Level Duplication Reveal 1 monster in your hand and select 1 monster on your side of the field. The selected monster's level will become equal to the level of the monster you revealed. This Skill can only be used once per Duel. | Akiza Izinski |
The deck mainly runs Trap monsters which can fairly easily swarm the field without using up your Normal Summon. Throw in a couple of Tuners in the Deck to pair with your Trap monsters and make Synchro plays.
Psychic Wheeleder | EARTH Psychic ★3 ATK 600 / DEF 0 |
Dimension of the Wizards [UR]
If you control a Level 3 monster other than "Psychic Wheeleder", you can Special Summon this card (from your hand) in Defense Position. You can only Special Summon "Psychic Wheeleder" once per turn this way. If this card is sent to the GY as Synchro Material: You can target 1 monster on the field with less ATK than the Synchro Monster that used this card as material; destroy it. You can only use this effect of "Psychic Wheeleder" once per turn. |
Psychic Wheeleder's inherent Special Summoning condition allows for quick Synchro plays. In decks that don't run a lot of level-3 monsters, Wheeleder's Special Summoning condition can still be fulfilled by the Skill Level Duplication. Copy Wheeleder's Level onto a non-Tuner on the field then Special Summon Wheeleder.
The removal effect is essentially activated for free so it's great utility when using Wheeleder as a Tuner.
Reptilianne Lamia | DARK Reptile ★2 ATK 0 / DEF 0 |
Valhalla Calling [SR] | |
If this card is in your hand and all monsters you control are face-up Reptile monsters (min. 1): You can target 1 face-up monster your opponent controls; change its ATK to 0, and if you do, Special Summon this card, then take damage equal to that monster's original ATK. If this card is sent to the GY as Synchro Material: You can target up to 2 face-up monsters on the field; change their ATK to 0. You can only use 1 "Reptilianne Lamia" effect per turn, and only once that turn. |
Lamia's inherent Special Summoning effect won't be of much use in this Deck, but she is still worth running due to her effect when used as Synchro material. Special Summon your Trap monster and Normal Summon Lamia, then use both monsters to make a Synchro. Lamia's effect will activate and let you reduce two enemy monster ATKs to 0.
Altergeist Marionetter | LIGHT Spellcaster ★4 ATK 1600 / DEF 1700 |
Witchs Sorcery [SR] | |
When this card is Normal Summoned: You can Set 1 "Altergeist" Trap directly from your Deck to your Spell & Trap Zone. You can target 1 "Altergeist" card you control and 1 "Altergeist" monster in your GY; send that card on the field to the GY, and if you do, Special Summon that other monster from your GY. You can only use this effect of "Altergeist Marionetter" once per turn. |
Upon Normal Summoning, Marionetter fetches and sets Emulatelf. Marionetter is also your in-archetype revival card, letting you revive Fifinellag to get a Tuner on board. Both of these are good reasons to run max copies of Marionetter.
Altergeist Fifinellag | FIRE Spellcaster ★2 ATK 0 / DEF 1000 |
Witchs Sorcery [N] | |
Monsters your opponent controls cannot target "Altergeist" monsters you control for attacks, except "Altergeist Fifinellag", also your opponent cannot target "Altergeist" monsters you control with card effects, except "Altergeist Fifinellag". |
Fifinellag mainly is run due to being a Tuner that Marionetter can revive. The protection effect is very minimal, but can be decent if you're able to protect a bigger Altergeist like Dragvirion
Altergeist Emulatelf | Continuous Trap |
Witchs Sorcery [N] | |
Special Summon this card as an Effect Monster (Spellcaster-Type/LIGHT/Level 4/ATK 1400/DEF 1800). (This card is also still a Trap.) If Summoned this way, while it is in the Monster Zone, other "Altergeist" Traps you control cannot be destroyed by card effects, also neither player can target them with card effects. |
Emulatelf is also mainly run due to the lack of other Altergeist Traps for Marionetter to search. Emulatelf's second effect can be entirely ignore, the way it's played in this Deck is as a searchable Level-4 synchro material.
Because the only somewhat usable Altergeist Trap currently is a Trap monster, the best way to build an Altergeist deck is to use it as an Extra Deck spamming Trap monster deck.
Share the Pain | Normal Spell |
Blazing Rose [R] | |
Tribute 1 monster; make your opponent Tribute 1 monster (for no effect). |
Tribute Dragvirion and force your opponent to tribute one of their monsters. Dragvirion will revive itself while the opponent's monster won't. And since this is a tribute, floating effects are unlikely to be triggered.
The downside is your opponent will be the one deciding which of their monsters gets removed. But occasionally you can catch the opponent's boss monster alone on the field.
Enemy Controller | Quick Spell |
Seto Kaiba [SR] | |
Activate 1 of these effects. ● Target 1 face-up monster your opponent controls; change that target's battle position. ● Tribute 1 monster, then target 1 face-up monster your opponent controls; take control of that target until the End Phase. |
Enemy Controller's second effect lets you tribute Dragvirion to take an enemy monster. Dragvirion gets revived and, if that was their only monster, your opponent's field is now open for direct attacks by their own monster and Dragvirion.
