Fiendish Chain | Continuous Trap |
Selection Box Vol. 03 [UR] Shining Hope [UR]
Activate this card by targeting 1 Effect Monster on the field; negate that face-up monster's effects, also that face-up monster cannot attack. When it is destroyed, destroy this card. |
Constellar Ptolemy M7 | LIGHT Machine ★6 ATK 2700 / DEF 2000 |
Infinite Ray [UR] | |
2 Level 6 monsters You can also Xyz Summon this card by using a "Constellar" Xyz Monster you control as the Xyz Material, other than "Constellar Ptolemy M7". (Xyz Materials attached to that monster also become Xyz Materials on this card.) If Summoned this way, the following effect cannot be activated this turn. Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 monster on the field or in either player's Graveyard; return that target to the hand. |
Ptolemy M7 provides non-destruction removal which also doesn't send the target to the graveyard, bypassing most floating. Monsters that do not end up in the graveyard are also harder to recycle, especially if it was an Extra Deck monster.
You can also select a monster in your own graveyard and recover it.
Heroic Champion - Excalibur | LIGHT Warrior ★4 ATK 2000 / DEF 2000 |
Eternal Stream [UR] | |
2 Level 4 Warrior-Type monsters Once per turn: You can detach 2 Xyz Materials from this card; this card's ATK becomes double its original ATK until your opponent's next End Phase. |
This helps beat over monsters that can't be destroyed by card effects, or to get an OTK if you can get a direct attack.
Maestroke the Symphony Djinn | DARK Fiend ★4 ATK 1800 / DEF 2300 |
Shark Fang [UR] | |
2 Level 4 monsters Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 face-up Attack Position monster your opponent controls; change it to face-down Defense Position. If a "Djinn" Xyz Monster you control would be destroyed, you can detach 1 Xyz Material from that monster instead. |
Unlike Excalibur, flipping your opponent's monster can be more beneficial since it removes equip cards or resets their ATK if they were increased. This also lets your other monster(s) deal with your opponent's monster, instead of relying on Excalibur's attack to go through.
Abyss Dweller | WATER Sea Serpent ★4 ATK 1700 / DEF 1400 |
Photons of Galaxy [UR] | |
2 Level 4 monsters While this card has an Xyz Material attached that was originally WATER, all WATER monsters you control gain 500 ATK. Once per turn, during either player's turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; any card effects that activate in your opponent's Graveyard cannot be activated this turn. |
Useful against certain decks that rely on effects that happen in the graveyard.
Gaia Dragon, the Thunder Charger | WIND Dragon ★7 ATK 2600 / DEF 2100 |
Infinite Ray [SR] | |
2 Level 7 monsters You can also Xyz Summon this card by using a Rank 5 or 6 Xyz Monster you control as the Xyz Material. (Xyz Materials attached to that monster also become Xyz Materials on this card.) If this card attacks a Defense Position monster, inflict piercing battle damage to your opponent. |
If your rank 5 or 6 monsters are locked up or negated because of your opponent's card, you can rank up into this so that you can still attack.
Photon Strike Bounzer | LIGHT Warrior ★6 ATK 2700 / DEF 2000 |
Photons of Galaxy [SR] | |
2 Level 6 monsters Once per turn, during either player's turn, when a monster effect is activated on your opponent's side of the field: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; negate the effect, and if you do, inflict 1000 damage to your opponent. |
Negating enemy monster effects is great for disrupting their plays, especially because most combos involve the use of a monster effect; an example is negating the opponent's Utopic Onomatopeia. This negation is especially against Fire King High Avatar Garunix because it doesn't destroy, so Garunix won't have another chance to wipe the field next turn. The burn damage upon negation is also quite a significant amount.
However, because the negation effect does not destroy the negated monster, so this can be dangerous against powerful monsters like Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon.
Diamond Dire Wolf | EARTH Beast ★4 ATK 2000 / DEF 1200 |
Voltage of the Metal [SR]
2 Level 4 monsters Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 Beast, Beast-Warrior, or Winged Beast-Type monster you control and 1 other card on the field; destroy them. |
Diamond Dire Wolf gets rid of itself along with any enemy card. Use this as on demand removal against a problematic card, or secure your attacks by getting rid of enemy backrow.
Inherent protection effect from all forms of destruction gives it good stalling potential. The first effect lets you deal with high-ATK low-DEF enemy monsters such as Shiranuis.
Steelswarm Roach | DARK Fiend ★4 ATK 1900 / DEF 0 |
Photons of Galaxy [SR] | |
2 Level 4 monsters During either player's turn, when a Level 5 or higher monster would be Special Summoned: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; negate the Special Summon, and if you do, destroy it. |
Prevents your opponent from summoning high level synchro monsters, or certain cards that can be summoned from the hand that are commonly used in Thunder Dragon decks.
