Duel Links Chemicritter (Gemini) deck, Chemicritter (Gemini) in the current meta, how to use.
update 09/04/2022

Overview

When using this deck, try to get a powerful gemini monster out as soon as possible. Easiest way to do this is get them into the graveyard, then special summon the monster with one of your many revival effects.

How to use

Poly-Chemicritter Monsters

Poly-Chemicritters are the 2 boss monsters of the deck. You can obtain a couple of these cards from Bastion's level-up reward. But since they were also available as drops from an old event, you can pick up more copies of them by using certain R or SR tickets.

With the Burnout trap card, you can use any Chemicritter monster on your field to special summon the 2 Poly-Chemicritters from your deck to the field. Catalyst Field field spell is also another way to bring them out, as well as providing a card removal effect.

Poly-Chemicritter Dioxogre
Poly-Chemicritter Dioxogre
DARK Fiend ★8
ATK 2800 / DEF 200
Bastion Misawa Lvl 40 [SR]
Inglorious Bastion Event [SR]
This card is treated as a Normal Monster while face-up on the field or in the Graveyard. While this card is a Normal Monster on the field, you can Normal Summon it to have it become an Effect Monster with these effects.

● The Normal Summon of a Gemini monster cannot be negated.
● Once per turn: You can banish 1 Gemini monster from your Graveyard, then target 1 card your opponent controls; destroy it.

Dioxogre is the monster that will be relied on the most since it's the highest ATK main deck monster and has a card removal effect.

If you use Burnout, you can special summon Dioxogre and Hydragon from your deck. You can follow it up by summoning the Dioxogre for its card removal effect, or Xyz into Methydraco to revive a Gemini in your grave so you can summon it.

There's also Heliopolis and Thunder End Dragon if you need multiple card destructions, but going into an Xyz without a gemini on the field will mean that you won't be able to activate Catalyst Field's removal effect.

Poly-Chemicritter Hydragon
Poly-Chemicritter Hydragon
WATER Dragon ★8
ATK 200 / DEF 2800
Bastion Misawa Lvl 35 [SR]
Duelist Chronicle GX: Yubel Event [SR}
Inglorious Bastion Event [SR]
This card is treated as a Normal Monster while face-up on the field or in the Graveyard. While this card is a Normal Monster on the field, you can Normal Summon it to have it become an Effect Monster with these effects.

● When a Gemini monster is Normal Summoned, except this card: You can make that monster gain 500 ATK and DEF.
● If a Gemini monster(s) you control would be destroyed by a card effect, you can destroy 1 other card you control instead.

Mainly in the deck because Burnout lets you special summon 2 Chemicritters from your deck but they need to be different names, so having this can give you easy access to a rank 8 Xyz together with Dioxogre.

It has a good amount of DEF, but the effects aren't going to be used often since there are better uses for the normal summon.

Chemicritter Monsters

Chemicritter Oxy Ox
Chemicritter Oxy Ox
WIND Beast ★2
ATK 0 / DEF 2100
Inglorius Bastion Event [SR]
Duelist Chronicle 5Ds: Fight for the Fortune Cup [SR]
This card is treated as a Normal Monster while face-up on the field or in the Graveyard. While this card is a Normal Monster on the field, you can Normal Summon it to have it become an Effect Monster with this effect.

● During your Main Phase: You can Special Summon 1 Gemini monster from your hand, and if you do, all Gemini monsters you currently control become that monster's original Level until the end of this turn. You can only use this effect of "Chemicritter Oxy Ox" once per turn.

Useful to just set when you can't make a play because of its good DEF. With Catalyst Field, you can use this to make a rank 2 Xyz with any other low-level Chemicritter.

If this card is in your graveyard, you can use Burnout to bring out 2 Poly-Chemicritters to make Methydraco. This will special summon Oxy Ox from the grave so you can summon it and gain the gemini effect. Special summon another level 2 to make a rank 2.

Alternatively, you can bring out Superalloy Beast Raptinus with Dragon's Mirror so you can gain Oxy Ox's gemini effect the moment you summon it.

