Territory of the Sharks The Level of all WATER monsters you control becomes 4 until the end of the turn. This Skill can only be used once per turn and twice per Duel. This Skill can only be used if you beign the Duel with a Deck/Extra Deck that contains no monsters other than WATER monsters. | Reginald Kastle |
Swarming level-4 monsters to use as material is a requirement for any Rank-4 spam deck. These monsters do just that, while also being level-4 WATER monsters you can use as material.
Tin Goldfish | WATER Machine ★4 ATK 800 / DEF 2000 |
Shark Fang [UR] | |
When this card is Normal Summoned: You can Special Summon 1 Level 4 monster from your hand. |
Normal Summoning Tin Goldfish automatically enables a Rank-4 play. This simple effect enables an Xyz summon without needing prior setup or disrupting further plays, so it's good early game.
Double Fin Shark | WATER Fish ★4 ATK 1000 / DEF 1200 |
Shark Fang [R] | |
When this card is Normal Summoned: You can target 1 Level 3 or 4 WATER Fish-Type monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon that target in face-up Defense Position, but its effects are negated. You cannot Special Summon any monsters during the turn you activate this effect, except WATER monsters. |
Normal Summon Double Fin Shark for a cost-effective Xyz Summon. The Extra Deck restriction won't really bother you that much since you have a bunch of WATER options.
Silent Angler | WATER Fish ★4 ATK 800 / DEF 1400 |
Shark Fang [SR] | |
If you control a WATER monster, you can Special Summon this card (from your hand), but you cannot Special Summon monsters from your hand for the rest of this turn. |
Silent Angler's inherent Special Summoning effect has no cost and an easy requirement, making it an effective field extender. Keep in mind to Special Summon Silent Angler last or it might interfere with other Special Summons such as Shark Stickers.
Mermaid Shark | WATER Fish ★1 ATK 100 / DEF 300 |
Shark Fang [UR] | |
When this card is Normal Summoned: You can add 1 Level 3, 4 or 5 Fish-Type monster from your Deck to your hand. |
Simple yet effective search effect. To immediately make an Xyz play, search Silent Angler. Boost Mermaid Shark's effect with Level Duplication, revealing Silent Angler. Special Summon Silent Angler and make an Xyz monster.
Shark Stickers | WATER Fish ★3 ATK 200 / DEF 1000 |
Reginald Kastle Unlock Event [SR]
When a Fish, Sea Serpent, or Aqua-Type monster is Normal or Special Summoned to your side of the field: You can Special Summon this card from your hand. This card cannot be used as a Synchro Material Monster. |
Shark Stickers is a free field extender you can Special Summon upon Summoning most monsters in this deck. AFter that, use Territory of the Sharks to make Shark Stickers level-4 to be used as Rank-4 material.
A sample combo would go something like this:
Maestroke the Symphony Djinn | DARK Fiend ★4 ATK 1800 / DEF 2300 |
Shark Fang [UR] | |
2 Level 4 monsters Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 face-up Attack Position monster your opponent controls; change it to face-down Defense Position. If a "Djinn" Xyz Monster you control would be destroyed, you can detach 1 Xyz Material from that monster instead. |
Maestroke helps you deal with high-ATK low-DEF enemy monsters. This can also be used to turn off lingering effects and stat boosts. It also has a self-protection effect against all forms of destruction at the cost of an Xyz material.
Kachi Kochi Dragon | EARTH Dragon ★4 ATK 2100 / DEF 1300 |
Tag Duel Tournament [Nov 2020] [UR]
2 Level 4 monsters Once per turn, when this card destroys an opponent's monster by battle and sends it to the Graveyard: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; it can attack once again in a row. |
Multi-attack effects are usually only good on monsters with at least above average ATK. Kachi Kochi Dragon's ATK is relatively low, but because this deck can make multiple Rank-4's you can summon Maestroke alongside it. Maestroke puts the enemy monster face-down for Kachi Kochi Dragon to attack. Then Kachi Kochi Dragon's second attack can hopefully hit directly.
Number 32: Shark Drake | WATER Fish ★4 ATK 2800 / DEF 2100 |
Shark Fang [UR] | |
3 Level 4 monsters Once per turn, when this attacking card destroys an opponent's monster by battle and sends it to the Graveyard: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; Special Summon the destroyed monster to your opponent's side of the field in face-up Attack Position, also it loses 1000 ATK, and if you do Summon this way, this card can make a second attack during this Battle Phase. |
Decent stats with an effect primarily for pushing damage. You first attack a weaker monster your opponent controls then proceed to run over their stronger monster with Shark Drake's debuff effect. However, 3 requiring 3 materials is a kinda costly.
Number 37: Hope Woven Dragon Spider Shark | WATER Fish ★4 ATK 2600 / DEF 2100 |
Shark Fang [UR] | |
2 Level 4 WATER monsters When any player's monster declares an attack: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; all monsters your opponent currently controls lose 1000 ATK until the end of this turn. When this card is destroyed by battle or card effect and sent to the Graveyard: You can target 1 other monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon it. You can only use each effect of "Number 37: Hope Woven Dragon Spider Shark" once per turn. |
Spider Shark is your most powerful Extra Deck monster so you want to get him onboard as early as possible. The first effect is enough to entirely deter the opponent from attacking while Spider Shark is on the field. It also lets you beatdown enemy monsters even though your deck generally has below average ATK.
The floating effect is essentially a Monster Reborn. You can even revive another copy of Spider Shark and other Extra Deck monsters.
Evigishki Merrowgeist | WATER Aqua ★4 ATK 2100 / DEF 1600 |
Shark Fang [R] | |
2 Level 4 monsters After damage calculation, if this card destroys an opponent's monster by battle: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; shuffle the destroyed monster into the Deck instead of sending it to the Graveyard. |
Merrowgeist's effect can be useful to disrupt enemy decks that have a lot of graveyard recursion. But her low ATK makes it difficult for her to actually destroy monsters by battle unless Spider Shark is also on the field.