Digital Bug Rhinosebus | LIGHT Insect ★7 ATK 2600 / DEF 2200 |
Infinite Ray [R] | |
2 or more Level 7 LIGHT Insect-Type monsters You can also Xyz Summon this card by detaching 2 Xyz Materials from a Rank 5 or 6 Insect-Type Xyz Monster you control, then using that Xyz Monster as the Xyz Material. (Xyz Materials attached to that monster also become Xyz Materials on this card.) If this card attacks a Defense Position monster, inflict piercing battle damage to your opponent. Once per turn, during either player's turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; destroy the face-up monster(s) your opponent controls with the highest DEF (all, if tied). |
This is summoned by ranking up from Exa-Beetle, which will only give it 1 material for 1 use.
Rhinosebus has a quick-effect and it's a non-targeting monster removal. Either use it early to stop potential combos, or do it once they summon their boss monster.
Inzektor Exa-Beetle | DARK Insect ★6 ATK 1000 / DEF 1000 |
Darkness Gimmick [R] | |
2 Level 6 monsters When this card is Xyz Summoned: You can target 1 monster in either player's Graveyard; equip that target to this card. This card gains ATK and DEF equal to half the original ATK and DEF of the monster equipped by this effect. Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card to target 1 face-up card on each side of the field; send those targets to the Graveyard. |
Mainly to go into Exa-Beetle, but its effect is also not bad in case you need to return a monster instead of destroying them like Bloom Diva the Melodious Choir instead. But using the effect like this will mean that you can't rank up into Rhinosebus.
Sword Breaker | EARTH Warrior ★4 ATK 2700 / DEF 1000 |
Shining Hope [R] | |
2 Level 6 monsters Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card to declare 1 Monster Type; this card gains the following effect. At the start of the Damage Step, if this card battles a monster of a Type that has been declared: Destroy that monster. |
The inherent removal effect is good for dealing with Decks that use a single Monster Type, and the destruction effect against the declared type will last as long as Sword Breaker remains face-up. Even without its effect, Sword Breaker is already a pretty strong beater.
Digital Bug Corebage | LIGHT Insect ★5 ATK 2200 / DEF 1800 |
Infinite Ray [R] | |
2 or more Level 5 LIGHT Insect-Type monsters You can also Xyz Summon this card by detaching 2 Xyz Materials from a Rank 3 or 4 Insect-Type Xyz Monster you control, then using that Xyz Monster as the Xyz Material. (Xyz Materials attached to that monster also become Xyz Materials on this card.) Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 Defense Position monster your opponent controls; shuffle it into the Deck. Once per turn, if the battle position of a monster(s) on the field is changed (except during the Damage Step): You can attach 1 Insect-Type monster from your Graveyard to this card as Xyz Material. |
A rank up option after going into Malevolent Sin. Corebage's monster removal effect isn't temporary, and going back into the deck is situationally more useful.
Number 18: Heraldry Patriarch | LIGHT Psychic ★4 ATK 2200 / DEF 2200 |
Voltage of the Metal [R]
2 Level 4 monsters Once per Chain, during either player's turn, if 2 or more monsters with the same name are on the field: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card; choose 1 monster among those with the same name, and destroy all other monsters with that name. While this card remains face-up on the field, your opponent cannot Summon monsters with the same name as any of the monster(s) chosen for this card's effect. If this card is sent to the Graveyard: You can send 2 "Heraldic Beast" monsters from your Deck to the Graveyard. |
Potentially a game-winning card when you go against decks that uses same name monsters like Harpies or Cyber Dragons.
Gagaga Samurai | EARTH Warrior ★4 ATK 1900 / DEF 1600 |
Shining Hope [SR] | |
2 Level 4 monsters Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card, then target 1 "Gagaga" monster you control; it can make a second attack during each Battle Phase this turn. When another monster you control is targeted for an attack while this card is in Attack Position: You can change this card to Defense Position, and if you do, change the attack target to this card and perform damage calculation. |
Samurai is a great monster for pushing damage. Detach Mancer from Samurai for an ATK boost, making the double attack even more potent.
Notes from Kortezzy:
"This month I tried a post-ban list version of onomat. Breakthrough Skill put in so much work and helps with the mirror.
Tips/Explanation:
From legend 1-3 I played 2 forbidden lance. This allows you to dodge the effects from back row. This was very useful facing control onomat. If you face onomats Bounzer can stop searching and effects, make sure you clear your opponent's board.
This won me the mirror in my kog rank-up. Rhinosbus also can be stopped using BoM and Breakthrough skill. Gaia dragon is also useful if your monsters get hit with fiendish chain. It also fills the road of inflicting pierce like rhinosbus.
Finally, Excalibur is a new card I tried, this card can lead to a surprising amount of otks This is because it can prevent the use boxer veil."
