“Morphtronic” is an archetype of mostly Machine-Type monsters that gain different effects depending on their Battle Position; these monsters are low in Level and usually have low ATK and DEF, but they make up for this with various effects that can increase their stats (Morphtronic Radion) or Special Summon other monsters of their own archetype (Morphtronic Scopen), making it quite easy to Synchro Summon with them.
The deck you will find here centers around Power Tool Dragon, a Level 7 Synchro, but it’s entirely possible to take a different approach and focus solely on “Morphtronic” monsters.

The Tie that Binds Until the end of you turn, the ATK of all face-up monsters on your field increases by the number of monsters on your field times 100. This skill can only be used once per turn. | Common |
Morphtronic Scopen | LIGHT Machine ★3 ATK 800 / DEF 1400 |
Power of Bravery [SR] | |
● While in Attack Position: Once per turn, you can Special Summon 1 Level 4 "Morphtronic" monster from your hand. Destroy it during the End Phase. ● While in Defense Position: While this card is in face-up Defense Position, it is Level 4. |
Scopen is a great Synchro enabler due to being a Tuner that can Special Summon a non-Tuner. For the purpose of this Deck only the attack position effect is usually used. Usually you summon Scopen then Special Summon a Level-4 monster then immediately go into a Level-7 Synchro.
Morphtronic Celfon | EARTH Machine ★1 ATK 100 / DEF 100 |
Power of Bravery [SR] | |
● While in Attack Position: Once per turn, you can roll a six-sided die. Reveal cards from top of your Deck equal to the roll and Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower "Morphtronic" monster from among them, ignoring the Summoning conditions. Shuffle the rest into the Deck.● While in Defense Position: Once per turn, you can roll a six-sided die. Look at cards from top of your Deck equal to the roll, then return them in the same order. |
Like Scopen, the most important aspect of Celfon is its attack position effect which also has something to do with getting monsters on the board. Best case, you get to Special Summon Scopen and it Special Summons another monster so you can make a Level-7 or 8 Synchro. You can also just use Celfon and Scopen to make your Synchro. Another monster that's a good Special Summon target is Slingen. Special Summon Slingen and tribute Celfon for instant removal.
Morphtronic Boomboxen | EARTH Machine ATK 1200 / DEF 400 |
The King of Vermillion [R]
● While in Attack Position, this card can attack twice during each Battle Phase. ● Once per turn, while in Defense Position, when a face-up "Morphtronic" monster you control is targeted for an attack: You can negate the attack. |
Boomboxen is a good non-Tuner pair to Scopen due to being a Level-4 Morphtronic. Aside from that Boomboxen can also deal some good damage with its double attack effect, especially when equipped with Power of the Guardians.
Morphtronic Slingen | WIND Machine ★4 ATK 1200 / DEF 800 |
Power of Bravery [R] | |
● While in Attack Position: Once per turn, you can Tribute 1 "Morphtronic" monster, except "Morphtronic Slingen", to destroy 1 card on the field.● While in Defense Position: If this card would be destroyed, you can destroy another "Morphtronic" monster you control instead. |
Morphtronic Slingen’s Attack Position effect allows you to destroy a card on the field by Tributing a “Morphtronic” monster; you can’t Tribute “Morphtronic Slingen” in order to activate this effect and it can be difficult to keep Slingen on the board long enough for multiple activations, but at least it can destroy any type of card on the field.
Morphtronic Accelerator | Normal Spell |
Power of Bravery [SR] | |
Return 1 "Morphtronic" monster from your hand to the Deck. Destroy 1 card on the field, and draw 1 card. |
Decent single-target removal. What differentiates Accelerator from other similar removal effects is its ability to partly refresh your hand. Returning a Morphtronic monster to draw a card gives you more chances to draw into Celfon and Scopen.
Power of the Guardians | Equip Spell |
Dimension of the Wizards [N] Master of Chaos [N]
If an attack is declared involving the equipped monster: Place 1 Spell Counter on this card. The equipped monster gains 500 ATK/DEF for each Spell Counter on this card. If the equipped monster would be destroyed by battle or card effect, you can remove 1 Spell Counter from your field, instead. |
Power of the Guardians is one of the best Equip Spells, providing both offense and defense. For monsters like Boomboxen that can attack multiple times, they can gain counters much quicker for higher ATK and be protected by more counters.
Power of the Guardians can be fetched by Power Tool Dragon.
Black Rose Dragon | FIRE Dragon ★7 ATK 2400 / DEF 1800 |
Blazing Rose [UR] | |
1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters When this card is Synchro Summoned: You can destroy all cards on the field. Once per turn: You can banish 1 Plant-Type monster from your Graveyard, then target 1 Defense Position monster your opponent controls; change that target to face-up Attack Position, and if you do, its ATK becomes 0 until the end of this turn. |
Black Rose Dragon is one of the most common Level-7 Synchro toolboxes. Summon it to clear the board, including the opponent's entire setup. A Power Tool Dragon protected by Power of the Guardians won't be destroyed, so you can use this as an opportunity to OTK the opponent.
