With some good rank 3 XYZ cards available, a deck that focuses on just them can even be good. It works partly because of Yugi's Sentrification skill, making it easier to XYZ since it can be special summoned once every turn. As well as some useful normal monsters supports to help speed it up.
[Skill] description | User |
---|---|
Sentrification Turn all the "Giant Soldier of Stone" in your Graveyard into "Sentry Soldier of Stone". This Skill can only be used once per Duel. | Yugi Muto (DSOD) |
Gorgonic Gargoyle | DARK Rock ★3 ATK 1000 / DEF 800 |
Shark Fang [R] Arts of Atlantis [R] | |
When you Normal Summon a Rock-Type monster: You can Special Summon this card from your hand. |
A simple special summoning effect to help go into an XYZ. Helps prevent some bricks if you don't end up drawing a special summon card.
Out of all the normal monsters that can be used with Rescue Rabbit, Giant Soldier of Stone is a decent option since it essentially has an effect IF you use it with the Sentrification skill.
Once it becomes Sentry Soldier of Stone, any 1 rock card that you have on your field can be used to XYZ into a rank 3.
Giant Soldier of Stone | EARTH Rock ★3 ATK 1300 / DEF 2000 |
Yugi Muto [SR] Tour Guide's Mission Bingo Event [SR] Card Trader Inventory [SR] | |
A giant warrior made of stone. A punch from this creature has earth-shaking results. |
Sentry Soldier of Stone | EARTH Rock ★3 ATK 1300 / DEF 2000 |
Yugi Muto (DSOD) at Lvl 10, 16, and 21 [R] | |
If all monsters you control are Rock-Type monsters (min. 1) while this card is in your Graveyard: You can Special Summon this card. You can only use this effect of "Sentry Soldier of Stone" once per turn. |
Chronomaly Crystal Bones | LIGHT Rock ★3 ATK 1300 / DEF 400 |
Trey at Lvl 11, 21, and 35 [UR] | |
If your opponent controls a monster and you control no monsters, you can Special Summon this card (from your hand). When you do: You can Special Summon 1 "Chronomaly" monster from your hand or Graveyard, except "Chronomaly Crystal Bones". |
A more budget-friendly option if you don't have Rescue Rabbit. This helps with turn 2 plays since this won't use your normal summon, but doesn't have a good turn 1 play unless you get Gorgonic Gargoyle or Painful Decision.
You can use this with Sentry Soldier to Xyz into a rank 3 and try to force something from your opponent. If they destroy your monster, you can special summon another Crystal Bones from your hand to make follow-up plays with another level 3.
Rescue Rabbit | EARTH Beast ★4 ATK 300 / DEF 100 |
Infinite Ray [UR] | |
Cannot be Special Summoned from the Deck. You can banish this face-up card you control; Special Summon 2 Level 4 or lower Normal Monsters with the same name from your Deck. Destroy them during the End Phase. You can only use the effect of "Rescue Rabbit" once per turn. |
Its sole purpose is to special summon 2 level 3s to XYZ into a rank 3. You'll want to focus on using the Giant Soldier of Stones from your deck first so that you can use the skill later.
Unexpected Dai | Normal Spell |
Stardust Acceleration [UR] Gladiator's Storm [UR] | |
If you control no monsters: Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower Normal Monster from the Deck. |
A staple card if your deck mostly uses normal monsters. Simply used to special summon from the deck to help XYZ into a rank 3.
If you have another level 3 in your hand, use Unexpected Dai to summon Giant Soldier of Stone. If you use your XYZ monsters' effect, send the Giant Soldier of Stone to the grave so you can use the skill later.
Painful Decision | Normal Spell |
Servants of Kings [SR] | |
Send 1 Level 4 or lower Normal Monster from your Deck to the Graveyard, and if you do, add 1 monster with the same name as that card from your Deck to your hand. You can only activate 1 "Painful Decision" per turn. |
The easiest way to send Giant Soldier of Stone to the grave, making this into a 1 card XYZ.
A good pair with Unexpected Dai since you can XYZ into a rank 3 before using up your normal summon in case your opponent responds with something.
Number 47: Nightmare Shark | WATER Fish ★3 ATK 2000 / DEF 2000 |
Reginald Kastle Unlock Event [UR] | |
2 Level 3 monsters When this card is Special Summoned: You can attach 1 Level 3 WATER monster from your hand or your side of the field to this card as an Xyz Material. Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 WATER monster you control; this turn, that monster can attack your opponent directly, also other monsters cannot attack. |
One of the deck's winning conditions. It essentially lets you deal with some strong boss monsters that you can't get over. If you only bring 1 in your deck, then this is better used to finish off your opponents, or if you have Gorgonic Guardian to help it survive.
Gorgonic Guardian | DARK Rock ★3 ATK 1600 / DEF 1200 |
Arts of Atlantis [SR] | |
2 Level 3 Rock-Type monsters Once per turn, during either player's turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 face-up monster your opponent controls; its ATK becomes 0, and if it does, its effects are negated. These effects last until the end of this turn. Once per turn: You can target 1 monster on the field with 0 ATK; destroy it. |
The best rank 3 XYZ that this deck can utilize. It's a safe monster to XYZ into if you ever get first turn since it can stop your opponent's plays.
It can help deal with most monsters, but weak to ones that you can't target.
Ghostrick Alucard | DARK Zombie ★3 ATK 1800 / DEF 1600 |
Photons of Galaxy [SR] | |
2 Level 3 monsters Monsters your opponent controls cannot target face-up "Ghostrick" monsters, or any face-down Defense Position monsters, for attacks, except this one. You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 Set card your opponent controls; destroy that target. You can only use this effect of "Ghostrick Alucard" once per turn. If this card is sent to the Graveyard: You can target 1 other "Ghostrick" card in your Graveyard; add that target to your hand. |
Soul of Silvermountain | EARTH Rock ★3 ATK 1800 / DEF 2200 |
Shark Fang [R] | |
2 Level 3 EARTH monsters Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card to target 1 Set card in your opponent's Spell & Trap Card Zone; it cannot be activated while this card is face-up on the field. If this card destroys an opponent's monster by battle while it has Xyz Material: You can target 1 EARTH monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon that target in face-up Defense Position. |
Both Alucard and Silvermountain are your options for dealing with your opponent's back row. You can put 2 of the same copies since they are both essentially the same thing, but Alucard is slightly better since it can target set monsters.
Number 20: Giga-Brilliant | LIGHT Insect ★3 ATK 1800 / DEF 1800 |
Number Hunter: Kite Tenjo Unlock Event [SR] | |
2 Level 3 monsters Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; all face-up monsters you currently control gain 300 ATK. |
Digital Bug Corebage | LIGHT Insect ★5 ATK 2200 / DEF 1800 |
Infinite Ray [R] | |
2 or more Level 5 LIGHT Insect-Type monsters You can also Xyz Summon this card by detaching 2 Xyz Materials from a Rank 3 or 4 Insect-Type Xyz Monster you control, then using that Xyz Monster as the Xyz Material. (Xyz Materials attached to that monster also become Xyz Materials on this card.) Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 Defense Position monster your opponent controls; shuffle it into the Deck. Once per turn, if the battle position of a monster(s) on the field is changed (except during the Damage Step): You can attach 1 Insect-Type monster from your Graveyard to this card as Xyz Material. |
Giga-Brilliant is only here to get to Corebage, and it's this deck's solution to defensive opponents, which tends to happen if you summon Gorgonic Guardian.
