  • Morphtronic Decklist and Notes Updated

“Morphtronic” is an archetype of mostly Machine-Type monsters that gain different effects depending on their Battle Position; these monsters are low in Level and usually have low ATK and DEF, but they make up for this with various effects that can increase their stats (Morphtronic Radion) or Special Summon other monsters of their own archetype (Morphtronic Scopen), making it quite easy to Synchro Summon with them.

The deck you will find here centers around Power Tool Dragon, a Level 7 Synchro, but it’s entirely possible to take a different approach and focus solely on “Morphtronic” monsters.

Set Skill

[Skill] descriptionUser
Equipment Restock
Can be used when you have 3 or more Equip Spell cards in the Graveyard. 1 random Equip Spell in your Graveyard is added to your hand. Then, shuffle other Equip Spells in your Graveyard into your Deck. This skill can only be used once per Duel.

How to Use

Special Summoning

While in Attack Position, Morphtronic Scopen allows you to Special Summon a Level 4 “Morphtronic” monster from your hand; the Special Summoned monster will be destroyed during the End Phase, but that hardly matters since you are just going to use it to Synchro Summon Power Tool Dragon.

Scopen can essentially Special Summon Morphtronic Videon or Morphtronic Slingen from your hand with its effect; there is another Level 4 “Morphtronic” monster that you could run (Morphtronic Radion), but it’s unfortunately not a Machine-Type monster, so you can’t equip it with Gravity Blaster.

Scopen’s Defense Position effect turns it into a Level 4 monster, you are generally never going to use this effect, but it’s still worth pointing out as it’s technically an alternative way to get one of the two Level 8 Synchros in the Extra Deck out without having to use three monsters or Powerful Rebirth’s Level increasing effect.

Morphtronic Celfon, while in Attack Position, allows you to roll a six-sided die, reveal a number of cards from the top of your Deck equal to the roll and then Special Summon a Level 4 or lower “Morphtronic” monster among those cards ignoring its summoning conditions; so far the “ignoring its summoning conditions” part is only relevant if you decide to run the Level 1 Morphtronic Smartfon as it is the only monster in the archetype that has some form of restrictions on how it has to be Summoned.

You can use Morphtronic Accelerator before activating Morphtronic Celfon’s effect to increase the chance of finding a “Morphtronic” monster among the cards revealed. You can completely disregard Celfon’s Defense Position effect as it does literally nothing.

Powerful Rebirth makes it easier to Synchro Summon and it gives you easy access to Level 8 Synchros by increasing the Level of the monster it Special Summons from the Graveyard by 1.

Morphtronic Slingen’s Attack Position effect allows you to destroy a card on the field by Tributing a “Morphtronic” monster; you can’t Tribute “Morphtronic Slingen” in order to activate this effect, but at least it can destroy any type of card on the field, unlike Hand of the Six Samurai’s.

Treacherous Trap Hole is here to deal with Buster Blader, the Dragon Destroyer Swordsman and DNA Surgery; it’s generally a great card to have in any deck, but without it this deck would lose to this certain combination of cards.

Equip Spells

Gravity Blaster can only be equipped to a Machine-Type monster, it allows you to increase its ATK by 400 every turn and, if the equipped monster battles an opponent’s monster, it negates its effect during the Battle Phase only.

Gravity Blaster can prevent the activation of Flip Effects and it also allows you to destroy by battle Yubel, Yubel - Terror Incarnate and Yubel - The Ultimate Nightmare without triggering the effects of the first two.

Mage Power has some synergy with Powerful Rebirth as the Continuous Trap stays on the field even if the monster it Special Summoned is sent to the Graveyard or is banished; this Equip Spell is solely used for the large ATK increase it offers and can be easily substituted by any other card with a similar effect.

The Extra Decks

Power Tool Dragon is a respectable generic Level 7 Synchro and it’s the monster you are going to Special Summon from the Extra Deck most of the times.

Once per turn, Power Tool Dragon allows you to reveal 3 Equip Spell Cards from your Deck and then make your opponent select a random one to add to your hand. As long as Power Tool Dragon is equipped with at least an Equip Spell Card, you can send one to the Graveyard to prevent the monster from being destroyed by battle or card effect; with Amazoness being so heavily weakened, Spellbook of Fate is the only card that you should worry about.

You can Special Summon Power Tool Dragon using Morphtronic Scopen and Morphtronic Videon/Morphtronic Slingen.

Stardust Dragon can prevent destruction effect by Tributing itself; the monster is then Special Summoned during the End Phase of the turn in which the effect was activated.

You can Special Summon Stardust Dragon using Morphtronic Scopen, Morphtronic Videon / Morphtronic Slingen and Morphtronic Celfon or just Morphtronic Scopen and Morphtronic Videon/Morphtronic Slingen if Scopen is in Defense Position or one of the two monsters used has been Special Summoned with Powerful Rebirth.

