This monster may effectively disrupt monsters with continuous effects, such as Jinzo with Trap lockdown effect, or Silent Magician Lv 8 with Spell immunity effects, or Wiz, Sage Fur Hire that can negate your Spell/Trap activation, allowing you to plan your counterplays.
However, this monster lacks further synergy with other archetypes therefore it is still a challenge to use this card effectively.
These are some of the fastest way to Normal/Tribute Summon Alector. Soul Exchange uses your opponent’s monster as Tribute cost to Tribute summon Alector, but you cannot attack during that turn. You can pay 1000 LP using Mausoleum of the Emperor to Normal Summon Alector. You can Special Summon Dynatherium from your Hand, and Tribute it for Alector. Berlineth, the Firestorm Vassal requires you to discard 1 card to Special Summon it to the Field, but you gain advantage by tributing it for Alector, you can view your opponent’s hand and banish 1 card from it till the End Phase.
You can activate Cost Down and discard Gusto Griffin as cost, to allow you to Normal Summon Alecto to the Field. Gusto Griffin’s effect activates at the same time to allow you to Special Summon another “Gusto” monster to the Field from your Deck.

Hi, can somebody tell me if this card has a glitch or is there a rule I don't know about?
Everytime I want to special summon this card on my first turn (and duel's second turn) after my opponent summoned and special summoned two or three monsters of which at least two of them have the same attribute - I can't special summon this card, I can only normal summon another monster, and if my opponent doesn't beat me after that I can special summon this card on my second (duel's fourr turb), plus normal summon another mobster. This only happens on my first and duel's second turn, all conditions are fulfilled and my oponent doesn't have a monster or card that stopped me from special summoning this card on my first turn....
My monsters don't prevent me from summoning him, I have this deck for a while, I know my monsters well, it's not even my oponent monsters, I double checked, and while those monsters and my monsters were still on the field I summoned this card on my next turn (I saved myself using Windstorm of Etaqua) nothing on the field changed except the turn I tried to summon him

This card is amazing in both most common meta decks - Fur Hire and Amazoness.
Note that it can negate the effect of ANY face-up card on the field, not just monster card effect.
So, you can use it to negate the effect of cards such as Wiz, Onslaught or U.A. Stadium, AND it's easily Special summoned so it doesn't take up your Normal summon for that turn.
Good against Amazoness (most Earth attr.) and negate Amaz. Onslaught, Destiny-Masked Hero (most Dark attr.), SSA (most Water attr.) and negate SSA itself, Archfiend (most Dark attr.) and negate Call of the Archfiend, Hazy-Fire Fist (most Fire attr.) and negate FF-Gyokkou, Ancient Gear (most Earth attr.)
