Territory of the Sharks
The Level of all WATER monsters you control becomes 4 until the end of the turn. This Skill can only be used once per turn and twice per Duel. This Skill can only be used if you beign the Duel with a Deck/Extra Deck that contains no monsters other than WATER monsters.

How to Play

Swarming

Swarming level-4 monsters to use as material is a requirement for any Rank-4 spam deck. These monsters do just that, while also being level-4 WATER monsters you can use as material.

Tin Goldfish
Tin Goldfish
WATER Machine ★4
ATK 800 / DEF 2000
Shark Fang [UR]
When this card is Normal Summoned: You can Special Summon 1 Level 4 monster from your hand.

Normal Summoning Tin Goldfish automatically enables a Rank-4 play. This simple effect enables an Xyz summon without needing prior setup or disrupting further plays, so it's good early game.

Double Fin Shark
Double Fin Shark
WATER Fish ★4
ATK 1000 / DEF 1200
Shark Fang [R]
When this card is Normal Summoned: You can target 1 Level 3 or 4 WATER Fish-Type monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon that target in face-up Defense Position, but its effects are negated. You cannot Special Summon any monsters during the turn you activate this effect, except WATER monsters.

Normal Summon Double Fin Shark for a cost-effective Xyz Summon. The Extra Deck restriction won't really bother you that much since you have a bunch of WATER options.

Silent Angler
Silent Angler
WATER Fish ★4
ATK 800 / DEF 1400
Shark Fang [SR]
If you control a WATER monster, you can Special Summon this card (from your hand), but you cannot Special Summon monsters from your hand for the rest of this turn.

Silent Angler's inherent Special Summoning effect has no cost and an easy requirement, making it an effective field extender. Keep in mind to Special Summon Silent Angler last or it might interfere with other Special Summons such as Shark Stickers.

Search

Mermaid Shark
Mermaid Shark
WATER Fish ★1
ATK 100 / DEF 300
Shark Fang [UR]
When this card is Normal Summoned: You can add 1 Level 3, 4 or 5 Fish-Type monster from your Deck to your hand.

Simple yet effective search effect. To immediately make an Xyz play, search Silent Angler. Boost Mermaid Shark's effect with Level Duplication, revealing Silent Angler. Special Summon Silent Angler and make an Xyz monster.

Shark Stickers

Shark Stickers
Shark Stickers
WATER Fish ★3
ATK 200 / DEF 1000
Reginald Kastle Unlock Event [SR]
When a Fish, Sea Serpent, or Aqua-Type monster is Normal or Special Summoned to your side of the field: You can Special Summon this card from your hand. This card cannot be used as a Synchro Material Monster.

Shark Stickers is a free field extender you can Special Summon upon Summoning most monsters in this deck. AFter that, use Territory of the Sharks to make Shark Stickers level-4 to be used as Rank-4 material.

A sample combo would go something like this:

  1. Normal Summon Double Fin Shark and revive anything except Tin Goldfish.
  2. Special Summon Shark Stickers.
  3. Make a Rank-4 monster.
  4. Use Territory of the Sharks.
  5. Special Summon Silent Angler then make another Rank-4.

Extra Decks

Maestroke the Symphony Djinn
Maestroke the Symphony Djinn
DARK Fiend ★4
ATK 1800 / DEF 2300
Shark Fang [UR]
2 Level 4 monsters
Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 face-up Attack Position monster your opponent controls; change it to face-down Defense Position. If a "Djinn" Xyz Monster you control would be destroyed, you can detach 1 Xyz Material from that monster instead.

Maestroke helps you deal with high-ATK low-DEF enemy monsters. This can also be used to turn off lingering effects and stat boosts. It also has a self-protection effect against all forms of destruction at the cost of an Xyz material.

Kachi Kochi Dragon
Kachi Kochi Dragon
EARTH Dragon ★4
ATK 2100 / DEF 1300
Tag Duel Tournament [Nov 2020] [UR]
2 Level 4 monsters
Once per turn, when this card destroys an opponent's monster by battle and sends it to the Graveyard: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; it can attack once again in a row.

Multi-attack effects are usually only good on monsters with at least above average ATK. Kachi Kochi Dragon's ATK is relatively low, but because this deck can make multiple Rank-4's you can summon Maestroke alongside it. Maestroke puts the enemy monster face-down for Kachi Kochi Dragon to attack. Then Kachi Kochi Dragon's second attack can hopefully hit directly.

Number 32: Shark Drake
Number 32: Shark Drake
WATER Fish ★4
ATK 2800 / DEF 2100
Shark Fang [UR]
3 Level 4 monsters
Once per turn, when this attacking card destroys an opponent's monster by battle and sends it to the Graveyard: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; Special Summon the destroyed monster to your opponent's side of the field in face-up Attack Position, also it loses 1000 ATK, and if you do Summon this way, this card can make a second attack during this Battle Phase.

Decent stats with an effect primarily for pushing damage. You first attack a weaker monster your opponent controls then proceed to run over their stronger monster with Shark Drake's debuff effect. However, 3 requiring 3 materials is a kinda costly.