Vylon Epsilon prevents Equip Spell Cards equipped to it from being targeted by opponent’s cards or effects and, once per turn, allows you to destroy a monster your opponent controls by sending an Equip Card equipped to it to the Graveyard.

Epsilon has higher ATK than Stardust Dragon and, since it’s also not a Dragon-Type monster, it can help in the Buster Blader matchup with its removal effect.

Additional Notes

[Skill] descriptionUser
Equipment Restock
Can be used when you have 3 or more Equip Spell cards in the Graveyard. 1 random Equip Spell in your Graveyard is added to your hand. Then, shuffle other Equip Spells in your Graveyard into your Deck. This skill can only be used once per Duel.

Very similar to Endless Trap Hell, it can prevent you from decking out and it has synergy with both of Power Tool Dragon’s effects.

[Skill] descriptionUser
Spell Recycle: Equipment
Can be used when you control "Power Tool Dragon". Place 1 Equip Spell in your graveyard to the bottom of your deck. This skill can be used once per turn.

Another Skill that has synergy with Power Tool Dragon’s effect: if there aren’t at least three Equip Spell Cards in your Deck, you can’t search.

  • It looks like the deck may struggle against Silent Spellbook because of the fact that Spellbook of Fate can get around Power Tool Dragon’s protection.

  • Treacherous Trap Hole can easily prevent you from Synchro Summoning.

  • The deck can’t interact with the opponent during their turn; Treacherous Trap Hole is the only card used for protection, but lowering the amount of monsters to add Wall of Disruption may also lower the consistency of the deck.

  • The deck has trouble dealing with the new Buster Blader and it’s not as consistent as Vampire or Blue-Eyes, it may struggle in the current meta.

I want boomboxen and boardon so I can use it with raidon then I can play some morphtronic beat(defeat) to the morphtronic beat

(for contex boomboxen attack’s twice with 1200 atk with raidon which gives a 800 atk bonus it can attack twice with 2000 atk then finally boardon allows for direct attacks meaning 4000 damage allowing for a otk)

Hence probably why they haven’t added it lol

When I finally get my play sets of them all I'm gonna try some non traditional builds. The power tool build is obviously the traditional build but I feel there is a control build potentially available.

Possibly, or go the otk route by stacking Radion, Boomboxen and the equips for big damage output

1 guestion, who has done KOG with morphetronics???
I think that would almost been impossible, and it requires super luck in late season if even possible!
JC Nut 17days ago
Gravity Blaster really shines in this deck. I've seen at least 3 KOG decks listed, I think the tier list should be updated and give morphtronics a tier 3 status.

Is there a reason no C&D?

I don't really understand how it's not a better gravity blaster.

C&D only power up your monster DURING YOUR OWN TURN.
Furthermore, it only negate effects when THE EQUIPPED MONSTER ATTACKS.

Gravity Blaster's ATK gain and effect negation applies even during opponent's Battle Phase when the opponent is the one making an attack.

This. Those people who think C&D is better, clearly don't read the card properly.

Heck, even Axe of Despair is better than C&D if all you need is a generic ATK booster.

What about the opponent's turn effect on C&D? It works like an amazoness heirloom effect that forces targeting. Or I think it would but doesn't? I'm not sure if it's a bug but I've never seen it work when the Leo BOX uses it. Can anyone confirm?

It does force targeting, but the destruction effect is like Ancient Gear Fist, in that it still has to be on the field after the damage step.
Felgrand 23days ago
I've seen Gravity Blaster kickin' so much ass in this deck, if used properly it can deal a lot of damage and can beat some meta decks easily.

Just saw a YT vid about Morphtronic and it's actually pretty decent against the current meta =0 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Morphtronic is surprisingly very good !

I managed to get 3 Junk Boxes from the sale, but of course it's not part of the example deck. :(

Anonymous 23days ago Reply
.....that's the thing, it's just an example. You can modify it a bit if you want to, try changing it up a bit with 2 copies of Junk Box and see if it works for you.

I personally want to try to go with just 1 Slingen, replacing the other 2 copies with Radion instead, and replace 1 Mage Power 1 Gravity Blaster with other cards, maybe backrow removal.

Other players also mentioned Morphtronic Accelerator, which is a good card too.

Why Axe of Despair though? Mage power are better

No one would want to squint on a small image you idiot, this is better.

Also this is literally just a little of text. If you think no one will read this then maybe you're too lazy to be alive.
Anonymous 23days ago
Who the hell made this deck recipe? It sucks
Anonymous 25days ago
This is not a good build. Accelerator is a great card, C and D is quicker than gravity blaster.

so true

A decent Tier 3

I've found using Junk Box as a 1 of tech opens a lot of options for the deck. My list is the same as the provided, except Treacherous is Junk Box
