If you control a Level 7 or higher Normal Monster, when a monster would be Summoned OR a Spell/Trap Card is activated: Negate the Summon or activation, and if you do, destroy that card.

The effect negating the summon or activation is very powerful. You will use this card when your deck is specialized to special summon high level monsters.

Blue-Eyes White Dragon

Blue-Eyes White Dragon

A good option to use Champion's Vigilance with. It has high attack and good defense, but it's also easy to use with BEWD because Kaibaman is available and you can obtain multiple copies without buying packs.

Phoenix Gearfried

Good in a gemini deck but a little trickier to use since summoning this using Blazewing Butterfly or with Superalloy Beast Raptinus on the field, this will become an effect monster.

This card needs to be emergency banned. This card far exceeds the power of every other card in the game right now. Konami is a bunch of brainless morons for every putting this in the game so early.

Think about how to have 7 stars or higher monster in your field. Normally, you need to tribute two monster cards and plus 7 stars monster itself that three cards right there.

3SD is getting nerfed, so that is good.

was in a duel, let opponent summon Kaibaman, then when he went to special summon bewd it allowed him and i didnt have a chance to activate vigilance. i set it a few turns before, and had dark magician lvl 7 in attack position. shouldnt it have stopped his special summon of bewd?

You should have used it on Kaibaman directly

Would this be able to activate if you were to attack a face down flip effect monster like Hane Hane?

It will only negate a Flip Summon, which is different than being flipped face-up from an attack. It will not negate monster effects, nor attacks. Nothing about that situation would trigger a vigilance. :)

It is supposed to counter special summon too? I played dark necrofear and it got countered.

According to yugioh wikia :
"CV only can be activated against Special Summons which do not start Chain Links, such as that of "Chaos Sorcerer" or Xyz Summons."
It means CV can negated a special summon from a monster that you need to banishing or discarding a cards first special summon it.
So, it also applies on (can negates) dark necrofear or valkyrion special summon.

excuse me , Dark Magician is a NORMAL MONSTER

and i too lost ad uel because of that . Set it 1 turn before . The opponent activated Magical Armed Shield and i couldn't counter

Until the end of the turn 7star monsters are summoned by 3sd, they stay at 4star and of course CV won't work

wow this game is becoming really unplayable if you don't have these kinds of cards, back then the most trouble you'll face was mirror wall and michizure

Might be time to revisit this card and maybe put a restriction on it. It's become way to easy to get a level 7 normal out first turn. And this card is way to strong

How is it fair that a guy can get 2 dark magician first turn and double summon and use 3sd and I use 2 ritual of destruction and get champions vigilanced twice and lose second turn. How much of a joke is that.

His first turn so technically second turn. And i lost 4th turn I guess. I had a wide open field 4th turn cuz he vigilanced my sonic bird and 1 ritual of destruction so technically he blocked 3 cards. Was just trying to simplify it.

I set vigilance a turn before, then i tribute summon blue eyes and attack, my opponent uses blast held and vigilance never triggers... is this a bug?

Well, I control DM, have set CV the turn before, and my opponent activates Black Illusion. I don't activate it when he uses the ritual spell waiting for him to summon Relinquished, but CV didn't trigger to destroy Reli. Why?

how did you summon dark magician? If you did 3SD CV wouldnt work on the turn it was summoned
