Chow Len the Prophet | Decks and Tips

Once per turn: You can declare either Spell or Trap, then target 1 Set card in your opponent's Spell & Trap Card Zone; look at that target, and if it is the declared card type, that card cannot be activated this turn.

• Effect is usable once per turn.
• Good ATK stats.
• Can prevent opponents from activating Spell/Trap cards for that turn, and potentially clogging their backrow.
• Spell/Traps that are selected by this monster cannot be activated in response to its effect.

• Weak DEF stats.
• Opponent’s set card must match the declaration type, either Spell or Trap.

• This card is able to effectively counter Floodgate Trap Hole, by activating its effect during your Main Phase to diffuse opponent’s Floodgate Trap Hole first, then you can summon your monsters safely. This method works provided that -
  Chow Len the Prophet was summoned before your opponent sets their Floodgate Trap Hole.
• When you are ready to attack, this card can even diffuse opponent’s protection cards that can potentially jeopardize your attack.

These cards are amongst the most dangerous Traps in the current meta, and this monster is able to prevent them from activating for that turn, and potentially following turns as well.

Since Chow Len the Prophet can be placed on Attack mode, these cards can help protect him from being destroyed by your opponent’s monsters. Draining Shield is also a good utility to maintain your Life Points required to use Mind Scan skill.

In the event that your opponent has set multiple cards on their backrow, you can use Sergeant Electro to pin down the other cards that are not declared by Chow Len the Prophet. Similarly, Xing Zhen Hu can be used to pin down 2 other set cards that are not declared by Chow Len the Prophet.
