This card can be treated as 2 Tributes for the Tribute Summon of a Dragon-Type monster. While this card is in your hand or Graveyard, if a face-up Dragon-Type monster on the field, except "Keeper of the Shrine", is sent to the Graveyard by a card effect or because it was destroyed by battle: You can Special Summon this card, then, if that monster sent to the Graveyard is a Normal Monster, you can add 1 Dragon-Type Normal Monster from your Graveyard to your hand. You can only use this effect of "Keeper of the Shrine" once per turn.

  • Can be used as 2 tributes.
  • Special Summons itself from your hand or graveyard.
  • Searches your deck for a Normal Dragon monster.
  • Good defense.

  • No attack stat.
  • Requires Dragon monsters to be sent to the graveyard to Special Summon himself.
  • Can only use search effect if the monster sent to the graveyard was a Normal Dragon-type.

  • Can also be used against a Dragon deck because of his ability to revive himself when your opponent’s Dragon-type monster is sent to the graveyard.

The strongest monsters in a Blue-Eyes deck are Dragon-type Normal monsters or Dragon-type monsters that act as Normal monsters. They are also high-leveled monsters that require 2 tributes to summon. All these factors help you maximize all the effects of Keeper of the Shrine.

Hieratics are Dragon-type monsters that rely on Normal Dragon-type monsters to fuel their effects. Their summoning and tributing of Normal Dragon monsters can trigger Keeper of the Shrine’s revival. Keeper of the Shrine can also be used as tribute fodder for Hieratic Dragon of Asar.

Normal Dragon

Here are some Normal Dragon-type monsters which can let you search other Normal Dragons with Keeper of the Shrine’s effect. Gemini monsters are treated as Normal monsters before they are Gemini Summoned.

Does it work when face-down white stone is sent to the gy by battle? (Because it will flip face-up when battle)
