Tea Gardner is one of Yugi's friends but not a duelist. She only had a duel with Joey at the beginning of the manga.

Description in the game

Téa is Yugi's childhood friend who dreams of becoming a professional dancer. Though she won't call herself a Duelist, her bravery won't allow her to back down from any Duel.

Yusei's friendship (and broken friendship) is PLOT-DRIVEN, Tea... idk. Tea is not even for fanservice so her role in anime is really questionable.

For one, "tea" and "Téa" aren't even pronounced similarly. Second, it's an actual name, so what's the problem? It's like complaining if they named her Jane. Not everyone is going to keep a super-Japanese name, nor realistically should. Localization happens for a reason.

No, her name is pronounced "tay-a". Not "tee". That's what the accent denotes in the first place. They likely did go for a pun with the last name, granted, but her first name isn't pronounced even remotely similarly.

"Téa" is an actual name, whether you can bring yourself to admit it or not. Seriously, the internet exists.
