Yubel Nephthys: deck recipe

Duel Links Breaking News
New LD: Satorius!
update 21/02/2019

Overview

This deck takes advantage of Disciple of Nephthys to destroy Yubel and Special Summon Yubel - Terror Incarnate. Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys and Cerulean Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys can then be used to finish off your opponent thanks to their ability to Special Summon themselves from the Graveyard during your Standby Phase.

How to Use

Disciple of Nephthys & Yubel

Activate Disciple of Nephthys's effect by destroying Yubel to then add Cerulean Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys or Devotee of Nephthys from your Deck to your hand. Yubel’s effect will Since you didn’t use Fire King Island to Summon Yubel - Terror Incarnate, it will be difficult for your opponent to get rid of it.

If you destroy another copy of Disciple of Nephthys to activate its effect, it will allow you to add Rebirth of Nephthys from your Deck to your hand during your next Standby Phase. If you destroy Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys, it will Special Summon itself from the Graveyard during your next Standby Phase, destroying all Spell and Trap Cards on the field.

Devotee of Nephthys

If you didn’t start with Disciple of Nephthys, you can still Ritual Summon Devotee of Nephthys, Special Summon Disciple from your Deck and then activate its effect by destroying Yubel to Summon Yubel - Terror Incarnate.

If Yubel - Terror Incarnate is already on the field, you can use Devotee to Special Summon Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys from your Deck and start to continuously wipe out your opponent’s monsters and back row. Not every deck is able to respond to the combination of Yubel - Terror Incarnate and Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys.

Cerulean Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys

You can add Cerulean Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys to your hand with Disciple of Nephthys or with Card of the Soul, if you want to save your Normal Summon for Sonic Bird. If you Tribute Cerulean Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys or Devotee of Nephthys with Rebirth of Nephthys, you will get to destroy a card on the field. Note that the destruction effect of Rebirth of Nephthys does not target.

Once per turn, Cerulean Sacred Phoenix allows you to destroy any number of “Nephthys” cards in your hand and/or face-up on your side of the field to destroy an equal amount of monsters your opponent controls. You can destroy a face-up Attack Position Disciple of Nephthys to activate this effect while also getting rid of a liability.

If it was destroyed by battle or card effect (Yubel - Terror Incarnate), Cerulean Sacred Phoenix of Nephthys will Special Summon itself from the Graveyard during your next Standby Phase (if it was properly Summoned before).

Yubel
Yubel

My Name is Yubel notably increases the consistency of the deck: thanks to this Skill, you are essentially running 5 copies of Yubel instead of 3 and 2 cards that are completely useless when you draw them.

Weaknesses

  • The deck can struggle with consistency, but it’s generally able to get to its main combo.
  • Yubel - Terror Incarnate’s floating effect can miss the timing if the card is destroyed as Chain Link 2 or higher.
  • Koa'ki Meiru Ice can destroy Terror Incarnate and then Ultimate Nightmare, leaving you completely open to an OTK since the deck doesn’t have much space left for backrow.

Anyone know a decent way to counter this deck? It is all I am facing on the ladder, everyone and their dog is playing it!

Has anyone succeeded in making it playable?

What? Lmao You have 4 cards in your hand (1 - 2 Yubels, Phoenix and Montage dragon)
You go first.
You special summon the Montage dragon and ending your turn.
Your opponent takes your Monatge with E-con and smash it in your face

Most of my first turns end with one terror incarnation and one blue chicken of death.
Sorry for my bad English i am a "Kraut" ^^

Hey so I got pretty lucky, should I try building this deck
Anonymous 28days ago
This is the optimal build. You only need one Cerulean. The main goal is to have Terror Incarnate on the field to blow both Blue Chicken and Yellow Chicken every turn

1x Yubel - Terror Incarnate
1x Yubel - Ultimate Nightmare

I don't think high, you can't even summon your monster properly because even if you have a good hand, they Canadia Floodgated most of the time (Disciple of N). Worse than Fire king island.

Honestly, Im not really a fan of 2 treacherous trap hole. Maybe just 1... I dont really think its thaaaaaaaaat useful as some guys think it is.
<< Anonymous

It is extremely useful because you can use it on your own monster (fire king Yaksha) if opponent don't want to attack it or summoned something like Armades/Ancient gear robot/Ultra athletes which negate effects
Anonymous 22days ago
This deck is bad. Old Fire king is better and more consistent (lol)
Anonymous 22days ago
This deck bricks more than usual Yubel.
Anonymous 28days ago
looks like everyone and their grandma will use this deck to tilt opponents. Already facing more yubel player rather than AG/Koaki player in platinum.

But what is the point of flipping down Yubel and leaving him there if you can't kill him? If you do.. chain starts?

There are thousands of ways to kill or banish it.

I often rely on Forbidden Chalice.
- It's simple
- It's only a SR from a tiny box.
- It can be used during Damage step.

I won against this deck playing Yubel mill version.
I would like to hear what my opponent said when I Warm Wormed all 3 ritual spells to the graveyard in a single turn.

Playmaker version is the best

Why is everybody acting like this is some ultimate tier 1 shit when I have seen only one yubel nephtys kog deck on any site so far. I don't believe that tons of players missed the yubel event because I saw tons of yubel fire king in pvp all of the time. Is it too early to tell or is this just overhype for something that could only be tier 3 or 2 at best?

me too, no need for grinding and it's quite fun
Looks like a good card to get rid of tuners, but doesn't seem to be very good
Terraforming but we don’t have that in duel links
Yeah. How degenerate are you to think that Konami will read this mess and come delete comments XDD
