Summoning. Since these pendulum monsters will destroyed, you can consider to bounce back to your Hand by using Daibak's effect.

Kiteroid
Kiteroid
WIND Machine ★1
ATK 200 / DEF 400
Card Trader [SR]
Activate when you discard this card from your hand during damage calculation after a direct attack. Any Battle Damage you would receive from that direct attack becomes 0. Only once, if you remove this card from the game when it is in your Graveyard, any Battle Damage you would receive from a direct attack becomes 0.

Prevents OTKs similar to Sphere Kuriboh. Keep it in your hand to avoid damage from a direct attack, then later banish it from the graveyard to avoid damage from another direct attack.

Wightprincess

Wightprincess
Wightprincess
DARK Zombie ★3
ATK 1600 / DEF 0
Energy of Gigarays [R]
This card’s name becomes "Skull Servant" while it is in the Graveyard. If this card is Normal or Special Summoned: You can send 1 "Wightprince" from your Deck to the Graveyard. During either player's turn: You can send this card from your hand or field to the Graveyard; all monsters currently on the field lose ATK and DEF equal to their own Level/Rank x 300, until the end of this turn.

Can be used during either players' turn makes this card more useful to prevent OTK from your opponent by reducing their ATK regarding to their own Level/Rank.

Yosenjus Sword Sting

Yosenjus Sword Sting
Yosenjus Sword Sting
Normal Trap
Spirit of the Beast [UR]
If you control no monsters: Reveal up to 2 "Yosenju" monsters with different names in your hand, then target the same number of face-up cards your opponent controls; return them to the hand. You can only activate 1 "Yosenjus' Sword Sting" per turn.

It's a very powerful trap since you can get rid of all of your opponent's efforts after they invested a lot to get their boss monsters out. Most of the Yosenju monsters return back to your hand, and this trap doesn't discard them, so you have a pretty good chance of being able to use this often. It can prevent your opponent's combo plays, or simply return their back row so you can attack safely next turn.

Extra Decks

In the event that your monsters get hit with a monster negate card while you have at least 2 monsters on the field, you can XYZ into something else to prevent them from being locked or leaving you defenseless.

The extra deck monsters don't play a big role since they don't have their own archetype extra deck monsters yet, giving you a decent amount of freedom to put here.

Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon
Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon
DARK Dragon ★4
ATK 2500 / DEF 2000
Phantom of Rebellion [UR]
2 Level 4 monsters
You can detach 2 Xyz Materials from this card, then target 1 face-up monster your opponent controls; its ATK becomes half its current ATK, and if it does, this card gains that lost ATK.

General Rank 4 Xyz Monster for players to use so far. Its effect essentially lets you deal 2500 (its own ATK) damage if this attacks the monster you targeted. The advantage is that your opponent's monster's ATK is also lowered, allowing you to attack over it with your other weaker monsters.

Number 70: Malevolent Sin
Number 70: Malevolent Sin
DARK Insect ★4
ATK 2400 / DEF 1200
Photons of Galaxy [SR]
2 Level 4 monsters
Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 monster your opponent controls; banish it until your opponent's next Standby Phase. At the end of the Damage Step, if this card attacked: You can make this card gain 300 ATK, and if you do, increase its Rank by 3.

Works well against opponents that rely on a single strong boss monster. Even if it's a temporary banish, it can help secure some games.

Diamond Dire Wolf
Diamond Dire Wolf
EARTH Beast ★4
ATK 2000 / DEF 1200
Voltage of the Metal [SR]
Selection Box Vol.03 Mini [SR] [SR]
2 Level 4 monsters
Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 Beast, Beast-Warrior, or Winged Beast-Type monster you control and 1 other card on the field; destroy them.

Diamond Dire Wolf gets rid of itself along with any enemy card. Use this as on demand removal against a problematic card, or secure your attacks by getting rid of enemy backrow.

Steelswarm Roach
Steelswarm Roach
DARK Fiend ★4
ATK 1900 / DEF 0
Photons of Galaxy [SR]
2 Level 4 monsters
During either player's turn, when a Level 5 or higher monster would be Special Summoned: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; negate the Special Summon, and if you do, destroy it.