Chemicritter Carbo Crab
Chemicritter Carbo Crab
FIRE Aqua ★2
ATK 700 / DEF 1400
Bastion Misawa at Lvl 11 and 33 [R]
Duelist Chronicles GX: Society of Light [R]
Inglorius Bastion Event [R]
D.D. Castle: Assault [R]
This card is treated as a Normal Monster while face-up on the field or in the Graveyard. While this card is a Normal Monster on the field, you can Normal Summon it to have it become an Effect Monster with this effect.

● During your Main Phase: You can send 1 Gemini monster from your Deck to the Graveyard, then add 1 Gemini monster from your Deck to your hand. You can only use this effect of "Chemicritter Carbo Crab" once per turn.

Its low stats can make it difficult to survive for 2 turns to be summoned twice, so it's recommended to only use this when you have Catalyst Field available.

You can consider this as one of the monsters to summon from the deck when using Burnout. If you don't need Dioxogre's card removal effect, summon Carbo Crab for a search effect instead. This helps filter the deck so you get fewer bad draws and potentially get Burnout or Catalyst Field much faster.

Chemicritter Hydron Hawk
Chemicritter Hydron Hawk
WATER Winged Beast ★2
ATK 1400 / DEF 700
Bastion Misawa at Lvl 16 and 23 [R]
Duelist Chronicles GX: Society of Light [R]
Inglorius Bastion Event [R]
D.D. Castle: Assault [R]
This card is treated as a Normal Monster while face-up on the field or in the Graveyard. While this card is a Normal Monster on the field, you can Normal Summon it to have it become an Effect Monster with this effect.

● You can discard 1 card, then target 1 Gemini monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon it in Defense Position. You can only use this effect of "Chemical Beast Hydron Hawk" once per turn.

Has the highest attack amongst the low-level Chemicritters. This is used more for some recovery on the later turns so you can bring back Hydragon, or any other level 2 so you can make a rank 2.

Catalyst Field

Catalyst Field
Catalyst Field
Field Spell
Chaotic Soldiers [R]
Each turn, 1 Level 5 or higher Gemini monster you Normal Summon can be Summoned without Tributing. During your Main Phase, you can Normal Summon 1 Gemini monster in addition to your Normal Summon/Set. (You can only gain this effect once per turn.) Once per turn: You can target 1 card your opponent controls; banish 1 Gemini monster you control, that is treated as an Effect Monster and has gained its effects, until your opponent's End Phase, and if you do, destroy that card.

This lets you summon a gemini and gain its effects on the same turn. A good turn 1 involves having this on your field + Oxy Ox and another monster with Burnout in your hand. You will be able to activate the field spell's card removal effect without leaving you defenseless.

Burnout

Burnout
Burnout
Normal Trap
Chaotic Soldiers [R]
Banish 1 face-up "Chemicritter" monster you control; Special Summon 2 "Chemicritter" monsters from your Deck, with different names from each other. When your opponent declares a direct attack, except the turn this card was sent to the Graveyard: You can banish this card from your Graveyard, then target 1 of your banished Gemini monsters; Special Summon it, and if you do, it becomes an Effect Monster and gains its effects. You can only activate 1 "Burnout" per turn.

Pretty much the most important card in the deck since this lets you summon 2 monsters from the deck, which will often be the Poly-Chemicritters. This makes it pretty easy to Xyz into a rank 8 or 2 for some combo plays, or just have a gemini effect of a monster that's in your deck.

Burnout's graveyard effect can be a little unreliable, but it's a decent way to bring back some of your banished monsters.

Extra Decks

Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon
Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon
LIGHT Dragon ★8
ATK 3000 / DEF 2500
Phantom of Rebellion [UR]
2 Level 8 monsters
Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 face-up monster your opponent controls; monsters you control cannot attack your opponent directly for the rest of this turn, except this card, also take control of the targeted monster until the End Phase, but while this effect is applied, it has its effects negated, its ATK becomes 3000, also its name becomes "Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon".

