Evaluation

RatingA-

Pros

  • Good stats.
  • Can negate opponent’s Spell/Trap cards.
  • Self protection effect.

Cons

  • Self Protection effect requires you to destroy another Six Samurai monster.
  • Semi-specific Synchro materials.

Tips

  • Having both Legendary Six Samurai - Shi En and Great Shogun Shien on the field at the same time does not mean you lock your opponent out of activating Spell/Trap cards. Spell/Trap cards negated by Shi En do not count towards the one activation Great Shogun Shien allows.

Summoning

Normal Summon Legendary Six Samurai - Kageki and use his effect to Special Summon Kagemusha of the Six Samurai or Secret Six Samurai - Genba and use them to make Legendary Six Samurai - Shi En.

You can Normal Summon Secret Six Samurai - Fuma and then Special Summon Legendary Six Samurai - Kizan and use both monsters to Synchro Summon Shi En.

Revival

You can only revive Shi En if he was Synchro Summoned properly first. Use Cunning of the Six Samurai to send a Six Samurai monster on your field and revive Shi En.

You can revive Shi En with Return of the Six Samurai. And instead of destroying Shi En during the End Phase, you can use his protection effect to destroy another Six Samurai monster you control instead.

This guy is the reason why I run multiple copies of Void Trap Holes and Floodgates.

He's the latest and biggest boy on the block.

This card should be limited, along with Enishi.

No? The bigger problem is the cards that turbo it out

It doesn't matter. It should be limited, too. Only one of each per deck.

The problem isn't Shi En, its how easy it is to get it in play on turn 1 or 2, which is why a lot of people hate this card. If Konami ever does decide to nerf stuff, its probably going to be either Enishi or the main Synchro monster.

they put dojo to 2 and thats it

May as well call this card "Win Button"

That's pretty much what this thing is 99% of the time.

Another broken card after silent magician.

Was silent magician ever considered broken?

During the height of the Silent Spellbook meta, yes

Spellbook isn’t even near broken. It’s good but there were other decks at that time that competes well against each other.

With full power six sams, it’s like cyber angels. You either play the deck, if you’re playing anything else you’re gonna get 🔥ed in the 🔥 real hard.

How do you seriously gonna deal with 2 of them right on your opponent field along with Enishi?

Their graveyard has 2 fuma and other samurai monsters.

You literally have 2 traps cards and 1 quickplay spell

This caused me to lose 4 times in a row

Not fair

How to deal with 2 shien? Tech in lava golem.

The best way to avoid OTK from Shi En is to play any kuriboh / sphere version of there little guy. (Now I see why they nerfed Last Gamble lol, good move, otherwise Samurais wouldn't have been good when released)

If anything this dude slayed another archetype kinda too early lolz

even when you can deal with him by having to 2 canadia/floodgate in 1 turn, it can be brought back from graveyard easily. stupid deck.
