Black Rose Dragon OTK: deck recipe

Note: Evilswarm Mandragora is a Plant-Type monster, which gives it synergy with World Carrotweight Champion, but, if you don’t have it, you can play Dynatherium or Trident Warrior.

Normal Summon Naturia Rosewhip, Special Summon Dark Verger from the Graveyard, activate Super Solar Nutrient by Tributing the Level 2 Plant-Type monster and Special Summon World Carrotweight Champion or Evilswarm Mandragora from your Deck. Now you can Special Summon Black Rose Dragon and destroy all cards on the field.

If you don’t have Super Solar Nutrient available, you can always use Naturia Rosewhip and Dark Verger to Special Summon Armades, Keeper of Boundaries.

If your opponent controls more monsters than you do, you can Special Summon Evilswarm Mandragora from your hand. You can Special Summon Mandragora, Normal Summon Delta Flyer or Naturia Rosewhip and then Synchro Summon Black Rose Dragon. How is this card better than Dynatherium then? Most of the times you are not going to want to Special Summon Black Rose Dragon on Turn 1 and Evilswarm Mandragora is a Plant-Type monster, which means you can discard it to Special Summon World Carrotweight Champion from your Graveyard.

Normal Summon Delta Flyer (Level 3 Dragon-Type Tuner) or Naturia Rosewhip (Level 3 Plant-Type Tuner), Special Summon White Rose Dragon from your hand via its effect and Synchro Summon Black Rose Dragon. If White Rose Dragon is sent to the Graveyard as Synchro Material, it allows you to send a Level 4 or higher Plant-Type monster from your Deck to the Graveyard. Send World Carrotweight Champion from your Deck to the Graveyard via White Rose Dragon’s effect and then Special Summon it by sending a Plant-Type monster from your hand to the Graveyard.

Activate Stardust Shimmer and Special Summon Black Rose Dragon from your Graveyard by removing from play monsters in your Graveyard whose total Levels equal 7.

Now you can OTK your opponent with Black Rose Dragon and World Carrotweight Champion (2400 + 1900 = 4300).

Normal Summon Spore, Special Summon Dark Verger from the Graveyard, Synchro Summon Goyo Defender. Now, if Goyo Defender is the only monster you control, you can Special Summon another Goyo Defender from your Extra Deck. Special Summon Spore from the Graveyard by banishing Dark Verger (Spore’s Level will be increased by 2) and Synchro Summon Mist Wurm. If Mist Wurm is Synchro Summoned, you can target up to 3 cards your opponent controls and return them to the hand. If your opponent has 2500 or less Life Points, you can use Mist Wurm to close the game.

• Delta Flyer or Naturia Rosewhip
• White Rose Dragon
• Stardust Shimmer
• Plant-Type monster

My initial intention was just to build a deck around Black Rose Dragon that could be played as Akiza, but the combinations that this particular Skill offers with Spore and Super Solar Nutrient are actually very good. The only other Skills I considered for this deck were Level Duplication and Level Augmentation.

• A few issues with consistency can definitely be found, but there multiple combinations of cards that can at least lead into a Black Rose Dragon board wipe.
• The possibility of drawing into World Carrotweight Champion is a problem.
• The Sanctified Darklord and Forbidden Chalice can be used to negate Black Rose Dragon’s effect.
• Paleozoic Canadia and Treacherous Trap Hole can be used to prevent you from Synchro Summoning.
• Your opponent can prevent Legendary Six Samurai - Shi En from being destroyed by destroying another “Six Samurai” monster they control.
