Duel Links Hieratic Dragon deck, Hieratic Dragon in the current meta, how to use.
update 25/06/2022

Hieratic Seal of Reflection

Hieratic Seal of Reflection
Hieratic Seal of Reflection
Counter Trap
Infinite Ray [R]
When a Spell Card, Trap Card, or monster effect is activated: Tribute 1 "Hieratic" monster; negate the activation, and if you do, destroy it.

A strong counter trap to negate the use of most cards. You want to at least end up with 1 Hieratic monster at the end of your turn to stop enemy plays.

When any of your Hieratics get tributed, you can special summon another monster, so this won't leave you defenseless right away.

Other Techs

Monster Gate
Monster Gate
Normal Trap
Paradox Brothers Lvl 35 [SR]
Tribute 1 monster; excavate cards from the top of your Deck until you excavate a monster that can be Normal Summoned/Set. Special Summon it, also send the other excavated cards to the Graveyard.

Monster Gate can turns some Dead Card like Tefnuit and Eset into Su, and also you can bring out an Extra Vanilla Monster from your Hand, Deck or Graveyard, after you tribute Tefnuit and Eset.

Enemy Controller
Enemy Controller
Quick Spell
Seto Kaiba [SR]
Seto Kaiba (DSOD) [SR]
Ranked Rewards [SR]
Activate 1 of these effects.● Target 1 face-up monster your opponent controls; change that target's battle position.● Tribute 1 monster, then target 1 face-up monster your opponent controls; take control of that target until the End Phase.

Enemy Controller is another possible defensive tech. Aside from that, you can also use it to steal the opponent's monster by tributing your Hieratic, simultaneously triggering the Hieratic's effect.

Ballista Squad
Ballista Squad
Normal Trap
Fortress of Gears [UR]
Tribute 1 monster, then target 1 card your opponent controls; destroy it.

This definitely has good synergy with the Hieratic monsters since they want to be tributed, but Seal of Reflection can be considered a stronger version that's more worth the slot.

Other Extra Decks

Phantasmal Lord Ultimitl Bishbaalkin
Phantasmal Lord Ultimitl Bishbaalkin
DARK Dragon
ATK 0 / DEF 0
Soul of Resurrection [R]
(This card's original Level is always treated as 12.)
Cannot be Synchro Summoned. Must be Special Summoned (from your Extra Deck) by sending 2 Level 8 or higher monsters you control with the same Level to the Graveyard (1 Tuner and 1 non-Tuner), and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. Cannot be destroyed by card effects. This card gains 1000 ATK for each monster on the field. Once per turn, during either player's Main Phase: You can Special Summon the same number of "Utchatzimime Tokens" (Fiend-Type/DARK/Level 1/ATK 0/DEF 0) on each player's field in Defense Position, so as to Summon as many as possible, also this card cannot attack for the rest of this turn.

Use Bishbaalkin's second effect at the start of the opponent's Main Phase to flood their field with junk. This prevents some Decks from summoning their low-Level searchers, preventing them from starting combos. When your turn comes, Bishbaalkin should be a 6000 ATK monster but it's hard to take advantage of this because all the Tokens are in defense position.

PSY-Framelord Zeta
PSY-Framelord Zeta
LIGHT Psychic ★7
ATK 2500 / DEF 1800
Future Horizon [R]
1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters
Once per turn, during either player's turn: You can target 1 Special Summoned monster your opponent controls in face-up Attack Position; banish both that monster and this card from the field, but return them in your next Standby Phase. If this card is in your Graveyard: You can target 1 other "PSY-Frame" card in your Graveyard; return this card to the Extra Deck, and if you do, add that target to your hand.

Labradorite Dragon plus Sphere Kuriboh can make Zeta for its removal effect. Zeta's removal effect can be used continually to effectively remove your opponent's monster until you get a proper out to it.

Hieratic Sun Dragon Overlord of Heliopolis
Hieratic Sun Dragon Overlord of Heliopolis
LIGHT Dragon ★8
ATK 3000 / DEF 2500
Infinite Ray [UR]
2 Level 8 monsters
Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; Tribute any number of monsters from your hand and/or your side of the field (minimum 1), then destroy an equal number of cards on the field.

The Hieratic Archetype's biggest boss monster. Heliopolis' mass removal effect is very powerful and, with enough cost, can result in an enemy board wipe. You can then proceed to hit them directly with 3000 ATK. Additionally, by tributing Hieratic monsters you're also getting a lot of field presence by triggering their effects.

