This card cannot be Normal Summoned or Set. This card cannot be Special Summoned except by Tributing 1 "Levia-Dragon - Daedalus". You can send "Umi" you control to the Graveyard to send all cards in both players' hands and on the field to the Graveyard, except this card.
You can special summon Levia-Dragon - Daedalus using Big Wave Small Wave, so you can special summon Neo-Daedalus when you have him in your hand. It uses up a lot of cards, but if you are planning on activating its ability, then it won't matter that much.
Alternative field spells
Forgotten Temple of the Deep and A Legendary Ocean can use to substitute for the usual Umi. This means that you won't have to use Mako's exclusive character skill, and are able to use skills like "Restart". The other Umi alternative cards also provide different effects, making other playstyles viable.
Using Interdimensional Matter Transporter or Dimension Gate, you can banish your monsters so they won't be affected by Daedalus/Neo-Daedalus' effect. This will leave you with 2 or 3 monsters left, while your opponent with no cards on their field and hand.
Dedalus and Neo Dedalus are fun to play... And their art is beautiful too.
How are you guys so surprised by this card's effect? Both Daedalus cards are old school & WERE a thing back in the day. Even one of my fav starter decks. I mean, I'd partially understand the shock of this was a new card, but it is simply not. :/
Agreed. This is my fav structure deck as well. Back in the days when the structure deck Fury from the Deep was released, it was such a shock.
My friend uses this card in his water he win 8 times in ranked duels!! This card effect if you are lucky can activate in the first turn if you have all the requirements to summon this card this card is op
Yep yep. I believe they really changed it because --
1: It threw off focus from Daedalus as it had a way more devastating effect.
2: Define Overshadowed > See #1~
But yea, it was more likely an unintentional misprint that they didn't fix until the WC was over that year...or so. ('cause I DEFINITELY was never getting cards when they 1st came out, lol)
ACtually it always did. When the card was first printed in the TCG there was a printing error. The first few lines of it's text were missing. Upper Deck actually had a mail in deal where if you gave them your miss print they'll mail you the corrected card later during that time help fix the issue.
The original Japanese version and the current English is the correct printing.
UR = Good??? I guess that's why Axe Raider, Daedalus, BES Core, Sky Scourge, etc are UR? Because they're fantastic cards!Either way DW isn't the worst card in the game but isn't worth using because of the discard effect. Better off running cards that are less situational. IDK man just seems like you love some garbage cards when you suggest Overwhelm and Prime material falcon LOL
why do people can't compare cards apple apple.in terms of countering monster effects, divine wrath is much better than ultimate providence. using dw let you discard any types of card, but if you're using up and no monster in your hand, you're dead. also, you need normal monster for otc, still more situasional than dw.
dw are less popular because people need efficiency in countering spell/trap, not just monster effects, and up will be more efficient than dw for that purpose. but dw is still the best trap for countering monster effects in any situation.
For personal reasons I am glad to see this card. A very devasting ability if pulled of. But that's a big IF, as it requires one specific monster (that first needs to be tribute/special summoned) and a specific labeled umi-card to use its effect, leaving ALOT of margin for error. Other than the nostalgia, the requirements for the payoff is kinda meh. But once the tide turns, there is little to no hope once the ability is executed successfully.
I suppose bad rankings is the better term for it then lol. Riryoku and other bad cards in PvP are rated very highly while others that are actually good are rated poorly. Idk who decides the rankings on this site but they definitely do not play this game
Oh that's an easy one: It is because all Initial Ratings, the ones the go up first, are rating for PvP (even tho still sometimes incorrect). Then, IF a second one is made, it is meant for say Farming or AutoDuel because there isn't much of a PvE in DL. Add in your last sentence and we have Game A's Rating System.
