Normal Summon Subterror Nemesis Warrior and activate your Skill by returning a card from your hand to the Deck. During your opponent’s Standby Phase (Toggle Button ON), activate Subterror Nemesis Warrior’s effect, send Subterror Behemoth Umastryx or Subterror Behemoth Stygokraken from your Deck to the Graveyard and Tribute Subterror Nemesis Warrior and Grand Tiki Elder or Melchid the Four-Face Beast to Special Summon in face-up or face-down Defense Position the “Subterror Behemoth” that was sent to the Graveyard.
If you activate the Skill Masked Tribute you cannot Normal or Special Summon monsters for the rest of the turn, so you will have to wait for your opponent’s turn to Summon a “Subterror Behemoth”. If there’s a Lava Golem or a Parasite Paracide on your side of the field that you want to get rid of, you can Tribute it via Subterror Nemesis Warrior’s effect to Summon Subterror Behemoth Speleogeist, Umastryx or Stygokraken.
If a “Subterror Behemoth” monster is flipped face-up, you can Special Summon Subterror Nemesis Warrior from your Graveyard. Even if you have multiple copies of Subterror Nemesis Warrior in your Graveyard, you can only use this effect once per turn.
Mahjong Munia Maidens, Guardian Statue or Golem Sentry
What if I don’t open with Subterror Nemesis Warrior? You can still Summon your “Subterror Behemoth” monsters by Normal Summoning Mahjong Munia Maidens, Guardian Statue or Golem Sentry and changing them to face-down Defense Position via their own effects. When a monster you control is flipped face-down, if you control no face-up monsters, you can Special Summon Subterror Behemoth Umastryx, Stygokraken or Speleogeist from your hand.
Your “Subterror Behemoth” monsters have the ability to flip themselves face-down as well, so, if you control one, you can Special Summon another one from your hand. You cannot Special Summon multiple “Subterror Behemoth” monsters at once because their effect has to be activated in response to your monster being flipped face-down
When you activate Subterror Final Battle, you can choose to apply 1 of 4 different effects and then Set it instead of sending it to the Graveyard.
You can change 1 Set "Subterror" monster on the field to face-up Attack or Defense Position.
Use this effect to flip your “Subterror Behemoth” monsters and trigger their effects. If your opponent locks one of your “Subterror” monsters in face-down Defense Position with Floodgate Trap Hole, you can use Subterror Final Battle to change it to face-up Attack Position.
You can change 1 face-up "Subterror" monster on the field to face-down Defense Position.
The ATK and DEF of 1 "Subterror" monster on the field become equal to its combined original ATK and DEF until the end of this turn.
Both Subterror Behemoth Umastryx and Stygokraken definitely lack when it comes to ATK, especially if you compare them to monsters like Blue-Eyes White Dragon and Ancient Gear Reactor Dragon, but, thanks to Subterror Final Battle, you can flip the situation around.
This turn, activated effects of "Subterror" cards cannot be negated.
Does this mean my opponent cannot negate the effect of my Subterror Behemoth Umastryx with Red-Eyes Slash Dragon? Unfortunately, Red-Eyes Slash Dragon is able to negate the “activation of the effect” and not “the effect”, so the 4th effect of Subterror Final Battle cannot do anything in this situation.
Always Summon Subterror Nemesis Warrior before activating this Skill. Ideally, you should shuffle back into the Deck the “Subterror Behemoth” monster you intend to send to the Graveyard and Special Summon via Subterror Nemesis Warrior’s effect.
Heavy Starter If your Deck has 3 or more Level 5 or higher monsters with different names, you will have improved chance of having a Level 5 or higher monster in your starting hand.
If you do not have the Skill Masked Tribute, do not worry: you can still play a competitive Subterror deck thanks to Heavy Starter. Heavy Starter will guarantee a Level 5 or higher monster in your opening hand, which you will be able to Special Summon thanks to cards like Swarm of Locusts, Mahjong Munia Maidens, Guardian Statue and Golem Sentry.
Six Samurai Matchups (Favorable)
Legendary Six Samurai - Enishi cannot target and return to the hand a monster if it’s not face-up and your opponent would need three monsters on the field in order to get over a Defense Position Subterror Behemoth Umastryx with Legendary Six Samurai - Shi En.
If one of your “Subterror” monsters is targeted by Legendary Six Samurai - Enishi, you can even activate Subterror Final Battle and flip that monster face-down in order to prevent it from being returned to the hand. Can’t Shi En just negate your Trap Card? Well yes, but actually no. Your opponent attacks your face-down Subterror Behemoth Umastryx, you banish their Legendary Six Samurai - Shi En and now you can activate Subterror Final Battle freely.
Neos Fusion Matchups (Neutral)
If you activate Subterror Nemesis Warrior’s effect during your opponent’s Standby Phase by setting your Toggle Button to ON, your opponent will not be able to Summon Lava Golem. Elemental HERO Brave Neos is not able to get over Subterror Behemoth Umastryx on Summon (2600 ATK with 1 Elemental HERO Neos in the GY) and, as long as your monsters are face-down, Karakuri Ninja mdl 339 "Sazank" will not be an issue either.
If you banish The White Stone of Ancients or Dawn Knight via Subterror Behemoth Umastryx’s effect, your opponent will not be able to Special Summon Blue-Eyes White Dragon or Dragon Spirit of White from the Deck. Snipe Hunter can be an issue on Turn 2 as it can end up enabling an OTK and Dragon Spirit of White can banish your Subterror Final Battle, preventing you from recycling it.
Red-Eyes Fusion Matchups (Favorable)
Red-Eyes Slash Dragon cannot negate Subterror Behemoth Umastryx or Subterror Behemoth Stygokraken’s effect if you have Subterror Nemesis Warrior in your Graveyard and you activate its effect. If you remove Red-Eyes Slash Dragon from the field via Subterror Behemoth Umastryx’s effect, your opponent will not be able to activate Red-Eyes Retro Dragon or Red-Eyes Slash Dragon’s own effect to recover.
Geartown Turbo Matchup (Unfavorable)
Ancient Gear Reactor Dragon (and Ancient Gear Wyvern) will prevent you from activating your monsters’ effects as well as Subterror Final Battle upon attack declaration. Ancient Gear Reactor Dragon, even without Ancient Gear Castle, is able to get over a Defense Position Subterror Behemoth Umastryx and you can’t even target it the turn it was Summoned if Ancient Gear Fortress is active, which means you can’t activate Subterror Final Battle or Enemy Controller before your opponent declares an attack.
Now, your opponent will not always have a way to Summon Ancient Gear Reactor Dragon AND an Ancient Gear Fortress, but it still should be noted that it is not much you can do against this particular combination of cards. If Geartown Turbo rises back in popularity, it might be a good idea to start playing Skull Meister and/or Cosmic Cyclone.

This deck is at the same tier level as Yubel decks.
You either lock the opponent completely or suck hard from Ancient gears/Lava golem/TTH into your face down monsters.
Feels awkward and lacks some other archetype cards.
You must be very lucky if you are not lying.
I meet Ancient gears every 3-4 duel and it's impossible to win with this deck against it, unless they brick really hard and you have a god hand. Flip effects are not activated, traps are removed, low attack to get rid or reactor dragons.
This deck is also very weak to Treacherous trap hole
i like playing subterrors when they actually work and dont brick like crazy. you know when you actually have a hand like 2 umastryx a flip monster and final battle. they didnt even release the best subterror card yet which is guru