3000 ATK beater with an effect that lets you temporarily control your opponent's monster. Increasing the ATK to 3000 just means that you can choose a low ATK monster your opponent controls to help as a beater.

Its effect works best if your opponent has at least 2 monsters on the field. If your opponent has another 3000 ATK monster on the field, you can crash it with the one you took control of. If your opponent has another low ATK monster then you can potentially still OTK since the monster you took control of isn't attacking directly.

Thunder End Dragon
Thunder End Dragon
LIGHT Dragon ★8
ATK 3000 / DEF 2500
Chaotic Soldiers [UR]
2 Level 8 Normal Monsters
Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; destroy all other monsters on the field.

You'll need to use Dioxogre or Hydragons since they're the only level 8 monsters that are considered normal monsters in the deck. This gives the deck a non-targeting monster removal, and being able to attack after using the effect makes this really good.

Vola-Chemicritter Methydraco
Vola-Chemicritter Methydraco
FIRE Beast-Warrior ★8
ATK 3000 / DEF 3000
Chaotic Soldiers [R]
2 Level 8 Gemini monsters
When this card is Xyz Summoned: You can target 1 Gemini monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon it. While this card has Xyz Material, monsters your opponent controls cannot target Gemini monsters you control for attacks, also your opponent cannot target Gemini monsters you control with card effects. When a Gemini monster is Normal Summoned: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; make your opponent send 1 card from their hand or field to the Graveyard (their choice).

Can be a good follow-up after using Burnout, but only if you have a gemini in your grave. The card removal effect is a little unreliable since your opponent can choose the card, but this can at least give you a card advantage if you have Crab in the grave, or make a rank 2 Xyz if the one summoned is Ox or Hawk.

The Phantom Knights of Cursed Javelin
The Phantom Knights of Cursed Javelin
DARK Warrior ★2
ATK 1600 / DEF 0
Yuto at Lvl 21 and 30 [UR]
2 Level 2 monsters
You can detach 1 material from this card, then target 1 face-up monster your opponent controls; until the end of this turn, change its ATK to 0, also negate its effects. This is a Quick Effect if this card has a "The Phantom Knights" card as material. You can only use this effect of "The Phantom Knights of Cursed Javelin" once per turn.

As long as your opponent's monster can be targeted, this can help you get over them. Turning their ATK to 0 can potentially lead to an OTK.

Number 68: Sanaphond the Sky Prison
Number 68: Sanaphond the Sky Prison
DARK Rock ★8
ATK 2100 / DEF 2700
Infinite Ray [R]
Fantastic Arc [R]
2 Level 8 monsters
Gains 100 ATK and DEF for each monster in the GYs. Once per turn: You can detach 1 material from this card; until the end of your opponent's next turn, this card cannot be destroyed by card effects, also neither player can Special Summon monsters from the GYs.

Sanaphond is another powerful Rank-8 you can make, mostly only effective against decks that rely on special summoning from the grave. The Deck does a lot of discarding, so late game Sanaphond should easily reach 3000+ ATK. The detach effect is also very powerful, doubling as both protection and graveyard control.

Number 45: Crumble Logos the Prophet of Demolition
Number 45: Crumble Logos the Prophet of Demolition
EARTH Zombie ★2
ATK 2200 / DEF 0
Shark Fang [R]
2 or more Level 2 monsters
Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 other face-up card on the field; while this monster is face-up on the field, that target has its effects negated. While that target is on the field, cards with the same name as that target, and their effects, cannot be activated.

A negate effect that's continuous. Useful against certain monsters like Bloom Diva the Melodious Choir, or for field spells in general.

Other Cards Option

Superalloy Beast Raptinus & Dragon's Mirror

You can fusion summon Superalloy Beast Raptinus with Dragon's Mirror using any monsters that you have in your grave. Monsters that are banished can be special summoned back to your field through Burnout's graveyard effect.

Raptinus helps make Gemini monsters gain their effects right away, which can allow you to more easily and quickly bring out a Poly-Chemicritter or rank 2 with Hawk or Ox's effect. Raptinus is also a level 8, but you can only bring out Heliopolis since the other rank 8s need specific materials.

