1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters When this card is Synchro Summoned: You can destroy all cards on the field. Once per turn: You can banish 1 Plant-Type monster from your Graveyard, then target 1 Defense Position monster your opponent controls; change that target to face-up Attack Position, and if you do, its ATK becomes 0 until the end of this turn.
Can turn a defense position monster's attack stats to 0.
Forces opponent's monster to attack position.
Cons
Also destroys all cards on your field including itself.
Tips
You can use Black Rose Dragon's second effect to check face-down monsters your opponent controls while turing their attack to 0.
The first effect of destroying all cards on the field is optional and you can choose not to activate it upon summoning.
Summoning
Normal Summon Trident Warrior and use his effect to Special Summon a level-3 Tuner, then use both monsters to make Black Rose Dragon. Similarly, you can do this with Morphtronic Scopen and Special Summon a level-4 Morphtronic monster. Blue Rose Dragon can be used to revive Black Rose Dragon.
The effect of destroying your own monsters could be used to your advantage. Sacred Phoenix of Nephytys will revive itself after being destroyed and clear the board of all Spell/Trap cards. Yubel monsters will summon their next form upon being destroyed. And finally archetypes like Fire Kings have a number of effects that benefit them when destroyed by card effects.
After clearing the board with Black Rose Dragon your opponent would be open to direct attacks. To take full advantage of this opportunity you want as many monsters as possible on your field to hit your opponent. Here are some cards that can get you some extra monsters on the field.
Clearing the field with Black Rose Dragon opens your opponent to a lot of OTKs, one of these is with Cyberstein. Summon Cyberstein after clearing the board and with enough LP you can then summon a powerful fusion monster from your extra deck to end the duel.
