Unlike Abyssmegalo, Abyssteus requires you to discard only one WATER monster in order to be Summoned and, to make it even more cost-efficient, it also allows you to add a Level 4 or lower “Mermail” monster from your Deck to your hand when it’s Summoned this way. Effectively, you summon it for no resource loss, and you can even gain advantage with the discarded monster's effect.

Another Combo Extender Piece when she is discarded to the Graveyard (You can make this with Mermail Abyssmegalo or Mermail Abyssteus' effect) then make an Xyz or Link Monster.

Atlantean Monsters

Atlantean monsters are meant to be used as a cost for your discard effects. When used this way their removal effects are also triggered. Atlantean Dragoons is used to search Sea serpents like Deep Sea Diva/Marksman/Heavy Infantry, Marksman is used to destroying set cards, while Heavy Infantry is used to destroy face-up cards.

  • Atlantean Dragoons: Sea-Serpent-Type Searcher with 1800 decent ATK stats Beater.

  • Atlantean Marksman: Set Backrow Removal and able to bring out 1 Level 4 or lower Atlantean monster (Ideally Dragoons) for dealing a massive amount of Battle Damage or OTK.
  • Atlantean Heavy Infantry: Extra Normal Summon effectively lets you make Xyz monsters. Summon another Atlantean after Heavy Infantry, activate Territory of the Sharks then make a Rank-4.

A Level 9 Synchro "Slifer the Sky Dragon" with max 2 Free Card Draw while Ravenous Crocodragon is Synchro Summoned. Ravenous Crocodragon's Speed 2 removal effect uses cost from the hand card, which you can trigger those Atlantean Monsters' effects. Overall it is a decent beater with a targeting removal effect.

While this card has an Xyz Material attached that was originally WATER, all WATER monsters you control gain 500 ATK. Once per turn, during either player's turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; any card effects that activate in your opponent's Graveyard cannot be activated this turn.

Abyss Dweller is another popular Xyz monster run in Territory of the Sharks Decks. This monster is great at preventing the opponent from using resources from the graveyard such as The White Stone of Ancients and all Noble Arms. But making Spider Shark usually take priority.

Make sure to toggle your chain to "ON" instead of "AUTO" then use Abyss Dweller's effect at the start of the opponent's turn for best results.

When this card is destroyed by battle or card effect and sent to the Graveyard: You can target 1 other monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon it. You can only use each effect of "Number 37: Hope Woven Dragon Spider Shark" once per turn.

Spider Shark is a powerful boss monster in many WATER Decks, especially ones that use Territory of the Sharks. The Skill makes it very easy to get Spider Shark on the field. The first effect is enough to entirely deter the opponent from attacking while Spider Shark is on the field. It also lets you beatdown enemy monsters even though your deck generally has below average ATK without complete buffs.

The floating effect is essentially a Monster Reborn. You can even revive another copy of Spider Shark and other Extra Deck monsters.

You can only use each effect of "Marincess Coral Anemone" once per turn.

1500 or Less ATK Water Monster Revival effect will allow you to bring back core pieces for another Combo Setup. The Summon Limitation effect doesn't matter since all of the Monsters in this deck are Water-Attribute.

Weaknesses

  • Mermails are still quite fragile and most of their plays end up consuming all of their resources, which means cards like Drowning Mirror Force and Wall of Disruption can be devastating.
  • Atlantean Marksman will often not be enough to get rid of your opponent’s entire back row, but there’s also not enough space for Hey, Trunade! or Cosmic Cyclone.

The discard cost on this low-level monster is one of the more versatile ways you can activate the effect of Abyssgunde and Atlanteans. This is because Abysspike's effect also activates when Special Summoned by Abyss-sphere and Abysslinde so you can use Atlanteans' removal during the opponent's turn.

Abysslinde is a good monster to Special Summon with Abyss-sphere because it lets you float into something more permanent. Instead of summoning Abyssmegalo with Abyss-sphere which will self destruct, Special Summon Abysslinde then use Abysslinde's effect to Special Summon Abyssmegalo.