You can also just bring a Polymerization so you can send cards to the grave more easily.

Superalloy Beast Raptinus
Superalloy Beast Raptinus
LIGHT Dragon ★8
ATK 2200 / DEF 2200
Chaotic Compliance [SR]
1 Gemini Monster + 1 Gemini Monster

All Gemini Monsters on the field are treated as Effect Monsters, and gain their effects.
Dragons Mirror
Dragons Mirror
Normal Spell
Soul of Resurrection [SR]
Selection Box Vol.03 Mini [SR]
Dragonic Fusion (Skill) [SR]
Remove from play, from your side of the field or your Graveyard, Fusion Material Monsters that are listed on a Dragon-Type Fusion Monster Card, and Special Summon that Fusion Monster from your Extra Deck. (This Special Summon is treated as a Fusion Summon.)

Direct Attack Blocker

Kiteroid
Kiteroid
WIND Machine ★1
ATK 200 / DEF 400
Card Trader [SR]
Activate when you discard this card from your hand during damage calculation after a direct attack. Any Battle Damage you would receive from that direct attack becomes 0. Only once, if you remove this card from the game when it is in your Graveyard, any Battle Damage you would receive from a direct attack becomes 0.

There will be times where you can't make a play since it's not worth setting the monsters down without a Burnout or Catalyst Field. Having Kiteroid simply helps to stall the duel until you get better cards.

Storm Dragon's Return

Storm Dragons Return
Storm Dragons Return
Normal Trap
Masters of Shadow [SR]
Target 1 banished monster; Special Summon it to your field, but return it to the hand during the End Phase. You can only activate 1 "Storm Dragon's Return" per turn.

There will be a lot of self-banishing with this deck through either Dioxogre, Burnout, or Dragon's Mirror, so Storm Dragons Return will have a good chance of being used.

Other Extra Decks

Hieratic Sun Dragon Overlord of Heliopolis
Hieratic Sun Dragon Overlord of Heliopolis
LIGHT Dragon ★8
ATK 3000 / DEF 2500
Infinite Ray [UR]
2 Level 8 monsters
Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; Tribute any number of monsters from your hand and/or your side of the field (minimum 1), then destroy an equal number of cards on the field.

Similar to Thunder End Dragon, but this can destroy non-monster cards, and it's also a generic rank 8 Xyz so it's useful in many decks that use level 8. The cost of the effect can be somewhat restrictive, but being able to attack after a card removal is really good. At worst, it can sacrifice itself to destroy 1 card on your opponent's field.

Herald of Pure Light
Herald of Pure Light
LIGHT Fairy ★2
ATK 600 / DEF 1000
Tori Meadows at Lvl 33 and 35 [UR]
2 Level 2 monsters
You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 monster in your Graveyard; add it to your hand, then shuffle 1 card from your hand into the Deck. You can only use the effect of "Herald of Pure Light" once per turn.

One of the few generic rank 2 Xyz available currently. It's just to help with some card recovery.

Konami feared Geminis would be OP levels of broken and gave them terrible built-in limits with average effects. Neos Alius is one of the biggest offenders.

Imagine thinking that creating a monster that simply counts as EH Neos while on the field was gonna dominate the meta, so they nerfed it. Support for frigging Neo Spacians. It´s hilarious in so many levels.

...Except whenever a strategy gets a decent amount of new support (i.e., new/more copies of Chemicritters appearing, Gemini support coming out semi-recently, etc.), and with this deck directly relating to an event currently going on right now, Gamea might have reason to listen to such a request. Not to say it'll instantly jump to the top of their to-do list, but still.

Listen: I'm working on it, but this is nothing game-breaking. The best piece of support we got for "Gemini" is Gemini Spark and it has no synergy with the Chemiwhatever they're called.

Well, nobody said it had to be game-breaking. It's a Bastion deck, after all. So long as it's consistent in... whatever it does, it'll be fine.