Number 61: Volcasaurus
Number 61: Volcasaurus
FIRE Dinosaur ★5
ATK 2500 / DEF 1000
Rage of Volcano [UR]
2 Level 5 monsters
Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 face-up monster your opponent controls; destroy that opponent's monster, and if you do, inflict damage to your opponent equal to the destroyed monster's original ATK. This card cannot attack your opponent directly during the turn you activate this effect.

Volcasaurus has a decent removal effect that can burn the opponent for a significant amount. The restriction doesn't entirely prevent Volcasaurus from attacking, only direct attacking so over it's a very good offensive play.

Number 25: Force Focus
Number 25: Force Focus
LIGHT Machine ★6
ATK 2800 / DEF 2400
Shining Hope [SR]
2 Level 6 monsters
Once per turn, during either player's turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 Level 5 or higher Effect Monster your opponent controls; negate the effects of that opponent's face-up monster, until the end of the turn.

Stat-wise the strongest Extra Deck monster you can make. It's effect is also good for shutting down the effect of enemy boss monsters.

Sword Breaker
Sword Breaker
EARTH Warrior ★4
ATK 2700 / DEF 1000
Shining Hope [R]
2 Level 6 monsters
Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card to declare 1 Monster Type; this card gains the following effect. At the start of the Damage Step, if this card battles a monster of a Type that has been declared: Destroy that monster.

The inherent removal effect is good for dealing with Decks that use a single Monster Type, and the destruction effect against the declared type will last as long as Sword Breaker remains face-up. Even without its effect, Sword Breaker is already a pretty strong beater.

This deck is made to OTK the opponent. You should always try to bring the king of Atum and clear the opponent's field with the effects of the hieratics and make a Synchro or XYZ summon to win.

I use hieratics in my platinum ladder/KOG filler duels (in my hands not yet ready for a leg ladder to KOG). I tested out and discovered witch of the black forest (unfortunately got only 1 copy) to be a great tech for them as it can search any of the three hieratics as seal does. Witch works pretty well with exa beetle first effect, as exa beetle rank up into rhino witch goes to GY. I personally added also blackflare dragon which is searchable to make this a OTK oriented play

Just when this deck saw a bit of light on Rhinocebus onamat abused that card and ruin this this yet again. Konami should have just limit Onamat card like dodododraw and bolt.

At least we kind of have a turn one play now with Exa-Beetle into Rhinosebus
Dave

Matheus is the MVP this month.
He reached KoG using Hieratic with Skill: -

I usually play the traps cause having a good counter and a targeted banish is a get out of jail free card. I also play gebeb and seal to have more fodder for the tribute effects. a big plus is I can get out their rank 8 easy and have tons of stuff to tribute. Often times if I can get out the rank 8 turn 1 I can otk by wiping their whole board. Im only in gold rank though so take my opinion with a grain of salt. usually the turn one play is - summon a heiratic monster like eset, gebeb, or tefnuit, special summon either neb or su and get one seal out, use their tribute effect to snipe a monster or a backrow, and get another seal, get overlord out and wipe the rest of their board if i can, and pray they dont have a sphere kuribo. It works pretty consistantly, and in a pinch you can use the trap cards by tributing a monster like seal or one of the dragons to stop the opponent from doing anything.

Also since I only have one copy of Overlord I run some copies of Sky Prison as an emergency backup if I need a big beatstick and my graveyard is full of monsters, or if my overlord gets killed.

Do you find yourself bricking much? I ended up with a bunch of Hieratic cards while digging for other stuff and thats the biggest hassle for me

I've been testing 2 of the Dragon-specific skills with this deck
Dragonic Rebirth - Resource management, returns a level 5/6 Hieratic to your hand
Dragonic Fusion - Gives you a searchable Dragon's Mirror and a 5K ATK boss monster in FGD
Fusion in particular is really fun since we can't really use the Hieratics in the grave, so why not just give it all up for a giant beatstick

There is lvl 8 hieratic that let u recycle the banished monster, but i forgot the name XD

It could be good with dragonic fusion

is there no rank 8 play version? I know theres only like 3 viable rank 8 monsters, but dragluon would be amazing rn with all the blue eyes decks

Plus, Hieratic's actual boss is Rank 8.

So where's the version that actually use the deck's actual boss?

i think this deck have some potential and it's really fun to play with it. i'm testing different combinations and
i'm includding this cards:
1. to take advantage of XZY summon : Hieratic Seal of the Sun Dragon Overlord is a must be. i combine it to summon Number 68: Sanaphond the Sky Prison or Hieratic Sun Dragon Overlord of Heliopolis
2. my favorite deck version is Synchro Version, i'm adding Star Eater Dragon.
3. I'm testing some adding cards in this deck , like Wingbeat of Giant Dragon or Chaos Dragon Levianeer.
