During either player's turn, when this face-down card (and no other cards) is targeted by a Spell Card: Change this card to face-up Defense Position, and if you do, negate the Spell Card's activation. If this card is attacked, change it to Attack Position at the end of the Damage Step.

Big Shield Gardna (BSG) is one of the well known monster cards that has been introduced since the original series. With a high DEF of 2600, you are very likely to inflict defense battle damage when the opponent attacks this set card. However, BSG is defeated easily if the opponent has more than one monster on the field to forcibly trigger BSG’s effect provided they have the LP to tank the first hit.

Tips

BSG is best used with lockdown decks or as a tribute fodder due its vulnerable effect. Avoid having too many BSGs in your deck if you are not building a lockdown deck as its effect is a double edged sword and should not remain on the field for too long once flipped face-up.

Worth getting as prismatic from the kog reward? I mean, it's the only way to get him at all as they decide to not bring him back to the card trader :(

Just bring it back, you removed it in f**king february! Way too early! The old boxes are also back, so why not the old cards from the card trader? The term "rotated out" makes no sense when they never come back :P

What do you expect it's Konami,the 🔥s who work there probably thought 2600 Def on a lvl 4 monster was too op and decided to remove it despite its obvious draw backs

Order to Charge doesn't work on big shield gardna when he is face down as Order to Charge is a spell card.

My toxicity is directed towards arrogant players who think they know everything and yell and scream at those who don't understand yugioh as well as them.News flash elitists not everyone understands rulings etc,you wanna look good/smart? Then go educate less knowledgeable players in a more mature manner (preferably without profanity name calling etc)

I always actually referring to adults, it's understandable coming from kids and I expect (somewhat) such behavior from them, the adult community on the other hand should be setting an example but no such (or at least not much) luck but I digress idiots are just best ignored.

It helps a lot in burn decks for sure but if you let it too long without protection then you're eventually gonna take damage

Pretty hilarious when a standard duellist has low lp but still thinks they're going to win only for them to crash their monster into this and lose

in the battle with vagabond with challenge no effect activation.somehow this BSG effect is active but the other card is not.btw BSG is my monster in that battle.can someone explain to me why...?

I can't explain why the effect didn't trigger, but I've had the exact same issue happen to me.

I can explain.The reason this happens is because it means no effect activation for you not for the vagabond. Thats how all the vagabond challenges are.

Is this card worth getting? 3 UR stone is still pretty hefty. This card is leaving the store but it can make a return in the future.