Statue of Anguish Pattern | Continuous Spell |
Solemn Odion Roaming Event [UR]
Special Summon this card as an Effect Monster (Rock-Type/EARTH/Level 7/ATK 0/DEF 2500). (This card is also still a Trap Card.) If Summoned this way, this card cannot be targeted by an opponent's card effects while you control another Trap Card that is a monster. If a card is Special Summoned from your Spell & Trap Zone to the Monster Zone while this card is a monster: You can target 1 card on the field; destroy it. |
Statue of Anguish Pattern is summoned as a pretty high-leveled monster. Paired with a level-2 Tuner like Fifinellag, you can easily make Vermillion Mech Dragon. Two Statue of Anguish Pattern can also be paired to make a Rank-7 like Titanic Moth.
Anguish Pattern is a key card in many Trap monster decks. It's inherent protection and high DEF stat give it some good staying power. And the free removal effect from Special Summoning more Trap monsters gives you more payoff for running this type of Deck.
Tiki Soul | Continuous Trap |
Card Trader [UR] | |
Special Summon this card as an Effect Monster (Rock-Type/LIGHT/Level 4/ATK 1000/DEF 1800). (This card is also still a Trap Card.) While this card is an Effect Monster, if another Trap Card you control that is a monster would be destroyed by your opponent's card (either by battle or by card effect) and sent to your Graveyard, you can Set it in the Spell & Trap Card Zone instead. |
Tiki Soul's gives your Trap monster some recursion. But realistically this won't be of much use because your opponent can just attack Tiki Soul first. This does have some strategic use however, since you know your opponent will prioritize Tiki Soul first over other Trap monsters you control.
Swamp Mirrorer | Continuous Trap |
Card Trader [UR] | |
Activate this card by declaring 1 Monster Type and 1 Attribute; Special Summon this card as a Normal Monster (Level 4/ATK 1800/DEF 1000) with that Type and Attribute. (This card is also still a Trap Card.) |
Always declare Reptile Type to fulfill Lamia's inherent Special Summoning condition, the Attribute can be anything. Declare a specific Attribute for making Extra Deck monsters with more specific materials like Spider Shark. Because of his stats, Swamp Mirrorer is the Trap monster most likely to be used as a beater.
Quantum Cat | Continuous Trap |
Odion Lvl 45 [SR] Duelist Challenges [SR] Duelist Chronicle 5Ds: Fight for the Fortune Cup [SR]
Activate this card by declaring 1 Monster Type and 1 Attribute; Special Summon this card as a Normal Monster (Level 4/ATK 0/DEF 2200) with that Type and Attribute. (This card is also still a Trap Card.) |
Quantum Cat is the high DEF low ATK counterpart of Swamp Mirrorer. Like Swamp Mirrorer, declare Reptile Type and the Attribute can be anything. Declare a specific Attribute for making Extra Deck monsters with more specific materials like Spider Shark.
Crystron Quariongandrax | WATER Machine ★9 ATK 3000 / DEF 3000 |
Cybernetic Rebellion [UR]
2 or more Tuners + 1 non-Tuner monster If this card is Synchro Summoned: You can target monsters your opponent controls and/or in their Graveyard, up to the number of Synchro Materials used for the Synchro Summon of this card; banish them. If this Synchro Summoned card is destroyed by battle or card effect: You can target 1 banished monster, except this card; Special Summon it to your field. |
Upon summoning Quariongandrax you can target up to three enemy cards for non-destruction banishing removal. You can get rid of all monsters on your opponent’s side of the field with a single card and then attack them directly for 3000 damage. The floating effect is also quite powerful; allowing you to revive any banished monster, even the ones you banished upon summoning Quariongandrax.
Vermillion Dragon Mech | FIRE Machine ★9 ATK 2700 / DEF 1800 |
Blazing Rose [UR] | |
1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters Once per turn: You can banish 1 Tuner from your hand, field, or Graveyard, then target 1 card on the field; destroy it. If this Synchro Summoned card is destroyed by card effect and sent to the Graveyard: You can target 1 of your banished Tuners; add it to your hand. |
Vermillion Dragon Mech has good stats and a good cost-efficient removal effect. Prioritize banishing the non-Altergeist Tuners for Vermillion Dragon Mech's cost because those can't be recycled anyway.
Scrap Dragon | EARTH Dragon ★8 ATK 2800 / DEF 2000 |
Valhalla Calling [UR] | |
1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters Once per turn: You can target 1 card you control and 1 card your opponent controls; destroy them. When this card is destroyed by your opponent's card (either by battle or by card effect) and sent to the Graveyard: Target 1 non-Synchro "Scrap" monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon that target. |
Scrap Dragon has decent stats and a one-for-one removal effect. This removal effect is can help you unclog your backrow while also getting rid of an enemy card.