Power Tool Dragon | EARTH Machine ★7 ATK 2300 / DEF 2500 |
Power of Bravery [UR] | |
1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters Once per turn: You can reveal 3 Equip Spell Cards from your Deck, then your opponent randomly adds 1 of them to your hand, and you shuffle the rest back into your Deck. If this card would be destroyed while equipped with an Equip Spell Card(s), you can send 1 of those cards to the Graveyard instead. |
Power Tool Dragon is a respectable generic Level 7 Synchro and it’s the monster you are going to Special Summon from the Extra Deck most of the times.
Power Tool Dragon can effectively fetch any Equip Spell, but with some element of randomness. You can mitigate the element of randomness by selecting three copies of Power of the Guardians so that at least one of them will go to your hand. And because Power of the Guardians is our primary Equip Spell in this Deck, Power Tool Dragon won't usually need to use his own protection effect.
Vylon Epsilon | LIGHT Fairy ★8 ATK 2800 / DEF 1200 |
Power of Bravery [SR] | |
1 LIGHT Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monstersEquip Cards equipped to this card cannot be targeted by cards or effects. Once per turn: You can send 1 Equip Card equipped to this card to the Graveyard to target 1 monster your opponent controls; destroy that target. |
Vylon Epsilon prevents Equip Spell Cards equipped to it from being targeted by opponent’s cards or effects and, once per turn, allows you to destroy a monster your opponent controls by sending an Equip Card equipped to it to the Graveyard.
Epsilon has higher ATK than Stardust Dragon and, since it’s also not a Dragon-Type monster, it can help in the Buster Blader matchup with its removal effect.
Power Tool Mecha Dragon | DARK Machine ★7 ATK 2300 / DEF 2500 |
Masters of Shadow [SR] | |
1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters During your turn, when an Equip Spell Card(s) is equipped to this card: You can draw 1 card. You can only use this effect of "Power Tool Mecha Dragon" once per turn. Once per turn, during either player's turn: You can target 1 appropriate face-up Equip Card on the field; equip that target to this card. |
The free draw mitigates the cost of making Power Tool Mecha Dragon. However, the disadvantage of making Power Tool Mecha Dragon over Power Tool Dragon is that it is unable to fetch its Equips. What you can do is to first make Power Tool Dragon as a way to fetch Power of the Guardians, then later on make Power Tool Mecha Dragon and pass the Equip Spell to it.
Old Entity Cthugua | FIRE Pyro ★4 ATK 2200 / DEF 200 |
The King of Vermillion [SR]
1 Tuner + 1+ non-Tuner monsters If this card is Synchro Summoned: You can return all Rank 4 Xyz Monsters on the field to the Extra Deck. If you Fusion Summon using this card as Fusion Material: Draw 1 card. An Xyz Monster that was Summoned using this card on the field as Xyz Material gains this effect. ● If it is Xyz Summoned: Draw 1 card. |
Rank-4 Xyz are the most common type and Cthugua was made specifically to counter them. Returning all Rank-4s to the Extra Deck can be quite devastating against Decks that focus on this type of monster. Then you can proceed to make your own Rank-4 with Cthugua as material for that free draw effect.
Armory Arm | LIGHT Machine ★4 ATK 1800 / DEF 1200 |
The King of Vermillion [SR]
1 Tuner + 1 or more non-Tuner monsters Once per turn, you can either: Target 1 monster on the field; equip this card to that target, OR: Unequip this card and Special Summon it in Attack Position. While equipped by this effect, that target gains 1000 ATK. If that target destroys a monster by battle and sends it to the Graveyard: Inflict damage to your opponent equal to the ATK of the destroyed monster in the Graveyard. |
Armory Arm is a more general purpose Rank-4 you can make. The equip effect is inline with the Deck's playstyle and the burn effect is a great way to deal a ton of damage.
This pairs really well with Boomboxen because the 1000 ATK boost is really useful with Boomboxen's double attack effect. And the possibility of destroying two enemy monsters means you might be able to OTK through enemy monsters.
Number 70: Malevolent Sin | DARK Insect ★4 ATK 2400 / DEF 1200 |
Photons of Galaxy [SR] | |
2 Level 4 monsters Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 monster your opponent controls; banish it until your opponent's next Standby Phase. At the end of the Damage Step, if this card attacked: You can make this card gain 300 ATK, and if you do, increase its Rank by 3. |
Malevolent Sin is an anti-Xyz tech. Summon Malevolent Sin and use its effect to temporarily banish an enemy Xyz monster. The Xyz monster will return with no materials attached to it.

Equipment Restock Can be used when you have 3 or more Equip Spell cards in the Graveyard. 1 random Equip Spell in your Graveyard is added to your hand. Then, shuffle other Equip Spells in your Graveyard into your Deck. This skill can only be used once per Duel. | Leo |
Very similar to Endless Trap Hell, it can prevent you from decking out and it has synergy with both of Power Tool Dragon’s effects.
