Overview

Who should buy this deck?

This structure deck focuses on Silent Magician monsters making it an easy way for people to build a Silent Magician deck, without pulling through hundreds of Echoes of Silence packs.
Gold Sarcophagus is a great way to search out any card from your deck and banishing them face-up could give you some cool interactions. Definitely a good addition to any Exodia decks, Mill decks, or any other decks that need that extra search without minding to stall. Also good for decks that can bring back their banished cards, to immediately make use of the search.
The non-LV Silent Magician can be considered both a boost and a counter to Spellbooks. As a Spellcaster-type monster she has a Natural Synergy with Spellbooks, and with Spellbook's ability to keep hand advantage you can always keep her at a decent attack. Conversely, when used against a Spellbook deck she can efficiently stop Spellbook of Fate making the opponent's Spellbook deck much less threatening.

Spellbound Silence [UR]
Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. Must be Special Summoned (from your hand) by Tributing 1 Spellcaster-Type monster, and cannot be Special Summoned by other ways. This card gains 500 ATK for each card in your hand. Once per turn, during either player's turn, when a Spell Card is activated: You can negate the activation. If this card is destroyed by battle, or if this card in its owner's control is destroyed by an opponent's card effect: You can Special Summon 1 "Silent Magician" monster from your hand or Deck, except "Silent Magician", ignoring its Summoning conditions.

We know that they need money, and you can buy anytime anything from Konami if you want. I can do the same too. Thats okay.
But they should let me to buy this pack with gem if i want. If we tolerate this, then later they will sell everything for only money!

The thing is, some of us *won't* spend money unless they do something like this. And they don't *need* money, they *want* money. I'm pretty sure they're already swimming in profits. I'm also sure they won't go as far as selling *everything* with real money. That'd incite a REAL riot and cause many people to leave for real.

Still, I don't think any boycotting will be work. We all know many people have already rushed out and buy 3 of these decks... I'm sure for many people, Konami hasn't crossed the line yet. Maybe in the future.

The problem with this kind of deal is that they are offering a product without caring about its overall quality. Spellbound Silence's Silent Magician combined with Spellbook decks is a powerful deck, and it will be very unbalanced in the next meta, after the new Forbidden/Limited list.
I wouldn't have a problem with spending money in the game if it wasn't so unbalanced...

Give it a month and it'll be limited to 1 copy. I've only bought it twice because I just have the gut feeling it's not going to matter next month anyway

I was so happy when i heard they will add more Silent Magician support to the game. Echoes of Silence was the first box that is opened and SM is always my favorite card. But now i'm very disappointed. I can only get the support if i pay? Thats so bad... Why Konami? Why you do this with me???

Seems like i have to spend real money on it though, and ive already drawn most of the non exclusives id want for gems that i ground for. I dont really feel like the silent magician engine runs well enough competetively to be worth paying cash for. (At least fpr digital copies, also don't get me wrong, if there was a chance to top the world championships id happily put money in, I just feel its a weird choice for a paid deck.

This deck is good against M-Heros I can confirm. I had trouble beating the lvl 8 magician coz of its high attack power. Also able to negate my key spells.

Minors can always ask their parents/guardians. And if you are a minor... you shouldn't obsess with making a *digital* collection, especially if you can't truly own them. Kind of a shame for F2P purists though.

They dont need many f2p players. Look, if the p2w players will have a hard time to beat the f2p then they will become f2p them self or stop playing. Every game needs enough p2w player to survive and we, f2p players need p2w players, to pay for the server cost. So let it slide. Give it to them. Atleast we still have amazoness and other gem purchasable in our disposal.

The underdog
Structure decks are only for money. It's unimportant if you can buy one copy with gems since you need 3 copies. It's bad that you can only buy a strong card like silent magician. Although, it's the only product they sell and you know what you will get, it's not a random sr you most likely don't need.
