Pros

  • Able to destroy any card on the field, if your dice roll is not 1 or 6.
  • Effect can be used continuously as long as you have cards to discard as cost.

Cons

  • Weak ATK and DEF stats.
  • Need to discard cards as cost to use effect.

Tips

Resources for Discard

Here are some cards you can discard as cost for the effect of Snipe Hunter.

  • When discarded, The Fabled Ganashia revives himself with an additional 200 attack.
  • Sinister Serpent can be retrieved from the graveyard during each of your standby phases, but keep in mind if he is sent to the graveyard the turn he was retrieved he will be banished during your opponent's end phase.
  • Discard Gusto Griffin to special summon another Gusto monster from your deck. A good target for this is Caam, Serenity of Gusto because she is able to recycle Gusto Griffin back into the deck for Reuse and also draw a card to replenish your hand.
  • Volcanic Shell, while in the graveyard, can search another copy of himself from the deck. This allows you to effectively replenish your hand and lets you activate the effect of Snipe hunter up to 3 times for the cost of 1 card in your hand while also thinning your deck.
  • You can discard Thunder Dragon to the Graveyard, draw 2 more Thunder Dragons to your Hand, and use as cost for Sniper Hunter.

Dice Support

You can use this trap card to get another chance at rolling dice.

Tips

  • This card’s discarding effect is treated as a cost to use its effect, therefore it does not support Dark World archetypes.
  • This card also support decks that requires discard, like Dark Necrofear, in order to utilize their effects from the graveyard.

I really don't understand why Konami hasn't yet limited (to 1 copy) or banned this card. Common, 4 out of 6 chances (66%) of being able to destroy any card on the field (monster, magic, trap) by simply discarding one card per failed attempt. This card is so OVER POWER and destructive that it will litterely change the game...

Do people really think this card might be rigged? LMAO

It doesn't matter if the chance is 67%, 33%, 20% or 90%. If you have bad luck you'll always fail. And then you might think that it is rigged even if it's not

Wait, they actually have mods here?
OP
this is the most OP Card in the game atm... you can activate his effect as many as you like to... if your oponent controls per example 3 cards you can just clear his side of the field...

Very good in combination with "Skill Successor" and "Phalanx Pike".

it's a good card, but it costs, like u said you can activate it as many times as possible, but you will end up discarding a lot of cards, if you don't finish them of quick enough, you will have a tough time to win since you gambled all your resources away

Of course you have 5 wins in a row. Everytime you try a new deck, the Konami algorithm don't know how to counter it and let you won 3 or 5 times. Btw, we're late January, there are not a lot of good players left in Legend.
<< Anonymous(snipe me)
yes sure Reply
you are right, but if you use cards like "Volcanic Shell" you can use the effect of Snipe Hunter 3 times by paying 1000 LP instead of wasting 3 Cards you just waste 1 Card... there are a lot of possibilities to snipe 3-4 times by just send 1 or 2 Cards to the GY.
I'll post my deck later this afternoon so you can see which Cards are good in combination

Friendly reminder that this guy used to be Limited. For a reason.

I agree as I did play the TCG when this card was unlimited. I'm still surprised to see this card as Konami normally doesn't bring out any cards into duel links that's on the TCG's banned/restricted list
<< Anonymous(rtfg)

I just don't like how risky this guy is. 1/3 chance to fail is pretty significant. You might discard 2-3 cards and wipe your opponent's field, or you might have just lost 2-3 cards for nothing. Either way, the chance of losing more cards than your opponent is pretty big after multiple uses.

obviously you would want to combine it with cards that you want sent to the graveyard. If you discard bacon saver who gives a πŸ”₯ if you roll a 1 or a 6. You could (in theory) summon turn 1 dark necrofear with this guy while simultaneously clearing cards. add him in a bamboo/jar of avarice deck and watch the surrenders roll in

Is there any better card that you can put into BEWD deck to set up your GY apart from this card? I will be happy to remove this card if there is any.

So they're going to release this as an UR in a Minibox, even though its stats are lackluster and it's effect won't even work all the time?

He should be Yami Bakura's reward because he was datamined right before Yami Bakura's second event. Konami must have dropped the idea of launching him at that time.

Idk his effect is far to good to be a bakura reward ( if you’re talking about it as a drop)

How is this card different from Trance Archfiend? Their texts seem identical, but one allows you to activate Dark World effects while another can't.
<< Anonymous
Soulplayer Reply
Why can't sniper huner activate Dark World effects?
<< Anonymous(Soulplayer)
TrialnError Reply
To plainly put it, Snipe Hunter discards not as an effect. Think of it as having too many cards in hand and discarding a card. Trance discards as a card effect. Card Effects and costs are two different things.

Nice discard can help with fiend decks to summon necrofear. Plus it’s a fiend itself

For example, when some GameA commenters ask for a Snipe Hunter limit, you can be 100% sure that’s typical case of inferior intelligence.
<< Anonymous
Anonymous Reply
To limit a card with less than 2000 attack points that relies on luck. Just no.

must be a Lava Golem player too scared to see his only way to win gets limited

also I bet you keep saying "down syndrome" without actually knowing what it is

Are you serious m8? Reply
Nobody in this post ever mentioned 'Down Syndrome', no one. Your intelligence is inferior, isn't it?

That's the problem with the people that comment here, they are most of the times, πŸ”₯ed and put words in the mouth of others.
