Attack is high for a monster that doesn't require a tribute.
Defense is decent, some monsters can't surpass it. E.g. Sergeant Electro.

Cons

It can't gain benefit from equip cards that increases attack. This card destroys equip cards that is equipped to it.
Even though it has a decent defense, there are still a lot of monster that doesn't require a tribute that can surpass it.

This card can be special summoned if there is a Gearfried the Iron Knight on the field along with Release Restraint.

Equipping this card to your Iron Knight will trigger its effect which you can choose which card to discard in your opponent's hand.

I guess not, I already ask the same question in metalmorph page, and it seem if it is equip card, either spell or trap gearfried will destroy it once equip.

LOL! I just tried to farm him (Cerberus). Anytime he summoned Gearfried the Iron Knight, it showed the card as 0 ATK/0 DEF without name on it. I had my Eatgaboon Set for his last Timewizard. Last Turn, Cerberus at 9k ATK, he flip summons his glitched Gearfried, then normaled his Time Wizard and I didn't get the chance to activate my Gaboon, nor did it do the "effect activating"-bling (don#t know how to describe, you know what I mean) but there was just the coin (in the same second it summoned). Pure luck it wasn't heads.
