Monster Zone Lock

Ojama Knight

You can possibly lock your opponent's monster zone if he/she has no tribute monsters. Use Floodgate Trap Hole when your opponent Summons a Monster. Then disable the 2 remaining zones by using Ojama Knight's effect. You can then wait to get the cards that you needed or burn your opponent.

Rulings

The text "monster(s)" on Floodgate Trap Hole means that it can affect multiple cards. See these screenshots below for example.

The opponent used The Flute of Summoning Dragon to Special Summon 2 Blue-Eyes White Dragon on the field. Then the Floodgate Trap Hole prompt pops up.

Floodgate Trap Hole is Activated.

Both of the Blue-Eyes White Dragon has been switched to face-down defense position.

Can someone tell me why fgth is not working against yubel or his special summoned minion? I see nothing in the txt to stop it otherwise.

You can't use Floodgate Trap Hole in response to an effect activation that would summon a monster. The summon has to be an inherent summon, which you can read about more here: http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Special_Summon

I'm fairly convinced I'd used Floodgate on all forms of Yubel many times over the past few weeks.

There was a time when FGT was unwanted too against the Aromage meta. All this complaining is useless. Just wait for the meta to shift.

3 x Floodgate and 3 × Canadia in an Endless Trap Hole Amazon Deck is nigh impossible to defeat. You can't even rely on Trunade because they will just flip over Onslaught and stop your OTK in most cases.

(Floodgate Trap Hole) and Paleo Canadia are the only reason why Amazoness decks are unstoppable!

Although their trap (Amazoness Onslaught) is so powerful, it can be countered. Yet, these two traps are making the task almost impossible, making other decks weak.

They must be limited so that the balance of the game is restored.
Floodgate Trap Hole is just as strong as enemy controller.

All Amazoness Players have to do is use Floodgate trap Hole, thus flipping the opponent’s card and making it useless and ready for banishing.

Amazoness decks wouldn’t be too powerful if not for (Floodgate Trap Hole) and (Paleo Canadia)! They ready monsters for banishing! It is not fair.

They make their opponents defenseless against their (Amazoness Onslaught)

I lost from a hybrid Ancient Gear build though. I think Floodgate appears strong because the meta decks nowadays isn't centered towards trap destruction. With the right shift, FGT will wane and weaken it time, just like no one almost uses Floodgate during Sylvans/Bamboo era, but only counter cards respectively.

This card is annoying when your opponent has 3 + endless trap. Then they pretty much make your board unusable, I’ve had situations where my all my monsters where trapped face down and my autistic opponent just sat there till I decked out, that’s no way to play the game.

What is a reasonable counter to this card. This card is overused and in about 95% of all decks I face in KOG rank. They all seem to have 2 if not 3 copies and its getting a bit out of hand. Most of my game are lost due to floodgate over and over and over.

Use nobleman of extermination or Xing Zhen Hu to lock down 2 back row cards.

If you destroyed Kidmodo by battle, then it is still the damage step, where the only cards that can be activated are ones that change the ATK or DEF of monsters. Floodgate doesn't.

Both is good in their own aspect.

Canadia is flexible whereas Floodgate is good at locking opponent.