Battlewasp - Hama the Conquering Bow | WIND Insect ★8 ATK 2800 / DEF 2000 |
Witchs Sorcery [UR] | |
1 Tuner + 1+ non-Tuner monsters If this card was Synchro Summoned using a Synchro Monster as material, it can make a second attack during each Battle Phase. You can only use each of the following effects of "Battlewasp - Hama the Conquering Bow" once per turn. ● When this card inflicts battle damage to your opponent: You can make all monsters your opponent currently controls lose 1000 ATK/DEF. ● At the end of your Battle Phase, if your opponent has not taken any battle damage this Phase: You can inflict 300 damage to your opponent for each "Battlewasp" monster in your GY. |
Hama has decent ATK stats and a good mass debuff effect. Hama can be Synchro climbed from a Level-6 Synchro to activate his double attack effect, this way he also benefits from his debuff effect.
The problem is getting the first attack off in cases where your opponent does not control any weak attack position for Hama to deal damage.
Black Rose Dragon | FIRE Dragon ★7 ATK 2400 / DEF 1800 |
Blazing Rose [UR] | |
1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters When this card is Synchro Summoned: You can destroy all cards on the field. Once per turn: You can banish 1 Plant-Type monster from your Graveyard, then target 1 Defense Position monster your opponent controls; change that target to face-up Attack Position, and if you do, its ATK becomes 0 until the end of this turn. |
Summon Black Rose Dragon to break your opponent's established board. Greatly punishes opponents that overcommit their board.
Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Barrier | WATER Sea Serpent ★6 ATK 2300 / DEF 1400 |
Aerial Assault [UR] | |
1 Tuner + 1+ non-Tuner monsters You can discard any number of cards to the GY, then target the same number of cards your opponent controls; return those cards to the hand. You can only use this effect of "Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Barrier" once per turn. |
Brionac is able to remove as many cards as you want from the opponent's field as long as you have enough discard costs on hand.
Altergeist Dragvirion | DARK Spellcaster ★6 ATK 2200 / DEF 1200 |
Witchs Sorcery [R] | |
1 Tuner + 1+ non-Tuner monsters When an opponent's Special Summoned monster declares an attack: You can return 1 "Altergeist" monster you control to the hand; negate that attack. If this card is Tributed and sent to the GY: You can Special Summon this card. You can only use each effect of "Altergeist Dragvirion" once per turn. |
The attack negation is not really that good. Nothing happens to the attacking monster, and you'll be losing field presence. Best case you're returning Marionetter to the hand, to later Normal Summon him and reuse his search effect. However, getting Altergeists on the field to use as cost for this attack negation is quite easy with Marionetter and Emulatelf.
Dragvirion has a unique second effect that is quite useful. Tribute him as cost for cards such as Enemy Controller and he revives himself for free.
Number 37: Hope Woven Dragon Spider Shark | WATER Fish ★4 ATK 2600 / DEF 2100 |
Shark Fang [UR] | |
2 Level 4 WATER monsters When any player's monster declares an attack: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; all monsters your opponent currently controls lose 1000 ATK until the end of this turn. When this card is destroyed by battle or card effect and sent to the Graveyard: You can target 1 other monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon it. You can only use each effect of "Number 37: Hope Woven Dragon Spider Shark" once per turn. |
Spider Shark is a great boss monster you can make with any combination of Swamp Mirrorer and Quantum Cat, just remember to declare WATER Attribute. The first effect is enough to entirely deter the opponent from attacking while Spider Shark is on the field.
The floating effect is essentially a Monster Reborn. You can even revive another copy of Spider Shark and other Extra Deck monsters.
Diamond Dire Wolf | EARTH Beast ★4 ATK 2000 / DEF 1200 |
Voltage of the Metal [SR]
2 Level 4 monsters Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 Beast, Beast-Warrior, or Winged Beast-Type monster you control and 1 other card on the field; destroy them. |
Summon Dire Wolf for on-demand removal. Dire Wolf's purpose is to destroy itself along with an enemy card.
Number 28: Titanic Moth | FIRE Insect ★7 ATK 2400 / DEF 2200 |
Shark Fang [R] | |
2 Level 7 monsters If you control no other monsters, this card can attack directly, but when it does so using this effect, the battle damage inflicted to your opponent is halved. When this card inflicts battle damage to your opponent: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; inflict 500 damage to your opponent for each card in their hand. |
Titanic Moth is able to deal a ton of damage between its direct attack and burn damage. If the attack is successful, this can sometimes win you the game.
Ballista Squad | Normal Trap |
Fortress of Gears [UR] | |
Tribute 1 monster, then target 1 card your opponent controls; destroy it. |
Karma Cut | Normal Trap |
Arena of Sanctuary [SR] Selection Box Vol. 02 Mini [SR]
Discard 1 card, then target 1 face-up monster your opponent controls; banish that target, then banish all cards with the same name as that monster from your opponent's Graveyard. |
Reptilianne Hydra | DARK Reptile ★6 ATK 2100 / DEF 1500 |
Blackstorm Rising [R] | |
1 "Reptilianne" Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters When this card is Synchro Summoned, destroy all face-up monsters with 0 ATK that your opponent controls, and draw 1 card for each monster destroyed. |