Works quite well against decks that special summon a lot. You can consider summoning this on turn 1 if you know what your opponent might be playing.

Super Quantal Mech King Great Magnus
Super Quantal Mech King Great Magnus
LIGHT Machine ★12
ATK 3600 / DEF 3200
Shining Sunrise [R]
3 Level 12 monsters
If this card is sent to the Graveyard: You can Special Summon 3 "Super Quantal Mech Beast" Xyz Monsters with different names from your Graveyard. This card gains these effects, based on the number of Xyz Materials with different names attached to it.

● 2 or more: Once per turn, during either player's Main Phase: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; shuffle 1 card on the field into the Deck.
● 4 or more: It is unaffected by card effects, except "Super Quant" cards.
● 6 or more: Your opponent cannot add cards from the Deck to the hand by card effects.

Great Magnus will becomes powerful controller on board with min. 3 materials which can be Xyz Summoned easily by using Dreadnoid's effect.

Number 27: Dreadnought Dreadnoid
Number 27: Dreadnought Dreadnoid
WATER Machine ★4
ATK 2200 / DEF 1000
Maximum Gustav [R]
2+ Level 4 monsters
At the end of the Battle Phase, if this card destroyed an opponent's monster by battle: You can Special Summon from your Extra Deck, 1 Rank 10 or higher Machine Xyz Monster by using this face-up card you control as material. (This is treated as an Xyz Summon. Transfer its materials to the Summoned monster.) You can only use this effect of "Number 27: Dreadnought Dreadnoid" once per turn. If this face-up card on the field would be destroyed by battle or card effect, you can detach 1 material from this card instead.

Decent ATK and defensive effect to help survive. Bring this out if your opponent only has 1 monster on the field that you know you can get over. Destroying a monster by battle will let you Xyz summon a rank 10, which can be used to bring out Great Magnus with 3 materials.

Other Cards Option

Battlin Boxer Veil

Battlin Boxer Veil
Battlin Boxer Veil
FIRE Warrior ★4
ATK 0 / DEF 1800
Rage of Volcano [R]
When you take battle damage: You can Special Summon this card from your hand, and if you do, gain Life Points equal to the damage you took.

Due to Mayosenjus' tendency to return to the hand there's a high chance that your field will be left empty on the opponent's turn. This leaves you highly vulnerable to OTKs unless you run defensive options like Battlin Boxer Veil.

Special Summon Veil after receiving a large amount of damage, regaining your LP and putting a body on board. Veil can catch a subsequent attack or, if it survives till your turn you can use it as Xyz material.

Yosenju's Secret Move

Yosenjus Secret Move
Yosenjus Secret Move
Counter Trap
Spirit of the Beast [R]
When a Spell/Trap Card, or monster effect, is activated while you control at least 1 "Yosenju" card, and all face-up monsters you control are "Yosenju" monsters: Negate the activation, and if you do, destroy that card.

This is usable even if you have no Yonseju monster in your monster zone. You can use a Yosenju as a pendulum effect to be the requirement. It's a powerful in-archetype counter trap that works against most things, so you can use it to stop a combo or protect your monsters.

Other Extra Decks

Superdreadnought Rail Cannon Juggernaut Liebe
Superdreadnought Rail Cannon Juggernaut Liebe
EARTH Machine ★11

Once per turn: You can detach 1 material from this card; it gains 2000 ATK/DEF, also for the rest of this turn, you can only declare an attack with this card. During each Battle Phase, this card can make attacks on monsters up to the number of materials it has +1.

Summonable by using Rank 10 Xyz Machine monster, Skypalace Gangaridai. Juggernaut Liebe will have 6000 ATK stat by its effect with multiple attack to monsters that you opponent control if it has min 2. Xyz Materials. Number C39: Utopia Ray
Number C39: Utopia Ray

You must have 1000 Life Points or less to activate and to resolve this effect.

Since you have cards to help control the amount of damage that you take, you can take advantage of Utopia Ray for a potential OTK. Sword Sting can be used on your opponent's back row to ensure that you can safely attack.

Why do people keep adding the Rank 10+ XYZ monsters in this deck if they won´t be able to summon them? A better option would be to complement with other Rank 4.
