Hieratic Seal of Reflection | Counter Trap |
Infinite Ray [R] | |
When a Spell Card, Trap Card, or monster effect is activated: Tribute 1 "Hieratic" monster; negate the activation, and if you do, destroy it. |
A strong counter trap to negate the use of most cards. You want to at least end up with 1 Hieratic monster at the end of your turn to stop enemy plays.
When any of your Hieratics get tributed, you can special summon another monster, so this won't leave you defenseless right away.
Monster Gate | Normal Trap |
Paradox Brothers Lvl 35 [SR]
Tribute 1 monster; excavate cards from the top of your Deck until you excavate a monster that can be Normal Summoned/Set. Special Summon it, also send the other excavated cards to the Graveyard. |
Monster Gate can turns some Dead Card like Tefnuit and Eset into Su, and also you can bring out an Extra Vanilla Monster from your Hand, Deck or Graveyard, after you tribute Tefnuit and Eset.
Enemy Controller | Quick Spell |
Seto Kaiba [SR] Seto Kaiba (DSOD) [SR] Ranked Rewards [SR]
Activate 1 of these effects.● Target 1 face-up monster your opponent controls; change that target's battle position.● Tribute 1 monster, then target 1 face-up monster your opponent controls; take control of that target until the End Phase. |
Enemy Controller is another possible defensive tech. Aside from that, you can also use it to steal the opponent's monster by tributing your Hieratic, simultaneously triggering the Hieratic's effect.
Ballista Squad | Normal Trap |
Fortress of Gears [UR] | |
Tribute 1 monster, then target 1 card your opponent controls; destroy it. |
This definitely has good synergy with the Hieratic monsters since they want to be tributed, but Seal of Reflection can be considered a stronger version that's more worth the slot.
Phantasmal Lord Ultimitl Bishbaalkin | DARK Dragon ATK 0 / DEF 0 |
Soul of Resurrection [R]
(This card's original Level is always treated as 12.) Cannot be Synchro Summoned. Must be Special Summoned (from your Extra Deck) by sending 2 Level 8 or higher monsters you control with the same Level to the Graveyard (1 Tuner and 1 non-Tuner), and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. Cannot be destroyed by card effects. This card gains 1000 ATK for each monster on the field. Once per turn, during either player's Main Phase: You can Special Summon the same number of "Utchatzimime Tokens" (Fiend-Type/DARK/Level 1/ATK 0/DEF 0) on each player's field in Defense Position, so as to Summon as many as possible, also this card cannot attack for the rest of this turn. |
Use Bishbaalkin's second effect at the start of the opponent's Main Phase to flood their field with junk. This prevents some Decks from summoning their low-Level searchers, preventing them from starting combos. When your turn comes, Bishbaalkin should be a 6000 ATK monster but it's hard to take advantage of this because all the Tokens are in defense position.
PSY-Framelord Zeta | LIGHT Psychic ★7 ATK 2500 / DEF 1800 |
Future Horizon [R] | |
1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters Once per turn, during either player's turn: You can target 1 Special Summoned monster your opponent controls in face-up Attack Position; banish both that monster and this card from the field, but return them in your next Standby Phase. If this card is in your Graveyard: You can target 1 other "PSY-Frame" card in your Graveyard; return this card to the Extra Deck, and if you do, add that target to your hand. |
Labradorite Dragon plus Sphere Kuriboh can make Zeta for its removal effect. Zeta's removal effect can be used continually to effectively remove your opponent's monster until you get a proper out to it.
Hieratic Sun Dragon Overlord of Heliopolis | LIGHT Dragon ★8 ATK 3000 / DEF 2500 |
Infinite Ray [UR] | |
2 Level 8 monsters Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; Tribute any number of monsters from your hand and/or your side of the field (minimum 1), then destroy an equal number of cards on the field. |
The Hieratic Archetype's biggest boss monster. Heliopolis' mass removal effect is very powerful and, with enough cost, can result in an enemy board wipe. You can then proceed to hit them directly with 3000 ATK. Additionally, by tributing Hieratic monsters you're also getting a lot of field presence by triggering their effects.
Number 61: Volcasaurus | FIRE Dinosaur ★5 ATK 2500 / DEF 1000 |
Rage of Volcano [UR] | |
2 Level 5 monsters Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 face-up monster your opponent controls; destroy that opponent's monster, and if you do, inflict damage to your opponent equal to the destroyed monster's original ATK. This card cannot attack your opponent directly during the turn you activate this effect. |
Volcasaurus has a decent removal effect that can burn the opponent for a significant amount. The restriction doesn't entirely prevent Volcasaurus from attacking, only direct attacking so over it's a very good offensive play.
Number 25: Force Focus | LIGHT Machine ★6 ATK 2800 / DEF 2400 |
Shining Hope [SR] | |
2 Level 6 monsters Once per turn, during either player's turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 Level 5 or higher Effect Monster your opponent controls; negate the effects of that opponent's face-up monster, until the end of the turn. |
Stat-wise the strongest Extra Deck monster you can make. It's effect is also good for shutting down the effect of enemy boss monsters.
Sword Breaker | EARTH Warrior ★4 ATK 2700 / DEF 1000 |
Shining Hope [R] | |
2 Level 6 monsters Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card to declare 1 Monster Type; this card gains the following effect. At the start of the Damage Step, if this card battles a monster of a Type that has been declared: Destroy that monster. |
The inherent removal effect is good for dealing with Decks that use a single Monster Type, and the destruction effect against the declared type will last as long as Sword Breaker remains face-up. Even without its effect, Sword Breaker is already a pretty strong beater.
Noted by Matheus:
You can use one of these skills to further improve the deck: Level Duplication, Dragonic Fusion or Ready for Victory.

This deck is made to OTK the opponent. You should always try to bring the king of Atum and clear the opponent's field with the effects of the hieratics and make a Synchro or XYZ summon to win.
