Alector, Sovereign of Birds | Decks and Tips

If your opponent controls 2 or more face-up monsters of the same Attribute, you can Special Summon this card (from your hand). Once per turn: You can target 1 face-up card on the field; that target's effects are negated during this turn. There can only be 1 face-up "Alector, Sovereign of Birds" on the field.

• Can be Special Summoned from your Hand if your opponent controls 2 or more monsters with the same attribute.
• Can designate 1 of your opponent’s monsters and stop it from activating its effects for that turn. This effect can be used once per turn during your main phase.
• Good ATK and DEF stats.

• There can only be 1 of this monster on the Field.
• Can be slower to summon if your opponent does not use monsters with same attribute.

• This monster may effectively disrupt monsters with continuous effects, such as Jinzo with Trap lockdown effect, or Silent Magician Lv 8 with Spell immunity effects, or Wiz, Sage Fur Hire that can negate your Spell/Trap activation, allowing you to plan your counterplays.
• However, this monster lacks further synergy with other archetypes therefore it is still a challenge to use this card effectively.

These are some of the fastest way to Normal/Tribute Summon Alector. Soul Exchange uses your opponent’s monster as Tribute cost to Tribute summon Alector, but you cannot attack during that turn. You can pay 1000 LP using Mausoleum of the Emperor to Normal Summon Alector. You can Special Summon Dynatherium from your Hand, and Tribute it for Alector. Berlineth, the Firestorm Vassal requires you to discard 1 card to Special Summon it to the Field, but you gain advantage by tributing it for Alector, you can view your opponent’s hand and banish 1 card from it till the End Phase.

You can activate Cost Down and discard Gusto Griffin as cost, to allow you to Normal Summon Alecto to the Field. Gusto Griffin’s effect activates at the same time to allow you to Special Summon another “Gusto” monster to the Field from your Deck.
