Anti-Magic Prism could do well on decks with Pegasus' Mind Scan skill. By having the knowledge of your opponent's set cards, you could force the activation of those Quick-Play Spell Cards by targeting them using cards such as Sergeant Electro, Nobleman of Extermination or De-Spell. Once they activated it, you can then use Anti-Magic Prism to destroy a card in the field.

Why this card doesnt activate?..
I set this card in my zone. Then I attacked my opponents monster, then he activated enemy controllers which is a quick play spell. Suddenly this card doesnt activated as he use EC against my monster. This happens to me two times. And I lose..

Is this card broken?

You can't activate traps on the same turn you set them

This trap is severely underrated. Counters the big 3 quick-play spell cards: SRH, Econ, and Order to charge, effectively making them useless and destroying opponents monster.

Card is boof

I had this card set face down as a trap and my opponent used a quick play spell when I attacked one of his monsters to cut my monsters attack in half and the anti magic prism didn't activate. I clicked on it and stuff to see if I had to activate it manually and nothing happened. Since It didn't activate, my opponent was able to tribute and monster from his 2 monsters on the field. His monsters effect was to clear any card on my board. So I had nothing to defend with and 1150 health, and of course, if the anti magic prism would have activated, all that would have never been able to happen cuz I would have destroyed his monster, dissableing him from doing a tribute summon.

A trap need 1 turn to set before it can be use. Or like most of the card, it can't be activate in damage step unless it's some how include atk/def buff/debuff.

the exact same thing happened to me, the card was half shut and i had my anti magic prism down from turn 1. I attack, he uses half shut and i expect to destroy his monster anyway and direct attack but no activation from AMP and costs me the game next turn. No idea what happened.

The quickplay in question sounds like it was activated in the damage step. Only certain cards can be activated in the damage step (such as counter trap cards, quick effects that negate, effects that change the attack/defense of a monster, and a few others). Anti-Magic Prism is not a Counter Trap card. The person probably activated the card in damage step to which you cant chain AMP

Knowing that almost everyone in PVP runs Econ and OTC (through vanilla monsters)... This card is powerful.. Destroying a card is powerful.

It work on OTC. OTC remove and 🔥 monster after the card is resolve. If monster for tribute die first, OTC won't work.

For OTC and SRH, you can destroy their monster, making the card useless.

And if someone uses ECON to try to take control of your own monster, you can destroy it so your opponent can't use it. Mind Scan has become a common ability now these days. It actually helps to know your opponent is up to something and take measures to stop your opponent, just like in the anime.

so many 🔥s here. it doesnt negate otc it would just destroy a card if your opponent only has otc and normal monster you dont have a target. It's situational cause it only works on quick-play spell, it wouldn't counter riryoku, soul exchange to name a few. It's a good card but stop thinking it's op

It did counter OTC. OCT only remove monster after the card is resolve. If the monster for tribute is dead before the effect is complete, OTC won't work.

Konami are constantly releasing counters to E-Con. Wouldn't it be easier just to semi-limit it?

What's wrong with this card? It's not op at all and this card's effect is only limited to Quick Play Spell. You need to adapt on new changes.

I ment semi-limit E-Con. Instead of constantly releasing awkward counters to E-Con, just semi-limit it. It will open up a place for new cards in most deck because everyone(except for 3SD DM and Toon) runs 3 copies of it.

As far as situational cards go, this is not a bad one. Especially in meta.
