Box of Friends | LIGHT Machine ★1 ATK 0 / DEF 0 |
Maximum Gustav [UR] | |
If this card is destroyed and sent to the Graveyard: You can Special Summon from your Deck, 2 Normal Monsters with different names whose ATK or DEF is 0, in face-up Defense Position. You can only use this effect of "Box of Friends" once per turn. Monsters Special Summoned by this effect cannot be used as a Synchro Material Monster, also they are destroyed during your next End Phase. |
Box of Friends' effect can allows you to bring out two Metalfoes Steelen or Master Pendulum from your Deck when it is destroyed by battle or card effect. You can use Metalfoes common shared effect to destroy this card then trigger its effect. You can Fusion Summon Metalfoes Fusion Monsters or Xyz Summon by using those Normal Monsters.
Since all the Metalfoes are FIRE attributes, you can slot in Aleister engine to have access to Purgatrio. It's a strong boss monster that can attack all monsters your opponent controls and have a piercing effect. The Aleister itself can also be a decent support since it works as an ATK boost for all of the fusion monsters, including the Metalfoes fusions.
But putting Purgratrio can end up competing for the extra deck slots with the Metalfoes fusion. It can also potentially brick if you happen to use mutliple of the normal monster supports like Rabbit or Hamster.
Aleister the Invoker | DARK Spellcaster ★4 ATK 1000 / DEF 1800 |
Dark Dimension [UR] | |
(Quick Effect): You can send this card from your hand to the GY, then target 1 Fusion Monster you control; it gains 1000 ATK/DEF until the end of this turn. If this card is Normal Summoned or flipped face-up: You can add 1 "Invocation" from your Deck to your hand. |
Invocation | Normal Spell |
Dark Dimension [UR] | |
Fusion Summon 1 Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck, using monsters from your hand as Fusion Material. If Summoning an "Invoked" Fusion Monster this way, you can also banish monsters from your field and/or either player's GY as Fusion Material. If this card is in your GY: You can target 1 of your banished "Aleister the Invoker"; shuffle this card into the Deck, and if you do, add that card to your hand. You can only use this effect of "Invocation" once per turn. |
Invoked Purgatrio | FIRE Fiend ★8 ATK 2300 / DEF 2000 |
Aerial Assault [UR] | |
"Aleister the Invoker" + 1 FIRE monster This card gains 200 ATK for each card your opponent controls. This card can attack all monsters your opponent controls, once each. If this card attacks a Defense Position monster, inflict piercing battle damage to your opponent. |
Pendulum Paradox | Normal Spell |
Chaotic Soldiers [UR] | |
Add 2 face-up Pendulum Monsters with the same Pendulum Scale, but different names, from your Extra Deck to your hand. You can only activate 1 "Pendulum Paradox" per turn. |
Works like Hamster to recover pendulum cards that are in the extra deck, but may not be as easy since they need to be different names. You pretty much need 2 different Metalfoes that are scale 1 or scale 8 in the extra deck.
Unexpected Dai | Normal Spell |
Stardust Acceleration [UR] Gladiator's Storm [UR]
If you control no monsters: Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower Normal Monster from the Deck. |
Lite version compared to Rescue Rabbit, but it's easier to obtain since it's available in a structure box.
Dark Factory of Mass Production | Normal Spell |
Stardust Acceleration [SR]
Target 2 Normal Monsters in your Graveyard; add those targets to your hand. |
Recycle Metalfoes Pendulum Monsters from your Graveyard for next set up.
Fusion Recycling Plant | Field Spell |
Generation Next [SR] | |
Once per turn: You can discard 1 card; add 1 "Polymerization" from your Deck or GY to your hand. Once per turn, during the End Phase: You can target 1 monster in your GY that was used as a Fusion Material for a Fusion Summon this turn; add it to your hand. |
Reliably get a Polymerization from the deck to make a fusion. This can also help recover a resource if you use a monster from your hand since it will go to the grave instead of extra deck, or leave it in the grave in case you want to use Mithrilium's effect.
Flash Fusion | Normal Spell |
Generation Next [R] Neos Fusion [R] Rise of Gaia [R]
Fusion Summon 1 Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck, using monsters you control as Fusion Material. Destroy it during the End Phase. |
Can be decent as a follow-up so you can attack with your monsters before going into a fusion. Both Mithrilium or Orichalc also have a sent to grave effect, which will happen because of Flash Fusion's effect.
You can also use this during your opponent's turn to make Alkahest so you can take control of your opponent's monster to stop a play.
Necro Fusion | Normal Trap |
Warriors Unite [SR] | |
Fusion Summon 1 Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck, by banishing Fusion Materials listed on it from your GY face-down, but it cannot attack this turn. |
Uses your grave as a resource to fusion summon a monster. You can use this during your opponent's turn to bring out Alkahest as a surprise so you can take control of it to stop a play.
Metalfoes Counter | Normal Trap |
Maximum Gustav [R] | |
If a card(s) you control is destroyed by battle or card effect: Special Summon 1 "Metalfoes" monster from your Deck. During either player's turn, except the turn this card was sent to the Graveyard: You can banish this card from your Graveyard; add 1 face-up "Metalfoes" Pendulum Monster from your Extra Deck to your hand. |
A decent card to search for if you want to play defensively. Though, searching for this will make it obvious for your opponent, which can be an issue if your opponent uses something like Cosmic Cyclone.
Its additional graveyard effect simply helps you recover any card from the extra deck. Useful if you ever need another beater on the field by recovering Goldriver, or to put the other scale so you can pendulum summon.
Abyss Dweller | WATER Sea Serpent ★4 ATK 1700 / DEF 1400 |
Photons of Galaxy [UR] Selection Box Vol.03 Mini [UR]
2 Level 4 monsters While this card has an Xyz Material attached that was originally WATER, all WATER monsters you control gain 500 ATK. Once per turn, during either player's turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; any card effects that activate in your opponent's Graveyard cannot be activated this turn. |
Generic rank 4 that works well against decks that uses graveyard related effects, potentially decent as a turn 1 play as well.
You can make this pretty easily with either Rabbit or Hamster, but only if both Goldrivers are in your deck.
Number 70: Malevolent Sin | DARK Insect ★4 ATK 2400 / DEF 1200 |
Photons of Galaxy [SR] | |
2 Level 4 monsters Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 monster your opponent controls; banish it until your opponent's next Standby Phase. At the end of the Damage Step, if this card attacked: You can make this card gain 300 ATK, and if you do, increase its Rank by 3. |
Works well against opponents that only have 1 monster on the field. Even better if it's an XYZ monster since it will remove all their materials, or if it's a monster that says that it can't be special summoned in the card text.
The Phantom Knights of Break Sword | DARK Warrior ★3 ATK 2000 / DEF 1000 |
Master Pack [SR] | |
2 Level 3 monsters Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 card you control and 1 card your opponent controls; destroy them. If this Xyz Summoned card is destroyed: You can target 2 "The Phantom Knights" monsters with the same Level in your Graveyard; Special Summon them and increase their Levels by 1, also you cannot Special Summon monsters for the rest of this turn, except DARK monsters. |
It has a card removal effect that almost works like Diamond Dire Wolf and a rank-up effect that works differently than just adding a higher rank on top of it.
You can use its effect to destroy Box of Friends so you can bring out 2 Metalfoes Normal Monsters then Fusion Summon Metalfoes Fusion Monster.
It's recommended to go after backrows first since it will be a huge problem if the monsters you special summoned get stopped by something like Floodgate Trap Hole or even Book of Moon.
