This card is pretty dumb to me, I have three and thought it would work great. It says "The selected Spell or Trap Cards cannot be activated." Which is a lie because righ after I selected two set cards they activated on. Which is beyond dumb. IDC if they are quick play chain or not. It states they can not be activated and literally right after you activate this card they can activate theirs. This card should say activate this card to select two set spell/trap cards your opponent controls. Your opponent must activate them now or will not be able to activate them. Because that's what it really does.
Chains work bottom up so your card activates last in the chain,Even though you activated it first...
Counter traps like "counter counter" or "double snear" will stop that them chaining or even bait out there chain.
Almost no card can chain after a counter trap
Unless the card says something like "If the card leaves the field, destroy this card", it's going to stay. Then you'll have a dead S/T zone that you'll need to clear with Twister or the like to use. Just like if you Tribute a monster Summoned by Powerful Rebirth.
So I'm using this card against Arkana to block him from using his Dark Renewal on my final pirhanna summon (vs. lvl40), or using his Spell Shield when I try de-spell or Twister against his Ectoplasmer (vs. lvl30).
And I noticed a super interesting glitch -- Sometimes when playing this card, it actually shows me what his face down cards are !
It seems to only happen when I've already seen him play a card that he has multiple copies of. For example see this screenshot, I used a de-spell on his Anti-Magic Arrows, then several turns later use Xing to lock down 2/3 of his remaining face-down cards, and it SHOWS me that he put another Anti-Magic Arrows down, making it easy for me to just pick his other two cards. trolololol.
That's not a bad thing...Anon seemingly talking in place of Andrew, especially if you only have 1 Ceasefire(possible last card dilemma) or no cards you can sac for the Discard. I always have 2; 1st catches whatever 2 cards it can immediately, 2nd locks the 3rd while relocking another. Oh yeah, you can overlap the locks.
If they only have one facedown by the end, then that means you have extra card(s) in your hand.
Dish out your combo.
Set one of your throw away cards for Xing to lockdown.
No harm, just Pr0fit~
You need to be rather careful when using this trap.
The requirement is that you must select 2 set spell/trap cards. It doesn't specify only your opponent's.
So what can happen (if you're not careful) is that if you activate it when your opponent only sets 1, this trap card will force you to select one of your own set spell/trap, effectively locking yourself down as well. Locking down 2 of your opponent's set spell/trap can be rather tricky if your opponent uses them often, before you can wait for them to set 2.