You also can use Mermail Abysslinde’s effect to Special Summon Mermail Abysspike and then use Abysspike’s effect to add a Level 3 WATER monster from your Deck to your hand.

Special Summon 1 "Mermail" monster from your Deck. Its effects are negated. You cannot activate any Spell Cards. When this card leaves the field, destroy that monster. Destroy this card during your opponent's next End Phase after activation.

Use Abyss-sphere to Special Summon Mermail Abysslinde. If Abyss-sphere leaves the field, Abysslinde will be destroyed and it will allow you to Special Summon a “Mermail” monster from your Deck. Even if nothing happens to Abyss-sphere, during the next End Phase of your opponent’s turn after its activation, the Continuous Trap will destroy itself.

Keep in mind that, if your opponent responds to the activation of Abyss-sphere by activating Cosmic Cyclone, banishing the Continuous Trap, you don’t get to Special Summon any monster.

Abyss-scale Techs

Mermail Abyssmegalo allows you to add an “Abyss-” Spell/Trap Card from your Deck to your hand when it’s Special Summoned by its own effect.

You can use Abyssmegalo’s effect to search Abyss-sphere or any of the Abyss-equips.

  • Abyss-scale of Mizuchi can be sent to the Graveyard to negate the effect of an opponent’s Spell Card;
  • Abyss-scale of Cetus can be sent to the Graveyard to negate the effect of an opponent’s Trap Card;
  • Abyss-scale of the Kraken can be sent to the Graveyard to negate the effect of an opponent’s monster.

Merrowgeist's effect can be useful to disrupt enemy decks that have a lot of graveyard recursion. But her low ATK makes it difficult for her to actually destroy monsters by battle unless Spider Shark is also on the field.

Gutted, spent around 20k gems getting all the cards for this deck but I cant find a decent build for it. Help?

Check YT dan's deck in youtube. Inconsistent compare to the tier1s but viable enough to climb KoG. I think that is the most optimal built.

I think it’s time to chance the meta decks. Masked hero, Amazonas, Fur Hire, Spellbook are dominating the game, it’s verte 🔥 and Boeing to play like this.

U.A. and Vampires are very good right now as well. I would say that's a really good meta with lots of diversity. Both expensive decks such as spellbook and masked hero as well as cheap such as fur hire and amazoness.

I agree. Im at KC 14 and everytime i see Amazoness I sigh. I have no problem with anything else but I havent had the luck to pull more Marksmen and I havent gotten to getting Abyss Soldier.

I have ran the SSA variant of the deck but the Mermail/Atlantean version seemed to be a lot more consistent.

The version that's worked best for me is similar to the example deck above but remove Abyssgunde and replace them with Moray Of Greed and remove Drowning Mirror Force for Salvage.

Nah, those atlantean can easily chained when they discarded to graveyard. You will only lose card advantage for nothing.

I honestly think a SSA variant seems better. The fact that you can summon Whale and get SSA by tributing Infantry and Marksman while triggering their effect makes for a good disruption move. This variant doesn't really rely on Megalo either, so 1 or 2 copies is more than enough.

Builded like that is good only for second turn; turn one recoon will ruin your drowning and you will be destroyed in a second; vs amazoness you will never get megalo on the field free to attack, because it uses all chainable traps.

Pro tip for this deck: either run backrow removal or SSA. Megalo gets completely shut down by Canadia and Trap Hole, it's not even funny. Doesn't help that the deck is extremely inconsistent.

The deck basically already has built in backrow removal with Marksmen and Heavy Infantry... I've tried adding Cosmic Cyclone, Galaxy Cyclone and SSA but made the deck sooo bricky and inconsistent.

Have you actually tried this and it worked? Because I agree on paper it makes sense but in practice this hasn't worked for me. No hate, just genuinely curious dude!

While it does have removal, cards like Canadia and Trap Hole can be chained to the destruction effect. Marksman is really good for Traps that activate during the Battle phase like Drowning and Wall of D.
