Big Shield Gardna (BSG) is one of the well known monster cards that has been introduced since the original series. With a high DEF of 2600, you are very likely to inflict defense battle damage when the opponent attacks this set card. However, BSG is defeated easily if the opponent has more than one monster on the field to forcibly trigger BSG’s effect provided they have the LP to tank the first hit.

Tips

BSG is best used with lockdown decks or as a tribute fodder due its vulnerable effect. Avoid having too many BSGs in your deck if you are not building a lockdown deck as its effect is a double edged sword and should not remain on the field for too long once flipped face-up.

This card is a lot better now than when the game got released. Surprised it isn't getting more attention being in the Card Trader again.

Because back then 95% players don't have econ.

Regardless, econ was still used in most decks back then. With stuff like Inverse Universe, Ojama Country, and Super Rush Headlong existing, it is definitely better. Also being immune to cards like Tribute of the Doomed and Magic Triangle of the Ice Barrier when Set can be useful. People would just rather use meta decks.

Why are people wasting EX jewels and UR ticket on this when you could just go into the card trader's inventory?

This card was removed from card trader before. Sigh.. New players.

i made a pretty good deck with him:
3 BSG
3 EH Woodsman
2 EH Ocean
1 EH Clayman
1 King of Swamp
1 Gaia the fierce knight
3 Inverse Universe
2 Mirror Wall
2 Wall of Disruption
2 Polymerization

Aditional deck:

2 EH Terra Firma
1 Sky Galloping Gaia the Dragon Champion
1 EH Thunder Giant
1 UFOroid Fighter

i'm thinking in change gaia for another warrior with a good fusion, like EH Neos or Notable Blader, but i'm not sure

Other option, more consistent, but less technical, since you cant tribute BSG when he is no more usefull in field

other option, with other great warrior

You can use it with Joe, Bastion or Jaden, work well with theirs habilities

Can you use Shield and Sword spell card on this bih?
<< Anonymous
Anonymous Reply
you should be able to

I call bullshit on the vagabound challenges. Gardnas effect activated even when it was the "no effect activation" challenge. So it should have stayed in defense position after being attacked.

I'm with you on the Vagabond "No effect" crap. I made a deck filled with high stat effect monsters like Boar Soldier and the like. Some of them still activated their effects. Like wtf?
<< Anonymous
Anonymous Reply
No effect activations meaning any effect you have to activate doesn't work
<< Anonymous
Anonymous Reply
Because it doesn't stop the negative effects
<< Anonymous

The penalties that apply to you don't apply to the vagabond. If it says "no effect activation", it means "YOU can't activate effects". It's the same way you don't start with three monsters when it says "start with three opponent monsters", your opponent doesn't start with 1000 life, doesn't lose monster or tragic zones, and can special summon things if you can't.

Nice of them to bring this back in the anniversary UR ticket.

I agree. I spent my ticket on it because I missed it before.

How to use it now? I got two copies
<< Anonymous
Anonymous Reply
Same. Used all 3 UR tickets on it straightaway. Might do some Ojama Land shenanigans with it at some point

(Set Gardna, let enemy attack it, then on your turn use Ojama monster (ideally fusion summon Ojama Knight or King) to switch ATK and DEF values and attack with surprise 2600 ATK Boomstick.

But why did they remove from card trader? I could use tickets on another card :(
Anonymous
If used in an ojama deck BSG will be an offensive powerhouse with 2600 attack.
<< Anonymous
Anonymous Reply
Yup, can beat most monsters under Ojama Country, even BEWD.
Matt
When will this card be available again?
<< Anonymous(Matt)
Ghoul Reply
Only at special events, not at the card trader.

Got 212 ex coins what's the best way for me to get 300
Kafka
Should I buy bsg or flamvell grunika and other cards?
<< Anonymous(Kafka)
Unlucky at All Reply
I think the 2nd choice is better! Trading the 3 cards that are only obtainable in flip-cards events.
<< Anonymous(Kafka)
LegendaryFarmz Reply
Bsg. Always.
That is untill you have 3. This thing is a beast when nobleman of crossout comes out. Best played first turn. However, in the current format, you're better off with a Grunika and some other cards. Your choice, flip a coin if you cannot choose :P

i want my second gardna but i flamvell grunika too.. only got 300 :c

Still kog viable after the cyber petite nerf? Or dead deck?
Semi limiting petite does not increase deck variation. It decreases it by removing cyber angel...