Number 37: Hope Woven Dragon Spider Shark
Number 37: Hope Woven Dragon Spider Shark
WATER Fish ★4
ATK 2600 / DEF 2100
Shark Fang [UR]
2 Level 4 WATER monsters
When any player's monster declares an attack: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; all monsters your opponent currently controls lose 1000 ATK until the end of this turn. When this card is destroyed by battle or card effect and sent to the Graveyard: You can target 1 other monster in your Graveyard; Special Summon it. You can only use each effect of "Number 37: Hope Woven Dragon Spider Shark" once per turn.

Spider Shark is your most powerful Extra Deck monster so you want to get him onboard as early as possible. The first effect is enough to entirely deter the opponent from attacking while Spider Shark is on the field. It also lets you beatdown enemy monsters even though your deck generally has below average ATK.

The floating effect is essentially a Monster Reborn. You can even revive another copy of Spider Shark and other Extra Deck monsters.

Evigishki Merrowgeist
Evigishki Merrowgeist
WATER Aqua ★4
ATK 2100 / DEF 1600
Shark Fang [R]
2 Level 4 monsters
After damage calculation, if this card destroys an opponent's monster by battle: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; shuffle the destroyed monster into the Deck instead of sending it to the Graveyard.

Merrowgeist's effect can be useful to disrupt enemy decks that have a lot of graveyard recursion. But her low ATK makes it difficult for her to actually destroy monsters by battle unless Spider Shark is also on the field.

VICTORIA
There's a problem about N32 Shark Drake, when it destroys a monster by battle, sometimes it can't activate it's effect, even if the opponent doesn't activates any effect or the card doesn't say that it can't be summoned by special summon, until that problem gets solved, that monster sucks, because you don't know what monsters won't be affected, It happened to me a lot of times, I've lost some Duels because of that.

I know what you mean, but is not that, but it's solved now, I had that problem using the White Stingray + 4lvl Water monster+ Silent Angler combo, and I was dueling against Ojama and a few other decks to test it, but not anymore.

Yes. I was noticing this

I had one time where that happened too. The effect just doesn't activate for whatever reason, and no, I'm not using Double Fin or Saber Shark's effect.

And the monster I destroyed was a vanilla.

I have this slightest feeling that it's probably Silent Angler being bugged, but in other times I used Silent Angler's effect, Shark Drake's effect does activate, so I don't know anymore.

A nice from me after the duel for any of my opponent who uses this. You deserve a praise more than any of the Karakuri, Crystron, Shiranui, Witchcrafter....

I hope that this deck will be in the meta 1 day replacing those existing decks.

Proband Reply
if the current decks (karakuri, shiranui, invoked etc) get hit and stronger rank 3 and 4 XYZ monsters come out i think this deck might actually play a role in the meta

Very expensive deck. so many UR and SR to build this deck, any budget deck or at least give us something fun to play like samurai or luna or aquaactress ... this box has nothing for F2P.?
<< Anonymous
Anonymous Reply
Those UR and SR spell/traps are all staple that can be used in every other decks in the future. Worth getting them for sure.
Anonymous
Solid meta?

Congratulations for getting a prismatic!

Shark deck still has a potential to become meta in the future considering how many good cards Reginald/Ryoga got in anime/OCG/TCG.
<< Anonymous
Anonymous Reply
^Unfortunately, it won't be meta. Shark's cards' anime effects are almost always different than their TCG effects, hence why no one used them competitively IRL.
<< Anonymous
Gawr Gura Reply
Maybe not meta, but fun. That's the point, you play for fun

I only see 2 sharks here, its not shark deck. I think about using saber shark or spear shark but well N and R cards its not that much used in current deck

There are 4 different Sharks in the example deck. 2 main, 2 xtra.

Besides, Invoked deck for Example, now usually run only 2 Invoked monsters Cocytus & Purgatrio (Aleister is not Invoked monster). Yet we still call it Invoked deck although it has way more traps than the archetype-name deck.

Maybe we should call deck like these Staple Trap deck instead.

I'm talk about main deck not extra deck. Sure Shark deck must have Number 32: Shark Drake and Number 37: Spider Shark

I don't get how Mermaid Shark is used? Isn't it a liability?
<< Anonymous
Anonymous Reply
What do you mean? The whole purpose of that is to search Silent Angler.
<< Anonymous
Anonymous Reply
Mermaid Shark is to be used with "Territory of Shark" Skill.
Making it a 1 card No 37 or a 2 card No 32.

I guess the page wasn't fully updated yet with the Skill information.

But yeah, without the skill, Mermaid Shark is a very poor card actually.
- Use up normal summon to search
- Its level not matching with the searched monster
- 100 ATK is way too low to be played by itself.

Territory of the Sharks can only be activated if every monster in the deck/extra deck are water attribute. So this build is already flawed.
<< Anonymous
Anonymous Reply
It is using level duplication, frankly territory of shark is better, the non water xyz monsters in the deck are prescindible

VICTORIA
I use White Stingray in this deck, I can summon N.32 in my 1st turn with Double Fin Shark effect.
