I cannot fathom why people forget KONAMI is a business... and in order for businesses to succeed, THEY NEED TO MAKE MONEY. If they did everything for the fans and made no money, they wouldn't gone bankrupt long ago. You may not like it, but that's the way it is.
However, I feel like SOMETIMES it's important to appeal to the fans... KONAMI could've increased the gem cost to 1500 or something, because people will still buy that for some reason.
It's not that I don't believe you. I am just confused about exactly how it works. Like why they decided to make it f2p at all in the beginning. Does the deck mean that they are running out of money because of too many new players? Just how many players is considered too much? Someone please help me figure the specifics out if they can.
I disagree, this game should be totally f2p and we should get 1000 gems everyday. Also I want to have 3 copies of everything but i don't want to spend!!!!!
They don't need a reason to make more money, and no business would ever complain about making more profits. My guess is they're just testing to see how many players are willing to spend money to obtain something exclusive. A business experiment, if you will.
Then again, I'm also pretty sure that they fully intend to do more of this right from the beginning, considering they have already assigned a label to structure decks like this (EX)(meaning they plan to introduce more Structure Deck EX). So maybe it's not an experiment, but merely a business plan, that's all.
It was just so out of the blue that I was surprised. But it sounds like it could be an experiment. Who knows? These might come in a box a year later. XD If it is for a deck I really want to use, then I honestly don't mind paying because it cheap. If I say what decks I really want, Konami might see this. XD
The brainwashings school had the effect...
We know that they need money, and you can buy anytime anything from Konami if you want. I can do the same too. Thats okay.
But they should let me to buy this pack with gem if i want. If we tolerate this, then later they will sell everything for only money!
The thing is, some of us *won't* spend money unless they do something like this. And they don't *need* money, they *want* money. I'm pretty sure they're already swimming in profits. I'm also sure they won't go as far as selling *everything* with real money. That'd incite a REAL riot and cause many people to leave for real.
But feel free to vote with your money (by not spending them). It's your money after all. Feel free to persuade everyone else to boycott too. This is the internet, is it not?
Still, I don't think any boycotting will be work. We all know many people have already rushed out and buy 3 of these decks... I'm sure for many people, Konami hasn't crossed the line yet. Maybe in the future.
The problem with this kind of deal is that they are offering a product without caring about its overall quality. Spellbound Silence's Silent Magician combined with Spellbook decks is a powerful deck, and it will be very unbalanced in the next meta, after the new Forbidden/Limited list.
I wouldn't have a problem with spending money in the game if it wasn't so unbalanced...
