RatingA-

Pros

  • Great stats.
  • Your opponent cannot activate cards or effects when this card attacks or being attacked.
  • Cannot be destroyed by Battle.
  • Does not need Polymerization to fusion summon.
  • Has the option to return to Extra deck and special summon 2 Gladiator
  • Beast monsters at the End phase.

Cons

  • All 3 monsters in your field must be Gladiator Beasts to summon this card.

Tips

  • Nerokius is one of the most powerful Gladiator Beast you can use, as it literally shuts down any response options your opponent has during its attack, including Sphere Kuriboh’s effect cannot be used. It cannot be destroyed by battle, even if your opponents uses stronger ATK monster, you take damage to your Life Points but Nerokius stays.
  • This also means Nerokius can never be hit by Wall of Disruption effect. However if you attack with another monster from your field, your opponent can still trigger cards like Wall of Disruption. In this case, simply return Nerokius to your Extra deck and summon it again during your next turn to regain its full Attack power. Always remember Gladiator Beasts unique “returning to deck” effect is a way to play around Wall of Disruption and exhaust your opponent’s protection resources.
  • Be very careful with your Gladiator Beast monsters because if your opponent uses Floodgate Trap Hole and flips your monsters face-down upon summoning, your monsters will not be able to use their effect and therefore cannot return to your deck. Use Parry as an option to negate this card.
  • If your Gladiator Beast has been flipped face-down by opponent’s Floodgate Trap Hole, you can use Contact Fusion to Special Summon stronger Gladiator Beasts and return the face-down Gladiator Beast back to your deck.
  • Have some counter measures ready for Enemy Controller tribute take plays because that is the current meta and efficient way of dealing with stronger opposing monsters. Nerokius can only be taken during your opponent’s Main phase.

Special Summon Gladiator Beast

Gladiator Beast Darius and Gladiator Beast Augustus are able to Special Summon another Gladiator Beast monster with their unique effect. This helps you setup Nerokius’ Fusion Summoning. Use Test Tiger to quickly go into Darius or Augustus.

Archetype Support

Gladiator Beasts are used as a control deck which is further supported by their powerful Counter Trap cards. Gladiator Beast War Chariot is a free negate on your opponent’s monsters effect.

Speed Summon

Secutor is the fastest way to bring this monster out. When Secutor is brought out by the effect of another Gladiator Beast and your opponent attacks into it, you can special summon 2 Gladiator Beasts from your deck. You just need to Normal summon another Gladiator Beast during your next standby phase, you can Special summon Nerokius using 3 Gladiator Beasts. Secutor must remain on the field after opponent’s attack to activate its effect.

Utility Gladiator Beasts

Before you get your strong Gladiator Beasts out, you can use these Gladiator Beasts repeatedly to destroy your opponent’s face-up monsters or spell/traps, weakening them considerably and provide a smoother path for your strong Gladiator Beasts to wipe them out.

Archetype Support

This field spell is specifically tailored for Gladiator Beasts, and it increases their ATK and DEF by 100 for every Special summon counters this card has. The counter increases for every Special summon conducted by either players.

Use this to protect Nerokius should your opponent attempts to destroy it with card effects. You can also use this to protect Secutor in order to successfully activate its effect.

Grants the Gladiator Beast the ability to destroy 1 Spell/Trap during End Phase after it attacks. This card will return directly to your hand if the equipped Gladiator Beast is returned to your deck.

Negates activation of Spells and destroy it, but you need to return 1 Gladiator Beast monster from your hand to your deck as cost. This is useful to prevent opponents using Enemy Controller to take control of your Nerokius.

Negates activation of trap card and destroys it, but you need to return 1 Gladiator Beast monster from your hand to your deck as cost. This is useful to prevent Floodgate Trap Hole that can jeopardize your Gladiator Beasts’ effects.

Why don't they require polymerization? The only cards to do that before are the XYZ machine types which makes sense. This just make an already OP deck even more OP.

Is it me or does anyone else notice that even in this new box and boxes before, EVERYTHING FALLS TO E-CON, a card that you can run 3 of btw. Not many monsters in this game can say 🔥 e-con besides(of the top of my head) silent magician. Smh no archtype in this box is going to see any play becuase e-con, floodgate and wall of d will just shut everything down its 🔥ing sad that duel links is more about backrowing than the actual 🔥ing monsters and their stats and abilities

This guy is worth to summon in my opinion though. It is shuts spell trap and monster effect when it attacks so no ebola or flip effect can stop it. Plus it cannot be destroyed by battle the only weakness it has is econ take or something like exiled force or any destroying effect on main phase. But overall very solid card

I initially thought the new pack was garbaj, until I paid attention to this card's description, goddamn. Maybe Gladiator Beasts has a chance in being the new meta after all. The only weakness this card probably has is ECON take and ONLY during opponent's main phase (cannot be done at battle phase). Other than that it pretty much shuts down everything.

I know I tried the guy out on pvp this guy is so so good literally. It cannot be destroyed by battle and it negates monster effect that activates on the battle phase so it negates that fire zombie gemini effect *terrible with names* really solid card.

Just without the Banishment & can be re-summon quite easily once it is recalled. Tag Fusion at its best. Neos is similar but require much more to stay relevant or be open for an attack.

This is good
