"Reed" is an actual english word, but considering the meaning, I feel the english department of Konami mistranslated this card, and it should have been "Lead" instead.

"Lead" would make more sense, as it "lead" your way into victory by special summoning itself, allowing you to start doing stuff, for example using it as Synchro Material to bring out your own Synchro Monster that's stronger than your opponent's.
