Genex: deck recipe

Duel Links Breaking News
New pack: Absolute Inferno!
update 16/08/2017

This deck focuses on field control and searching your deck to gain card advantage. The skill Sleight of Hand and your defensive spell/trap cards will compensate for this deck's overall lack in attack power.

Set skill

[Skill] descriptionUsers
Sleight of Hand
Can be used each time your Life Points decrease by 1500. Add 1 7 Completed card, hidden in your wristband, to your hand. This skill can only be used once per turn and twice per Duel.

How to use

Search deck

R-Genex Magma and R-Genex Crusher searches your deck for other Genex monsters. R-Genex Magma can only search lvl 2 Genex monsters, so use him to search put R-Genex Crusher. Meanwhile, R-Genex Crusher can only search out lvl 4 Genex monsters, so use him to search out R-Genex Ultimum.

Field control

  • Use Sergeant Electro to lockdown your opponent's spell/trap cards, eventually clogging their entire spell/trap zone. Sergeant Electro is a key card in this deck so it is important to keep him on the board, use spell/trap cards to protect him and increase his attack.
  • Always tribute a R-Genex monster when summoning Genex Army, so that you can activate his effect and destroy a card your opponent controls. Use this to remove any big monster or troublesome cards your opponents might have.

Boost your attack

  • Everytime your LP is reduced by 1500 points, you can use Sleight of Hand to add a 7 Completed card to your hand. Use this equip card to boost your monster's attack so that they can fight bigger monsters.
  • Rare Metalmorph is a great card to use with any machine-type monster, aside from increasing the equipped monster's attack by 500 point it makes the monster immune to any spell effects. Although, using both 7 Completed and Rare Metalmorph on a single monster is not recommended.

Other useful cards

Cyber Dinosaur
Cyber Dinosaur
Machine-type monster that you can special summon from your hand when your opponent special summons a monster, mostly so that you can maintain field presense.
Perfect Machine King
Perfect Machine King
Could serve as a really big beater for this deck, since all your monsters are machine-type. But might be really slow to summon
7 Completed
7 Completed
You can add this card to your deck so you do not have to rely on Sleight of Hand to get it.
Gravity Blaster
Gravity Blaster
Continuously boosts your attack every turn and negates the effects of monsters during battle.
Machine Assembly Line
Machine Assembly Line
Boosts all machine-type monsters on the field and can be used as revival for a machine-type monster.
Magnet Force
Magnet Force
Protects your monsters from other monster effects.

The page was created in 2017, a couple of weeks after Electric Overload, the newest pack featured in this deck, was released. (It says so right on the page. >.>)

You should check out the Genex Synchro page then.
Ever consider using Faustian Bargain in the deck? Tribute one special summoned monster (Either side of the field) to summons one level 4 or lower normal monster. I love it.

Who is that gold faggot at gameA building trash decks? Let me help you noob.

Remove Sergeant Electro and add one more Genex Army and Genex Crusher.

Sleight of Hand is a trash skill for silver retards, use Mind scan to know what to destroy with Genex Army.

Now that would look a bit better

I wouldn't take out Electro because his effect is to good.

I would play him at 3.

I wouldn't add another R-Genex Crusher because you are already running 3x R-Genex Ultimum.

You have a high chance of getting 1 of them in your opening hand.

In addition, you will only have 2 targets left so having 3x R-Genex Crusher will result in a dead draw.

Furthermore, R-Genex Crusher stats suck.

It seems more ideal to me to run a 3-2 ratio with Ultimum & Crusher respectifully.

I think that is how I would make the deck if I was to play this version of the deck.

Of course, I don't own these cards.

I didn't feel like buying the box.

I am a character deck builder.

The only character which used any of these cards in that box that I am aware of is Kaiba.

I believe Kaiba used XYZ machine once in anime.

I might make a deck with them eventually.

However, I don't have the gems to shell out for it right now.

x3 Genex army is asking for a brick hand.

Mind Scans great and all but that's what sergeant electro is for.

And try a more beater oriented deck with The Tie That Binds. Imo it is more consistent .

2x Genex Army
3x Turbine
2x Ultimum
3x Searcher
3x Accelerator
1x Electro(I only have 1)

1x Wall of Disruption
3x Machine Assembly Line
Gotten to Platinum undefeated twice with a simple monster lineup of

3 Turbine
3 Searcher
2 Army
1 Ultimum
The rest was staples, 1~3 Rare Metalmorph, 1 Gaia Power 0~3 Genex Accelerator (Played it with Aroma on Mai) and staple STs.

Being in plat doesn't mean it's a good deck. I can play any sort of meme deck if I am in plat 1, for example.

I've made it to legend 2 with a few alterations
forget the deck shown above... just make your OWN build...

few cards important for MY Genex decks...
2x Twin-Barrel Dragon
3x Genex Ally Powercell
2x Genex Army
1x Genex Ally Reliver
1x Mecha Phantom Hamstrat
1x Aqua Chorus
1x Machine Assembly Line

2x Z-Metal Tank
2x Y-Dragon Head
2x Head Cannon
1x XY-Dragon Cannon(no polymerisation
2x XZ-Tank Cannon(no polymerisation
2x YZ-Tank Dragon(no polymerisation

3xGenexPowercell+AquaChorus+AssemblyLine = 3400atk on each Powercell... (TwinBarrel gains 500atk from powercell too)...

safe MechaPhantom in case you have an empty front line or use it to fill your MachineAssembly...
always place some counter traps/spells
and at least 1 MachineAssemblyLine...
negate a enemie trap/spell allows you to special summon AllyReliever from your HAND use it befor your backline is empty in case you still have space on the field...

i still work on this deck... i always play 30 cards 15 monsters
and 15 Spell/Trap cards...
i still switch my spells/traps often so i dont even list them here
Why would you use rare metalmorph over the good metalmorph lol.
