You can Ritual Summon this card with "Black Illusion Ritual". Once per turn: You can target 1 monster your opponent controls; equip that target to this card. (You can only equip 1 monster at a time to this card with this effect.) This card's ATK and DEF become equal to that equipped monster's. If this card would be destroyed by battle, destroy that equipped monster instead. While equipped with that monster, any battle damage you take from battles involving this card inflicts equal effect damage to your opponent.

Pros

The effect of this card is very useful to remove a monster that cannot be destroyed by card effect such as Water monsters with Sea Lord's Amulet.
Excellent with the effect of Sphere Kuriboh. You can ritual summon this monster only banishing a Sphere Kuriboh in your graveyard.

Cons

Takes up spell/trap slots in your field when its effect is used.
Zero stats.

Tips

Bring Sphere Kuriboh to summon this much more easily.

If you at all struggle against this card then I suggest running Gravelstorm in your deck. Not only does the equip leave from Relinquished, it also returns to the owner's hand (which in most cases would be yours)

YO is this card able tobe affected by trap cards at all????? I used Windstorm of Etaqua to change it to defense position and it just continued its attack without changing to defense postion. I also used Michizure to try and finish it off but once again the card simply brushes it off and nothing happens except losing the match entirely.

If it was summoned by tributing "Djinn Disserere of Rituals" it cannot be affected by trap cards

Does the effect of Relinquished not work on monsters that are special summoned/fusions? I am playing the Meteor B Dragon deck against the computer, but it refuses to let me take control of Meteor B Dragon or either Red-eyes Black Dragon or Meteor Dragon (both of which were special summoned via Dragon Flute).

Effect of Lord of Dragons

There are a few cards (Hane-Hane, Divine Wraith, Skull Lair, etc.) that can counter Relinquished but boy it is still really hard to do it. Most players using this card has their deck/skill built to summon it in at most 3-4 turns. If you didn't draw any key cards before they summon it you are screwed, not to mention your opponents can also have cards to counter your counter-cards. The Atmosphere has similar ability but take more time/resources to summon and can easily be killed due to its lack of battle protection.

I started playing Duel Link after the Pegasus event so i didn't even get to unlock him. With status quo I really think there is a huge divide between players who own this card and those who don't.

There's lots of ways to counter relinquished. Lots. Let's keep in mind here, it's a 3 card combo to make it work. That's a total of 6 cards that are needed to make it work, out of a 20 card deck. This deck has no beaters, like.....at all. They aren't going to win the attack point battle. Even with Switcheroo, you can still go without a single card to help summon Relinq.

They're vulnerable to dead draws, same as any. It depends on board control, and that's it. The deck certainly has it's weaknesses, and if you have it, you know them. it STILL can lose to any deck out there. People really need to L2P.

You know nothing really, yes I win against it but if my key card is not come before I most likely to loss. What is that 3 card combo or 6 card combo you said about. Good relin (just good has this property) can substitute ANY 3 cards in 20 cards deck to make it work. They just put Bird/Senju so that they didn't need to be exact draw ritual/relin. They'll put interdimensiona trap to protect it.

And very low dead draw in relin+switcheroo deck. Just see in high rank KC Cup or KOG. Those deck almost 100% can ritual it. It depend on you can win it or not.

I keep Susa Soldier in my deck, one card and it is an EXCELLENT counter to relinquished. It is returned to your hand after you attack so it cant be equipped after destroying the equip monster. Then, once its LP is 0 again, destroy it next hand.

I think that would not work with the classic (Halo King) Relinquished deck, because that has 1 Sphere Kuriboh, 2 Enemy controllers, and 2 Interdimensional Matter Transporters, each of them can handle the Susa Soldier.

relinquished needs n

relinquished needs to be nerfed, anyone with that card and like sonic bird n thousand arms dude litterally wins the game in like 3-4 turns. its very hard to counter this combo as he litterally is too op. (aside from deadulus) ive noticed gold league n up are only 20 cards, so each card counts, cant make a deck that counters relinquished and still have enough card space to counter other deck。 i think most of us agree it needs a nerf 100p

Notice how the new pack counter relinquish and will probably be a must for all the people who wanna duel competitively.

lol, wtf? how the hell do you think they're going to nerf it. The description and mechanics of this card have been around since 1998. They're not going to suddenly change how it works. Lol, wtf do you think they're going to do. You need to learn how to play the game. 🔥ing hilaaaaaaaarious

Konami has reprinted cards with changes several times. It's as though you don't even know the game. And that's just the TCG - Duel Links has completely different rules and Relinquished can still be modified. As of now a deck built around Relinquished is completely invincible against the F2P population.

playing against this monster is so not fun, people just abuse it brain deadly. I thought this game is somehow to have your favorite card deck but now it is just meta and strong stuff matters.

If you want to be competitive, your lunchroom theme decks aren't going to work. Like previous poster said, play casual where there's less.

relinquished glitch in auto battle? so my oponent has lord of d. he uses flute and summon red eyes and meteor dragon. during auto battle, on my turn the game summons reliquished and uses relinqushed effect and the spell card riryoku. now if i was playing manually i would have taken over red eyes black dragon and use riryoku on meteor dragon then 🔥 meteor dragon. then i would have a strong monster to 🔥 everyone else on the field. the game instead takes over lord of d and uses riryoku on red eyes and 🔥 red eyes. meteor dragon is still alive with an attack 1800 and i have a weak reliquished with an attack of 1200. is anyone experiencing this too?

Lord of D. prevents dragon-type monsters to be target of any monster effect, which means relinq can only equip lord of d.
