It is often unlikely that your opponent will attack and destroy your Winged Kuriboh, unless you set it and surprise your opponent, but you can still use certain cards to destroy your own Winged Kuriboh from the field. Destroying it on your turn allows you to attack into your opponent's monster without being able to take battle damage. They can still get destroyed by battle if your opponent uses cards like Mirror Wall though.
Winged Kuriboh can be a good way to stall the duel. You can use Tea's exclusive skill Holy Guard to be protected from battle damage during your turn and your opponent's turn. Cards like Unhappy Girl can be an effective way to lock your opponent's monster. Pair it with cards like Anti-Magic Prism for some defensive setup, or Yomi Ship, D.D. Warrior, and Exploder Dragon to take down more difficult monsters.
